#ao3 #archive of our own #fanfiction #writing #writeblr #kudos #idc rly it's just odd cuz im used to my daily kudos email #I suppose it shouldn't be surprising bc I've been writing more odd/incredibly niche stuff #I'd be surprised if when I post my next WIP it gets even 10 kudos #part of is the nature of switching to mainly publishing original indie novels rather than fic #whenever I have a story idea that seems broadly palatable and widely appealing I use it ona novel rather than a fanfic #leaving the weird unpopular ideas and tropes for my fanfics #and all the Dead Dove content that can't be self-published on most platforms #It's not that Dead Dove content is unpopular in fanfics but the Dead Doves that are popular are usually smutty eroticized stuff #my Dead Doves aren't smexy imo and they aren't rly meant to be titillating or get anyone's rocks off #altho if anyone is finding my Dead Dove fics hot then good for them! 👍
