So after much consideration and going over all the amazing entries A winner has finally been decided!

This was a very tough choice as i loved so many of the entries on both platforms so much. But I absolutely fell in love with the story blurb and just how cute it was! I particularly love the idea of them being rivals as that snarky go get em attitude is very attractive to the predorus part of nightfall. I also love that she just calls him sparkles, like fuck his name, fuck his title, bitch you sparkles and if you don’t like it munch me! I thank everyone so much who participated as all the entries were amazing and it was such a hard choice. In the future I do plan on opening more of my NG for ships so don’t feel discouraged!

How You Think They Met: It would be early afternoon as advisors, nobles, and important political figures would arrive to Canterlot. The main guests that would arrive being a ‘kingdom’ far off north; deep in the shadow forests named “The Onyx Dominion.” Recently rising and building relations across the lands and seas, especially after they were a host of many variants of species rumored to exist throughout eons and discovered by explorers. Finally, as the Delegation from The Onyx Dominion arrived; only a small hoof-full would walk up. One of these figures being Star Opal, a butler who would have a unique aura from her magical potential alone. As even though her appearance was very similar to that of a Pegasus; her wings glittered with a gem like shine and transparency- not to mention the underside of her hair, eyes, and hooves reflecting against the light that shone on it- it made one think of stardust. From across one side of the room; She’d lift her head as she’d introduce herself to the royalty before her. “My name is Star Opal, but please call me Opal. My species of origin is complicated to say in equestrian; so I shall present it’s nickname: Gem Pony.” She’d then bow, curt and simple- as she was merely accompanying the more important figures that would introduce themselves next... However; She’d lift her head against briefly while others chatted- and her eyes would meet a specific prince...

[Princely] HUZZAH! My first entry out of two! I feel like a small interaction of acknowledging each other’s existence from afar is a great start, it’s not forced- and could be more coincidental the next time they meet and chat again! After all, the best place for a discussion with someone new- is in a setting they are comfortable with. So how about a midnight sky?

Either way I hope you like Opal! She’s a gem literally! Good luck to the everyone else who decides to hop in!!

Personality: Very awkward, often trying to seem cool but falling a little flat. Eager-to-please, but a little out-of-touch with other’s taste. When it comes to serious matters, very cold and no-nonsense, almost makes others do a double take at the tonal shift. Empathetic toward others for the most part, but during arguments she focuses a little too much on her own feelings, and needs to be reminded of the other side of things.

How You Think They Met: Her mother’s an artist! To support her mom, she probably went to an art gallery that also featured one of Prince Nightfall’s artworks. She ended up rambling about the technical aspects with constructive critique to him directly, not at all paying attention to who she was talking to until she was done, much to her embarrassment. At that point she made sure to also include positive feedback, which probably sparked more conversation between them from there.

Special Somepony Contest

So after several years I am reopening Nightfall for a special somepony (I'd like him to have a partner with someone who'd draw/wright/headcanon about the couple alongside me ^^)

The winner will become canon to my NG blog Askmotherlyluna as Nightfall's future partner (when he’s an adult) and will also be canon to my NG au hallowverse!

A little Something About Nightfall: Known as the Alicorn of Creativity prince Nightfall tends to push others to think outside the box to solve their problems and express themselves. Despite his sometimes broody and blunt personality, he is actually fairly friendly and quite polite towards others. He will usually take constellation requests from younger ponies as Nightfall's special talent is to rearrange the stars in the sky to create constellations, he can even change their color. He is a stallion who prefers to be around ponies who enjoy fun and are bubbly, just not too bubbly of course! There is such a thing as too much! Ideally, he'd like to find a mare who is more nocturnal like himself so they could actually spend time with each other, though he's someone willing to find work arounds to differing schedules. One of these figures being Tribal Envy, a mare with gold across her neck and leg; and eyes of piercing pink that seemed wiser than her appearance let on. She would be introduced beside the leader of the Dominion; her legs crossing as she bowed with precision. “My name is Tribal Envy, I am the Elite Captain of defense in The Onyx Dominion. My species is that of an Elden Earthpony, I am one of few left. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance.” She lifts her head as she finishes her introduction and goes back to a relaxed position. Her eyes scanning the royals; eventually landing onto the prince. She gives him a short look, mostly to be observant as she’d smile in a silent greeting. Before speaking if she was brought into any other discussions along with her leader.

[Princely] There we go! My Second and final entry for this contest (unless I somehow change my mind). My gal Tribal isn’t exactly Nightfall’s type nor is she completely nocturnal; however I thought she’d be a good contestant to put up because of her personality and the way she approaches others. Unless the individual she interacts with has a specific conduct/ have a way that they present themselves; she usually is very open and approaches others first. After the initial meeting with Nightfall I imagine she’d go up to him and interact with him; mostly to be friends! She’s always been the bold and non-conforming type; and goes by her own beliefs. Perhaps they could talk again in training grounds or libraries; as Tribal has more than she lets on with her appearance!

BTW; she’s besties with Miss Opal (my previous entry) so if you interact with one- there is a high likely chance you’ll meet the other!

Gender: Female/Nonbinary Species: Batpony Age: Adult Occupation: Bookstore Keeper

Personality: Wondertale is the kind of pony who is reserved and politely quiet in social gatherings, but can be loud and excitable if talking about hobbies she likes (she’s always ready and willing to teach ponies how to Crochet or to fold Origami) or when talking about famous cautionary tales and their deeper meanings. Due to her batpony nature, she can be a bit nervous and distracted in loud environments, but she is very attentive and an active listener.

Cutiemark Talent: Her talent is telling stories! Sparking imaginations with silly voices or sound effects, Wonder is handy to have around a campfire on Nightmare Night to spook little fillies and colts with stories of ghosts or swamp creatures!

How You Think They Met: Whilst running a stall at a Fall bookfair held in Canterlot, Wondertale spends the evening drawing curious attentions when telling the tale of a haunted house and the strange ponies- alive and undead -that lived within it. After delightedly spooking the listeners and promoting her shop, Wonder notices the Prince browsing the stall and curiously asks if he’s looking for anything in particular.       The Prince inquires about the Sherlock Hooves books, considering the out-of-the-box nature of his creativity, ‘whodunit’ books might be right up his alley! Wondertale hums in thought, as the books at the stall are limited in selection, but happily recommends The Ahuizotl’s Paw (The Monkey’s Paw) if he wants a story that makes him think. She offers to find any of the newer books in the Sherlock Hooves series if hes ever in the area of her bookshop. ( ^^ Good luck on the Contest!
