MK1 Sareena idea:

What if Sareena was from the OG timeline. Maybe she made a deal with Liu Kang to help him get the final blow on Kronika, in exchange for being recreated in his new timeline with her memories intact, allowing her to find Bi Han and prevent his death.

She still needs to avoid suspicion while trying to meet and protect Bi Han. The easiest way to do so is to join Quan Chi. This also allows her to keep an eye on Quan Chi for Liu Kang. When Ashrah finds the kriss and leaves the Sisterhood, she doesn't go with her bc she hasn't found Bi Han yet, though she obviously can't tell Ashrah of her plans.

Of course, just when Bi Han shows up and their paths are about to cross, Kuai Liang and Tomas take him back. This is fine, she knows they would never hurt Bi Han, and it gets him away from Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. She can catch up. She's been waiting for millennia in this new timeline, what's a few more days or weeks while they sort out this new armageddon?

But that means she now needs to leave Quan Chi--and he won't let her, she's the most powerful demoness he has left. Luckily, Ashrah returns to save her, getting Quan Chi out of the way at the same time, and she goes to Fengjian with her. Finally, she gets to see Bi Han again!

Unfortunately, Bi Han is no longer with Kuai Liang and Tomas--but the rivalry between the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu is starting. So she can hang out with the Shirai Ryu until Bi Han shows up. And a good thing too, since they just picked up Hanzo Hasashi--Bi Han's killer in the original timeline.

However, there is a bigger problem--the new Cyber Initiative. Knowing this never turns out well for the Lin Kuei, Sareena now moves into a double agent role for the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu, leading Syzoth and Ashrah to worry that she is falling back into evil.
