We're Human Afterall
Ethan shuts his eyes trying to ignore the way his hands shake and his chest rises and falls. He needed to calm down, why was he even freaking out? God, he was so useless sometimes. He felt himself hit the floor, and squeezed his eyes shut. Trying to calm his racing thoughts. At this point, he just wanted to go home. Maybe, it would have been better off if he hadn't accepted Chris' offer for training.
"You okay?" An unfamiliar voice broke through his panic. He looks up to see an older-looking man, he had to be in his forties. He had long dirty blonde bangs that covered part of his face. Despite this, he had striking blue eyes. He wore a leather jacket, which causes Ethan to think he wasn't BSAA. Even Chris basically wore their logo everywhere.
"I...not really..." Ethan sighs out, the man looks around before sigh taking a seat next to him.
"You and me both," he huffs out. Now that the man mentioned it, he did look exhausted. Bags that were just beginning to fade under his eyes. "So... you want to talk about it?" Ethan hesitates, this man was a stranger and he might not be allowed to know. However, at the same time, he just needed to talk to someone other than Chris and Mia.
"I was recently caught up in this whole bioweapons thing, and I was offered training... it's just all so overwhelming..." Ethan begins to explain. "Not that I don't appreciate any of this, it's just... things used to be so simple. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night afraid some manic is standing at the end of my bed."
"After I got pulled into everything, I couldn't sleep without a knife under my pillow for months. Hell, some nights I still do." The man's blue eyes meet his own. "My point is don't kick yourself down so much. Though this probably doesn’t mean much from a stranger." He chuckles at the end but the other man is quiet for a moment.
"I... thanks, Ethan by the way." He holds his hand out to the other man to which he takes.
"Le-"
"Ethan I- Oh, Leon? What are you doing here?" Chris stops upon noticing the two men on the floor.
"Wait, Leon? As in Leon Kennedy who was supposed to help with my training today?" Ethan asks suddenly standing, his cheeks are bright red.
"I was about to introduce myself, but yeah that's me." Leon smiles as he stands. "I was heading to find Chris to meet you actually."
"I'm so sorry, we had to meet like that."
"I didn't mind sweetheart."
"He's married." Chris is quick to bring up. Leon looks guilty upon hearing that.
"Sorry, if that was too much."
"I mean... I didn't really mind." Ethan smiles at the other man rubbing his neck nervously. The elder blonde looks at him with a smile of his own when Chris clears his throat.
"Maybe, we should get to why Leon is actually here." The man brings the attention back to him.
“Right, sorry.” Still, Ethan glanced at Leon as they follow Chris back to the training room. The other man smiles at him, and Ethan feels his heart beat a little faster.
