Raven:*leaning under a giant tree*......(somebody’s late as usual....)

Raven:*grabs scroll* Hey Tai.

Tai:You sure left in a hurry this morning; I didn’t even see you eat breakfast.

Raven:Decided to skip it; I don’t fight well on a full stomach.

Tai:My pancakes are pretty light though.

Raven:I would’ve eaten half the container.

Tai:*smug* So you’re saying you love my pancakes.

Raven:I’m saying stop making them if you like the way I look. I’m gonna lose my waist line at this rate.

Tai:Plus size or not, my eyes are still gonna be on you.

Raven:......*red* Well I would like to keep this figure wise guy.

Tai:You only call me that when you’re embarrassed.

Raven:Is there a reason you called!!!?

Tai:Tell Yujin I said happy birthday. I’ll try to comeback later today or tomorrow.

Raven:I’ll tell her if she ever shows; we’re essentially doing capture the flag. She’s probably trying to sneak attack me again.

Tai:You sound so proud. I guess Yujin has learned a lot from you. Even when I train with her she talks about what she learned from you and Jaune. *sniffles* I guess martial arts isn’t as cool as a sword.

Raven:Believe me it’s not that. She just-

*leaves rustling*

Raven:Babe I’m gonna have to call you back. Looks like our granddaughter is finally here.

Tai:Don’t do anything too reckless! Love you.

Raven:*chuckles* Yeah yeah......love you too. *hangs up* about time you showed up! Just because it’s your birthday doesn’t mean-

*small fire ball flies at her head*

Raven:*side steps* What have I told you about shooting at me or anyone? *scanning the area*

*sees a black hoodie against a tree*

Raven:*dashes to it* You better not miss or you’ll get spotted right aw-......well aren’t you clever?

*hoodie hanging on a branch*

Yujin:*diving from the top* (Got her!!!) *stabs sword straight down*

Raven:*kicks of the tree for distance* mmmmm nope.... smart move but not good enough. Not even a scr- *hair falls down*

Yujin:*Holding Raven’s red bandanna* What were you saying? Someone let their guard down.

Raven:.....Yep *holding Yujin’s bandanna* and someone got overconfident; the match isn’t over till you have yours and mine. You know what that means... *pulls out sword*

Yujin:Hehe, I guess I should’ve known I’d have to try harder that.*raises sword* You’re the strongest there is after all! *swings downward*

Raven:*knocks it away* Flattery isn’t gone save you Yujin; stay focused. *freezes sword* because I’m not going easy on you; even on your birthday.

Yujin:Tsk, believe me, *ignites blade* you have my undivided attention!*waves of flames fly off slashes*

Raven:*dodging* I can see that. You’re much more focused than usual. Hehe, not to mention thinking ahead.

*surrounded by a ring of fire*

Yujin:*lunging at her* Can’t have you flying off on me now can I? You’re gonna regret training me so well.

Raven:*knocks her sword sky high* Looks like I’m not training you hard enough...

Yujin:*flips into the air and kicks her sword downward*

Raven:*catches sword* But looks like someone is. What a nefty little trick; one that I certainly didn’t teach you. *throws it back*

Yujin:Well It’s not like you’re the only one teaching me swordplay. Dad has me running drills too. I- *barely clashes with Raven*

Raven:Don’t play dumb with me Yujin. We both know your father didn’t teach you something like that.

Yujin:......

Raven:You’re learning things from him again aren’t you? I can’t say I’m entirely okay with that.

Yujin:Hey, Uncle Adam is fine. Dad knows that I ask him from tips whenever he swings by for recon. He just isn’t aware I like his sword style compared to his sometimes. He’s good for speed.

Raven:Don’t let him know that.*pressing her sword down on Yujin’s* it might just break his heart that he isn’t your favorite.

Yujin:*stuggling* Dad will always be number one. *red* Adam is just....neat.

Raven:Please tell me this is just a phase? I mean just imagine what you’re mom would th- *kicked right in the stomach. creating distance*

Yujin:Like it matters what she thinks.

Raven:.....Hmph, didn’t expect that. Does this mean you’re finally gonna go all out? We both know your swordplay is good but not good enough. You want the bandanna right? Get serious....

Yujin:......*spilts sword in half*

*blades fold into the hilt; flipping out and over Yujin’s hands to form metal knuckles.*

Raven:I gotta say, you look good in gauntlets.

Yujin:*boxing stance* Shut up and fight *aura glowing a magnificent fiery white*

Raven:(Almost like lookin in a mirror) *starts an onslaught of attacks*

Yujin:Geez....*bonbing and weaving* follow your advice and get serious. *backhands sword, breaking it* shoot lightning at me or something. *right hook*

Raven:I’m teaching you, not trying to kill you. *throws her into a tree*

Yujin:*boomerangs herself around the tree* Well you better start doing both! *reels arm back*

Raven:*creates ice blade* Carefully what you wish for. *horizontal slash*

Yujin:Hmph, *hand springs off the sword mid swing and over Raven* I love it when a plan comes together; I can’t believe you fell for it!

Raven:*whipping around* We’re not done ye- *hair falls down*

Yujin:*wearing two bandannas* How’s it going over there?

Raven:*smirks* Nice strategy, you’ve improved.

Yujin:Hardly, you could’ve dodged if you wanted. This whole sparring practice could’ve been over from the start. You never make mistakes like this.

Raven:I guess I just wanted to see how far you’d go to win.

Yujin:*annoyed* And by that you mean if I’d use hand to hand. *clicks wrist together*

*hilt reconnects and plated metal remakes a sword.*

Yujin:Satisfied? You got what you wanted.

Raven: I’ve never seen someone so angry to be so gifted at something. You stand a better chance winning a fight with your bare hands than with a sword. Not to say your sword skills aren’t lacking, but it’s clear to see where you shine the brightest.

Yujin:*folds arms* Well I prefer swordplay like you; like dad. Fighting like grandpa has it’s uses but it’s just not for me.

Raven:....Is that all? There’s nothing else to it?

Yujin:*looks away* You’re prying....

Raven:And you’re being defensive as usual. Even if you won’t admit it.

Yujin:*takes a deep breath* I’m fine alright? *smiles* everything is fine.

Raven:You know....it’s okay to be upset with her. It’s another birthday without Ya-

Yujin:Stop......*looks at her*

Raven:Huh? *seeing lilac eyes* Yujin? *blinks*

Yujin:*Sky blue eyes* I told you I’m fine. *starts walking away*

Raven:(Was that...?) Where are you going?

Yujin:To visit Qrow *picks wild flowers* his grave needs new flowers anyways. Tell dad I’ll be home soon.

Raven:....*sigh* so stubborn, guess it runs in the family.

[Jaune’s front yard]

Jaune:*cutting fire wood*

*footsteps coming behind him*

Jaune:*sees two shadows* You guys are down faster than I thought. I haven’t even made lunch.

“You call ten years fast?”

“Awww lunch isn’t ready for us? Some husband.”

Jaune:.....*drops the axe* please tell me if I turn around right now I won’t wake up?

“Only one way to find out”

Jaune:*turns around, teary eyed*

Ruby:*visibly taller and long red hair. Scar on the bridge of her nose and supporting Yang* Long time no see! I thought you might want her back; she’s getting on my nerves.

Yang:*little battered and bruised. Looks a bit more like her mom* Hey there lady killer. Look who’s getting older?

Jaune:*wipes eyes* Look who’s talking hehehe. *lifts her up and spins her*

Yang:*sees her ring around his neck* Jaune.......*touches it* I’m sorry it took so lo- *kissed deeply*

Ruby:*giant smile* Saw that coming.

Jaune:It’s okay Yang. *slides ring on her finger* You’re home now, that’s all that matters to me.

Yang:*Tearing up* Still fits hehehe. I’m home.....

Yujin:*sitting at Summer and Qrow’s grave* “Upset with her?” Pffft, I don’t even care about her.... Who needs a mom? Who needs Yang Xiao Long.
