I haven’t slept in the last 19 hours HAJI (YOU🫵) WHAT CROSSOVERS OF DANGANRONPA AND YOUR FAVORITE MEDIA/FANDOM WOULD YOU DO AND COULD IT BECOME LEGIT IF EVER GIVEN THE CHANCE
Thank you and have a nice (early) talky tuesday :)
See that's kinda hard BC most media can fit on with a Battle Royale, but I definitely could not assign a Stand to every DR character. There's so many DR characters.
Oh but existing Stands, hmmm ...
Impostor: Yellow Temperance, somewhat obviously
A sticky, rubbery mass bound to and encasing his body which consumes any other organic substance it comes in contact with. The Stand defends him from all forms of brute force and allows him to effectively impersonate others.
TeruTeru: Pearl Jam, also obviously. He seems like more of a healer/support player than a fighter anyway.
A swarm of vegetable-like creatures that infuse themselves into the user's dishes, and increase the healing potency of the dishes to supernatural levels. Supposedly people with split stands have some Issues??
Mahiru: I wanted to say Hermit Purple but I dont think she has it in her to smash cameras....Atom Heart Father it is.
Atom Heart Father is bound to a Polaroid camera which takes pictures with several extraordinary properties. The user essentially lives within the camera but can interact with the subjects of the photos taken with it. Anything that happens within a photograph is reflected on the real life subjects. The photographs cannot be destroyed to stop the power because the damage to the pictures will be transferred as equivalent wounds to those depicted inside. Secondly, everything inside the photo becomes an effectively isolated space defined by the frame of the photographs. While people inside trying to get out will find themselves bumping into an unbreakable and invisible wall, people outside trying to go inside the photographed space find themselves transported to the other side of the space.
Peko: I mean ... Silver Chariot? It's a sword wielding knight. It's silvery. I think it'd look cool.
It's way too much to explain it's a very fast sword dude
Ibuki: Maybe Echoes? Sound manipulation PLUS .... Heavy metal...get it ....
Echoes ACT1 can write words on any surface or person. If the writing is an onomatopoeia, typically in Katakana letters, a sound related to the onomatopoeia in question is produced. If the writing is a sentence written in Kanji, the words will influence the target's state of mind.
Echoes ACT2 can write an onomatopoeia on any surface. When the sound effect is touched, an effect related to the sound is produced, either affecting the person who touched it or the object which the words are inscribed on.
Echoes ACT3 applies a "freezing" or stopping effect by greatly increasing the weight of its target by punching it. This one is fully sentient which is kind of an anomaly.
Hiyoko: GooGoo Dolls probably. Squishes people like ants
Goo Goo Dolls, has the ability to shrink the size of selected targets within her range to the size of a mouse.
Mikan: so conflicted. Green Day? Crazy Diamond? Metallica?? I wanna say Metallica.
Okay so it's basically iron manipulation but the user usually uses it by creating scissors, knives etc inside of people and cutting them up from the inside
Gundham: dude how sick if it was Scary Monsters
Scary Monsters' main ability is to infect other living beings with a virus which transforms them into dinosaurs, but also allows the user to control them. The user is capable of changing his own body into a dinosaur, either completely or as a hybrid of the two. Being bound to the user's body, Scary Monsters allows them to fight against other Stands and physically damage them with their bare hands. Fossilization; the ability to alter beings transformed by this Stand into a hardened dormant state much like a fossil.
Nekomaru: had to think a lot buut maybe Bad Company? Hed like train them and have all these formations and moves. Idk.
it's a bunch of toy soldiers with guns and tanks and helicopters that shoot you.
Nagito: Black Sabbath, I think it fits nearly with his whole "I will bring out the true hope!" thing while also not being super overpowered in the wrong circumstances.
Black Sabbath can hide in shadows and is strongest there, but is vulnerable to light. By grabbing someone's shadow, Black Sabbath is able to forcibly drag out their souls, whereas grabbing a potentian stand sser's shadow would drag out their Stand.
Sonia: Love Deluxe because she has super long hair and I think it'd look cool as hell with her aesthetic.
Love Deluxe is attached to the user's hair, enabling it to grow to huge lengths, be used as extra appendages, and can be strong enough to break through walls.
Akane: honestly tbh Magician's Red? It's strong and fiery and detects things, like Akane's enemy senses. Hard to think of a gymnastic Stand..
Huge flaming bird with fire powers. The fire can suffocate a target by burning oxygen, restrain them, and detect Stand energy and breathing.
Kazuichi: Aerosmith! Second best to a rocket is an airplane.
Tiny toy fighter plane that can sense carbon dioxide, as well as shoot a machine gun and drop a bomb.
Fuyuhiko: Sex Pistols?? For gun?? He doesnt really fight much, all we know is he takes pain well.
Six tiny guys who kick bullets around so the shooter never misses, unless the shooter is Guido Mista. They're sentient and split up, so, funky combo.
Chiaki: Atum aka the video game stand, duh
Atum's primary ability allows the user to steal souls from someone who has recognized defeat in a game, for example video games. It can also ask a nearby person's souls a yes or no question which the soul is obliged to answer, unbeknownst to the one being read.
Hajime: shit that's hard. I'm gonna go with Tusk because: truth bullets -> nail bullets, starts off really pathetic and weak and ends up literally dimension-breakingly strong, and uuh I love Johnny lol.
Tusk has four ACTs; first one shoots nail bullets, yes it's gross. Second shoots nail bullets where the hole made from them will seek out the intended target even if they miss. Third creates bullet holes that are also wormholes through time space, and the fourth is basically infinite damage in infinite dimensions, gravity and time defying, like this shit will destroy you.

Questions for the Mun - Accepting!
Tumblr media
🌟 - Who was your very first rp muse?
Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, in what feels like a million years ago. My first OCs + Relena Peacecraft from Gundam Wing soon followed.
💔 - What’s something you dislike about your muse?
I think this question has two answers, really: what do I dislike about the muse based on what's given/shown in canon, and what do I dislike about the muse due to the fandom.
For the canon, there are times where I just hate seeing Sonia being taken advantage of/teased/etc. because she's sheltered and just doesn't know better, but she also doesn't effectively stand up for herself a lot either. Maybe it's some of the tropes DR puts her in, but I'd love to be a bit more snarky to characters who are being rude, as opposed to issuing commands that never really stick.
Additionally, and these aren't really Sonia's fault but how she's written: why give her military knowledge and prowess and not let her USE IT? Yes, having all weapons and methods of transport disabled in the Neo World Program simulation makes sense, but at the end of DR3 where she just...encourages Kazuichi instead of picking up a gun or driving a tank? For as ridiculous as DR can be at times, surely they could fit some sort of military vehicle onto that ship that she could commandeer. Super lame.
And don't get me started on her free time events. I love some of what the free time events reveal, but the whole bit of "Hajime looks like this hero of legend and I'll just happily co-rule and give him power equal to mine in Novoselic!" thing is just not okay to me. I don't like it. Therefore, my Sonia is the monarch and any partner she takes is her consort, end of story.
For the popular fandom opinions, I abhor the take of "Sonia is useless/her talent is useless and sucks, Sonia should have died to give Kazuichi character development/Hiyoko could have lived, Sonia is boring" arguments. And of course the Get rid of Sonia so we can have Kazuichi/Gundham" take. I had this issue in the Gundam Wing fandom long ago with people hating Relena because she got in the way of Heero/Duo.
Y'all, these are bad takes. Don't do it. There is nothing wrong with being a kind, generous, friendly, compassionate female character.
🎲 - Do you have a favorite board game?
When I was younger, it was definitely Clue and Trivial Pursuit! To the point that I gave Sonia Cluedo as a favorite childhood game growing up: I think she'd enjoy it.
As an adult, I still love trivia, but I also enjoy Betrayal at House on the Hill and Cards Against Humanity. The horror, of recalling facts at the drop of a hat, a haunted house, and seeing just how much of a terrible/sarcastic person you can be.
Does anyone else remember online Cards Against Humanity but you're playing IC as your muse(s)? That should make a comeback.

me: we need to get more specific with the v3 kids ages cause right now we have: Shuichi, Kokichi, Kaede, Rantaro the same age, right now established to be about 4 years old when SDR2 & DR3 happen most of the non-dr parents having kids were probably born before Remnants were caught too. Kiibo could have been built as a toddler matching his peers in age. And then there's Himiko who, even if Sondam made her right after reuniting as a little happy accident would be near 5 years younger than that. Unless we change something she probably can't go to elementary with them even if FF try to force it, because she'd be 3 (if accounting for my idea, that they start at 8, and not 7, because of Naegi losing his leg when Shuichi is 7 & parents letting him stay at home to hang out with Naegi & ease off that anxiety, putting off school for a year, and FF frantically cancelling the scouting of Jabberwock kids to preserve their project)
firedemongaming: It's also possible that schooling on general was delayed by 2 years because it's still mid-tragedy, meaning Himiko would be 5. In which case they'd be able to get away with making her attend school
me: yeah, and it'd be framed as an opportunity for them, sending all of the island's kids to school at once, so they all travel to mainland at the same time, costs reduced etc etc, she can do things on her own pace, it'll be fineee
firedemongaming: It's also possible that she joined at the normal time but, for the sake of the project, FF made her skip a few grades at some point
you: I've actually been thinking about Himiko skipping a grade. I just think it'd be funny if she had like. ridiculously good grades even tho she sleeps all the way through class
firedemongaming: Did they use the fake memories to make her think she was the same age as the others for the killing game?
you: mmmmmmmmmaybe probably
firedemongaming: The alternative is she looked at Ryoma and thought 'oh, he must secretly be younger than the others as well'. Plot twist, Ryoma is actually a year older than everyone else
Yin: where DOES the shortness come from? like Gundam is 5'9 and Sonia is 5'7 where does 4'10 come in
you: maybe people in Novaselic are kinda short and Sonia is just a statistical outlier
me: the tiniest queen of Novoselic, but also consider: it's from Gundham's side, imagine him having a tiny and confused, but supportive mom that's nothing like him
firedemongaming: no, no, tiny dad, giant mum combo me: and the mom is goth? firedemongaming: Both are but not in the way Gundham is, Gundham is a chunnibyo, his parents are just normal but confused goths me: no, no, they're equivalent of Clark from Connecticut & Malfina, I see it clearly now
firedemongaming: Gundham took after his mom's height, Himiko took Gundham's dad's height. Himiko & Gundham's dad: Not fitting in the frame of family pictures with Gundham and his mum
me: a good reason to be picked up and held
you: someone walking around the 5th island when they hear a very small "nyeh" coming from one of the tanks lmao
Yin: every weird thing Himiko says that makes no sense is just a part of Novaselic culture lol
Teeniko in her tank what will she do

Dorm Opposites ch 2
Kazuichi had learned a lot about his roommate over the course of two days. One: For how eccentric Gundham acted, he was actually quite quiet, he really only talked at random or when he was spoken to. Other then that he only talked to his animals. Two: He was extremely introverted and socially awkward. He didn’t seem to know how to hold a normal conversation, and whenever Kaz brought up social events the boy seemed to get anxious, fiddling with the large scarf. Finally Three: Gundham was very observant, he would sometimes find Gundham staring at him, almost like he was analyzing Kazuichi. The boy had seemed to figure out all of Kazuichis nervous ticks, his entire schedule and even the fact that Kazuichi had brown hair and eyes. Though that was attributed to Gundham walking in on Kazuichi taking out his contacts, but his hair, Kaz had no idea. Maybe he saw some brown hair near his scalp, if so Kazuichi had to dye his hair again soon. Now it was the day that Kazuichi had told Gundham that they could go to the arcade together. Kaz was putting on a black tank top and loose gray pants, he put on his signature black beanie and brushed his teeth.  Gundham was in the bathroom, he took out a black t shirt with fishnet sleeve, black jeans with some kind of stitched on star on the pocket. he put on a chocker with a pentagram hanging from it, black nail polish, eyeliner, some rings and like 3 bracelets.  Kazuichi peeked into the bathroom. “Hey Gundham- Oh” Kazuichi ducked out, blushing. “Holy jesus, what is this?!?!? He’s so hot omfg” Kazuichi thought to himself, hand covering his mouth. Gundham walked out of the bathroom in his buckled up knee high boots. “Are you alright mortal, it looks like fire has taken over your very being. DO YOU NEED ME TO VANQUISH IT!” Gundham yelled, pointing at Kazuichi at the end. Kazuichi laughed and shook his head, “No Gundham i’m fine, let’s head out now and have some fun.” Kazuichi exclaimed with excitement. The world outside the academy walls was bustling and bright, their were busy restaurant's, bustling and bright Cafe’s, Movie theaters that smelled like popcorn. People, mostly college students walking around and chatting. Kazuichi never felt so alive and free, It was nothing like his old poor neighborhood. They soon found their way to a building colored in black and blue with bright rainbow letters saying “Marty’s arcade”. There was people walking all around the place, mostly teenagers and students their age walking around, chatting and playing colorful designed arcade machines. Kazuichi walked in, Gundham trailing behind him. Kazuichi looked around, excited and bouncy. He loved arcades, they were one of the most fun places in the world. Kazuichi had also stolen a machine once just to look at the mechanics, his dad had given him a lot of shit for it. Kazuichi turned to Gundham, “so what do you wanna do first edgelord?” The moment he finished though he noticed something was up. Gundham was looking around, his facial expression was confused and anxious. His hands were grabbing and twirling his scarf around. Kazuichi got a bit closer, “Hey Gundham, are you ok? what’s going on man?” Kazuichi asked, hushing his voice a bit. Gundham turned towards him suddenly, causing the mechanic to jump a bit in his shoes. “What is this place, Inventor of machines?” Gundham asked, tilting his head. Kazuichi’s mouth gaped open, “You’ve never been to a arcade??” Kazuichi was dumbfounded to say the least. Gundham looked away, and shook his head. The boy looked like he was internally shrinking in on himself.  Kaz grabbed his hand and Gundham flinched, “come on edgelord, i’m going to introduce you to the wonderful world of arcades!” Kaz yelled, grinning ear to ear. Gundham found himself smiling too, Kazuichi’s smile was infectious. Gundham laughed, “Ok!” Gundham replied and the two ran into the depth's of the game filled building.  Kazuichi and Gundhams first game was a zombie shooter game, not the best choice as both of them were scared out of their minds. Kaz was screaming while shooting at zombies, he was not very successful. Gundham was biting his lip while screaming curses that Kaz swore was a part of some other language he didn’t know. The both of them did eventually lose with terrified screams and Kaz jumping on Gundham like this was some scooby doo ripoff. Kaz got up on his hands and knee’s on the floor. Gundham was under him, eyes closed, stirring a bit. “The fall might have caused him to blackout”, on that thought entering his head he panicked. Kazuichi shook the dark haired boys shoulder maybe a bit rougher than he intended to. “Gundham, edgelord, tanaka, Gunny wake up” Kazuichi whisper yelled. Gundham stirred, his vision was blurry for a sec as he broke out of the haze. He turned over and saw Kazuichi, inches away from his face. “Um mortal, what are you doing?” Gundham asked, voice cracking, blushing bright red. Kazuichi scrambled to his feet, pulling down his beanie. “S-sorry, we fell.” Kazuichi muttered, face bright pink. Gundham got up, shaking his head a bit. They both decided to play a large version of pac man. Gundham looked at Kazuichi, “It’s all a matter of looking at and memorizing the patterns in puzzles like this. If you can do that, you’re guaranteed success” Gundham explained, though his voice was a lot softer. Maybe he was muttering to himself. Kazuichi shrugged turning to the game. Oh boy did Gundham wipe the floor with Kazuichi when it came to scores. They both battled fiercely but in the end Gundham, the supreme overlord of ice came out victorious. Kazuichi stood up, looking between the game and Gundham, who had just stood up calmly. “How did you do that!?” Kazuichi screamed, exasperated. Gundham tilted his head, “I just told you, I memorized the patterns in the puzzle, specifically the enemy ghosts, all but one move in a pattern, if you can figure out the pattern and track their movements, while also keeping tabs on the wild card you can win.” Gundham explained, raising his finger up, looking truly invested in the conversation for the first time since Kazuichi has met him. The boys spent the rest of the day playing games, and Kazuichi even got a cool sticky hand with his tickets. Gundham got a bag of sunflower seeds.  The moon was high in the sky and shining down on the world beautifully, illuminating the boys walk back to campus. Kazuichi looked at the boy, the boys dark hair with white streaks shone in the moonlight, and his red eye was almost glowing. Kazuichi had to admit he was beautiful, with the moon shining on him. “I don’t have a crush on him or anything, I’m just observing” Kaz thought, completely oblivious.... He heard a tiny yawn and looked at the boy. “Omg he yawns like a kitten” Kaz thought, totally not freaking out or anything. Kazuichi laughed, “You sound tired edgelord, are you doing ok” Kazuchi asked, stifling giggles. “I’m fine, I’m just tired. I don’t normally hang around a place with a lot of people, I’m just tired. I-i had fun though, I’ve never done this mortal thing before” Gundham smiled brightly, his voice was soft, with tired tones. Kazuichi smiled, this conversation was one of the more sentimental conversations he’s had with Gundham. “What about you? do you do this often?” Gundham asked Kazuichi, staring intensely at the pink haired college student. Kazuichi looked down, he wondered if he should get this personal but maybe, just maybe, he could trust his roommate. “Yes I did, but I hung around the wrong crowd, and sometimes we did bad things, so I had to leave the crowd, or i guess cast out when I wasn’t good enough anymore.” Kazuichi answered solemnly. Gundham stared for a moment, he wanted to comfort the boy but he didn’t exactly know how. So he decided to break it down in the only way that he knew how. “So you hung with a bad pride of lions, then you were banished or left” Gundham spoke in a quiet voice. Kazuichi tilted his head, confused. “What do you mean edgelord?” Kazuichi asked. “In nature when the dominant male lions return to their pride all the other males must either submit to their leader or be banished.” Gundham explained, eyes focused and steely. Kazuichi ran a hand through his hair, “I guess, I did try to fit in at first. But I was....betrayed by my fellow lions, so I left.” Kazuichi said, voice full of sorrow. Gundham frowned, maybe he could do this. He put a hand on Kazuichis shoulder, “It’s alright, you should always leave a situation that hurts you. I know how cruel mortals can be” Gundham said to Kazuichi. Kaz smiled, he felt a bit better, “Thanks Gunny, i feel a bit better” Kaz only realized what he said a second after he said it. Kaz blushed and started yelling nonsense, and Gundham hid himself in his scarf.  Once Kazuichi calmed down he proposed his question. “What about you? You said you’d never been to one?” Kazuichi asked, wiping his eyes quickly. Gundham took his hand off Kaz’s shoulders. “Well, i’m like a white tiger. Now tigers are already solitary creatures, they prefer to hunt alone. Most tigers have a orange with black stripes palate but white tigers have a white with black stripes pallete. They even stand out among their solitary species. Even if I tried to make friends, I never fit in. I don’t need mortal friends anyway” Gundham explained this before he started walking faster than Kaz, looking pretty upset. “......” Kazuichi didn’t know what to say, to never have any friends your entire life......that must be so lonely. Kazuichi caught up with him, “Gundham?” Kazuichi muttered, “Yes” Gundham looked over at him.  “Are we friends?” Kazuichi asked. Gundham stopped short, his whole world seemed to go into slow motion, friends?? “Y-you wanna be friends, with me?” Gundham stuttered, he sounded so confused. Kazuichi felt sad hearing that, he felt bad for his roommate, he probably didn’t understand. “Of course, Your kinda strange but, you’re very fun and kind.” Kazuichi tried to take it slow, he wanted to get it through to him. “Are you trying to trick me somehow, what’s your game. What do you want?” Gundham backed up from the boy, staring Kaz straight through his soul. Kazuichi shook his head, “Nothing, nothing Gundham. Nothing, I just want to be your friend. I don’t want anything, just calm down man, it’s ok.” Kaz soothed and Gundhams trembling shoulders slowly lowered. “I-i guess we can be friends, but beware mortal, for I am not to be trifled with!!!” Gundham’s personality switched back to normal. The boys soon walked home and they looked at each other before giving each other a high five before going into their dorm room. The two got changed into their nightclothes and went into their beds. “Goodnight edgelord” Kazuichi whispered to Gundham sleepily. “Goodnight.....Kaz”

Alright, DR tea for my DR accomplice
I wished that KuzuPeko was slightly “healthier”. Peko wasn’t raised as a person, but rather indoctrinated into devoting herself to Fuyuhiko. While I do believe that not all ships need to be wholesome, and some conflict and certain aspects can lead to some interesting development, Peko was groomed into liking him. It wasn’t Fuyuhiko’s fault, I’m going to make it clear: it was the Kuzuryu gang. And the fact that they both became despairs probably made the situation far worse. I would love to see a future development in which Fuyuhiko assists Peko in finding her humanity, learning how to be a person and either finding someone to truly love and see him as a brother or someone dear to him, or to have a genuine feeling.
Once again I’m going to defend the “77b were brainwashed” thing. It wasn’t something that the anime pulled out of nowhere – the Danganronpa 3 anime has TONS of issues, mostly because it was rushed and it was going to originally be a DR2 adaptation and somehow they decided to make two different animes with the budget and the runtime of one, of course it was a mess. But the brainwashing was an important plot point in the novel Danganronpa Zero, written by Kodaka himself. It was also stated during the last trial in Danganronpa 2 and a central point of Ultra Despair Girls – that, by the way, DRAE and DR2 were developed in tandem. Junko certainly had access to the brainwashing techniques thanks to Yasuke Matsuda, her BOYFRIEND and childhood friend – Mitarai was only a means to an end, they could even had have implemented it without him in the story. I believe that if they had more time or gone in with the idea of making a prequel+sequel from the get go things could have gone more smoothly. Oh, and maybe some studio other than LERCHE could have done a slightly better job. (at least it wasn’t DEEN)
Sonia isn’t an accessory for Gundham OR Hajime. And she isn’t “soft uwu” either. Despite being feminine and soft spoken, the game mentions on passing (and won’t make much of a fuss) that she isn’t some naïve girl, but already had sex, experienced alcoholic drinks and dabbed into politics, as expected of her position. Moreover she had full military training and can drive a tank! She can pretty much kick everyone’s ass, wearing high wheels and looking PRETTY while at it. She isn’t some damsel in distress, she can be the damsel who CAUSES distress. And people need to learn: it isn’t because a girl is being nice to you that she wants to get into your pants.
Oh god, the US translation ruined Tenko and the fandom ran with it. In the original Japanese version, it isn’t like that Tenko is a raging misandrist – but the translation cranked it up to eleven. She was always polite to Saihara, never threatened or mentioned outright physical violence towards him. She wasn’t the only one who suffered from a poor translation, both Ouma, Angie and Gonta also had horrid translations that butchered their characters, but Tenko had it really bad that also stimulated an unhealthy fandom culture. It is really a shame in my opinion: we had an interesting character with Sakura, and having another girl being a martial artist in a slightly different take could have been a great opportunity to explore the philosophy and discipline of martial arts and the respect for all people… But we can’t have nice things. I’m not hating on Tenko, I blame NIS for making a piss poor job, and they already did a questionable job with DR2, but this time they outdid themselves in the shit department.
I also have strong feelings about Danganronpa V3 in general. The first chapter was very strong and well-written, but it soon loses its energy and spirals into spitting the fandom in general. We had an interesting build up, with many characters that were hit or miss, but it sounds like that they were “forced” to follow the exact mold of the previous games and then decided to make that meta joke in the end…Maybe it was because the Persona 5 lore shenanigan plot twist was still fresh in my mind and was handled in a very nice way, but I felt slapped in the face. Somebody mentioned that you were supposed to read the interviews and some meta before playing, but I don’t think it works for me: a narrative, either in a game or a movie (I’m looking at you, KK’s Star Wars trilogy), must be self-contained and all the important info pertaining in the story must be told in universe and not by ‘word of god’ or meta commentary. It was a good idea, but I believe it could have been handled better. I don’t know if there was some executive meddling, something that changed along the way, something that didn’t land or if it is just me. All the games and spin-offs have strong and weak aspects, and because I like the franchise I think it is important to recognize that. I liked the bait-switch protagonist concept, the idea of someone going back into the Killing Game and being brainwashed again in order to end it all, having the characters question if maybe it is REALLY a good idea….Then congratulations! You have been watching Big Brother and fandom takes itself too seriously!!! PSYCHE!!!! LOOOOOOLZ!!!!!!!

Oi! Welcome to to the dangan imagines circles! I'm excited to see you around! I've got a little request for ya, if you'll choose to accept: some dangan characters getting a new pet! I've for sure like to see Rantaro, Sōda, and Ishimaru. Oh! Kiibo too! Anyone else would be appreciated! Have fun with it!
Tumblr media
Aww! I love animals! It’s also refreshing to see a request with DR1 and SDR2 characters; Ishimaru and Souda are Good Bois™
♣ Mod Junko ♣
Ishimaru, Asahina, Souda, Sonia, Amami and K1-B0 adopting a pet!
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
Taka would be the most likely to get a cat. Affectionate, cuddly, but not too high maintenance (plus Mondo likes cats, so he partially got the cat for his best bro too).
We all know Taka has more book smarts than people smarts… He also has more book smarts than animal smarts. Beforehand, he’d spend hours and hours researching the proper ways to take care of a pet, then he’d narrow it down to cats exclusively, then the breed of cat he was considering. A cat is a living, breathing being, Taka knew this, of course. He wanted to make sure his new companion would be safe and happy.
At first, Taka would seem confident in his ability to care for an animal, but once he actually brought it home, the nerves would settle in. What if something happens to it? What if it ended up hating him?
No! He couldn’t think like that! Confidence is key! Besides, he had already done so much research, it was highly unlikely anything would go wrong.
In the end, Taka was a great cat caretaker. A little black tom cat, gentle and calm. He’d follow his owner around, lay on Taka’s lap as he studied. Taka found himself talking to his cat like he was a person on more than one occasion. At first he was embarrassed, but he enjoyed their conversations.
If you can believe it, his cat in a way made Taka lighten up a bit more. Now, he had someone to take care of, something more important than studying. Now, Taka of course was still a study happy teenager, but he had calmed down quite a bit after adopting his new friend. Once again, it goes to show what a furry friend can do for your mental health.
Aoi Asahina
The energetic Hina would of course adopt an equally hyper dog. Someone she could exercise with, have fun with, and someone who would always be able to cheer her up when she was sad.
When it comes to taking care of a pet, or, anything, Hina prefers to trust her gut. How difficult could taking care of a dog really be anyway?
She drug Sakura along when they went to the adoption center. Hina trusted her best friend to help her pick out the perfect companion. They settled on a happy young golden retriever. Hina was so excited to take the dog home that Sakura had to remind her that they needed to buy food, dishes, toys etc. before they could leave.
The first thing Hina did was build her dog its very own dog house. She intended to have it live inside with her, but every dog needed a dog house regardless. Hina’s not as bad of a carpenter as you’d expect. The dog house ended up looking really nice, and her furry companion loved it.
They quickly got into a routine of morning jogs around the neighborhood, 100 laps in the swimming pool (which ended up being around 50 or so since most of the time was spent splashing each other), afternoon squats, push-ups and lunges around the house, evenings spent playing fetch in the park, and nighttime cuddles (with a little rough housing mixed in). There was hardly any downtime, but neither of them minded at all.
Hina loved her dog unconditionally. She was usually a bright and cheery girl, but the amount of sadness she did feel seemed to lessen ever since she adopted her pet. She swore to always love and protect it, no matter the cost!
Kazuichi Souda
Kazuichi’s a little wary around animals, but he’d been wanting to get a bird for some time, so eventually he shrugged off his nerves and bought himself a parrot.
Kazuichi didn’t really want to keep it locked up in a cage, so he let it roam around his garage. It ended up escaping a few times, so he had to swallow his pride and ask Gundham for help. The bright side to asking Gundham for help was that Kazuichi managed to pick up a few tips and tricks. After a few failed attempts, he was able to lure the bird back home himself.
Another reason Kazuichi adopted a pet was to impress Sonia. He knew she liked animals, and maybe having a bird around would get her to think more highly of him. Well, she thought highly of the bird, but her distaste for the mechanic was still there. However, whenever Sonia would stop by to visit the parrot, it would excitedly squawk “Miss Sonia!” and flutter over to the princess to rest on her shoulder. As time went on, Kazuichi would find himself growing more and more attached to his parrot. So much so that he even tried to keep it away from Sonia.
As he tinkered with machines, cars, tools, anything he could take apart, he’d teach his parrot new words and new phrases. It ended up learning some… vulgar language, but it was actually kind of hilarious. Kazuichi would toss a berry up in the air and the parrot would swoop down to catch it in its beak. It’s safe to assume that the bird ended up being smarter than its owner.
Sonia Nevermind
After spending so much time with Gundham and his hamsters Four Dark Devas of Destruction, Sonia decided she wanted a pet of her own. Originally she wanted to get something exciting and exotic, like a tiger or a zebra, but even being a princess, these kinds of animals were hard to come by. Plus they were wild animals, not meant to be kept as pets. So, she decided to compromise, and adopted a chinchilla.
This chinchilla was treated like royalty. It had its own house the length and width of a king sized bed. It was fed its own special food made by its own personal chef (yes, Sonia hired a chef for her chinchilla), and Sonia even bought it cute little sweaters and hats.
She took it everywhere with her. You’d scarcely see Sonia without her chinchilla cradled in her arms or resting on her shoulder. She’d read it stories before bed, and sing it lullabies. It’s fair to say she treated it more like a small child than an animal.
Whenever she had questions, Sonia would consult Gundham for answers. She loved her little friend, she wanted to make sure she was a good parent. She’d bring her chinchilla over to Gundham’s so all of their pets could have play dates.
Eventually Sonia adopted another chinchilla so it wouldn’t be lonely. Her duties as a princess kept her busier than she would have liked, but she still made sure she had time for her beloved pet.
Rantaro Amami
Since Rantaro travels a lot, he wanted a pet who was tough and loyal, a pet he could take with him on adventures. What better companion than a German shepherd?
Having twelve sisters, it should come as no surprise that Rantaro has had his fair share in experiences with animals. He knew how to care for all sorts of animals, from fish to ferrets, lizards to cats and all things furry, feathery or scaly.
Out of everyone, he’d be the most responsible pet owner, despite dragging it along on all of his adventures. With all of the moving around they did, the dog grew very strong. Yet, it was one of the kindest creatures Rantaro had ever seen.
He’d bring it over to his sister’s so they could play with it. It was a big dog, but it was gentle with the girls. Rantaro even said at one point that the dog had wisdom beyond its years, which was true.
Adventuring was fun, but Rantaro was content for the down time they did have. He’d lay in bed and his dog would jump onto the bed with him. No matter how many times he pushed it off, it kept persisting. Eventually Rantaro gave up and let his dog sleep with him at the end of his bed. But he’d always wake up with it laying on top of him.
K1-B0
You think Taka was obsessive with pre adoption research? He has nothing on Kiibo. Kiibo read every book, every article, he even had Miu build him a robotic prototype so he could have practice caring for a living being. What animal did he end up adopting after going to all that trouble? A single betta fish.
But he loved this fish. All those crude insults Kokichi would spew about Kiibo being an emotionless robot? Just spend five minutes with Kiibo as he gushed about his fish and you wouldn’t even consider the possibility that Kiibo didn’t have a heart of some sort.
He would trail his finger on the outside of the tank, and his fish would follow it around. He taught it to jump out of the water to grab a piece of food from in between his fingers.
Once he felt confident enough with his fish care capabilities, Kiibo bought more fish to keep the betta company. Guppies, tetras, mollies and colorful snails inhabited his newfound aquatic empire. He was immensely proud of how well his fish were fairing. He’d boast constantly about how good of a pet owner he was. Miu would always cheer him on, but of course Kokichi called him arrogant and said that taking care of fish wasn’t anything to get all excited about.
But Kiibo didn’t care. He loved his fish more than anything, and that’s all that mattered to him.

Both trials four and five have finished!
I’ll skim over trial four because it’s kind of boring.  The starving to death idea was kind of nice though, and I like that the game takes away your run control because Hajime is so exhausted.  The writers were able to pull off a murder pretty well with the characters they were given since none of the people there were exactly willing to kill their friends to get away.  Having a character with the mentality that it would be easier for two people to die than everyone is definitely a mentality that one of the people there would have.  If that was the case, though, why Gundham didn’t up and say he was the one who did it.  Pride, maybe?  Hajime said that he kind of easily admitted to what he did and I guess that’s true, but why did he go to such lengths during his crime not to be found out?  Did he really believe in his classmates that much that they’d figure out what happened, even though the two things he didn’t predict (the broken handle, and Fuyuhiko in the lounge) were the main factors for catching him.  It doesn’t add up.  I’m sure if I really wanted to try to justify it I could, but I don’t care enough to try.  Trial four was kind of boring.  I didn’t dislike it, but figuring out the funhouse wasn’t exactly riveting.  Oh, and there must be a problem with the PC port because the game glitched out and I had to reset three times: when I visited the funhouse for the first time, when I went to talk to Akane right before Hajime was going to try his hand at the escape game, and when I was walking down the hall from one of the towers to…do something.  I can’t remember what we were trying to do.  That was annoying.  It’s nothing wrong with the plot or anything, it’s probably just a bug with the port.
Chapter four was just the calm before the storm though because chapter five is nuts.  It goes everywhere, to bombs, traitors, Nagito being weirder than usual, fire, and so much more!  I had a lot of fun with it.  The massive, massive trap set by Nagito was crazy.  Nagito’s crazy.  I already knew he had a few screws loose, but someone must have gotten a screwdriver and unscrewed the rest of them.  Or not, because he already seemed willing to sacrifice whatever for hope or something.  He’s really desperate to be called the Ultimate Hope, huh?  Yeah, I’d be excited to throw away the “Ultimate Luck” title too.  Everyone knows that’s the worst stat.  But THE TRIAL.  OH BOY, THE TRIAL.  The execution!  I already knew Chiaki was going to die near the end of the game because spoilers are really hard to avoid, but I didn’t know why or how she did.  It already sucked that everyone I liked was dying, but she was one of my favorite characters!  And I already liked Monomi and felt sorry for her.  Seeing that image of them holding hands and waving bye was both the worst and best things ever.  I mean, other than that, this chapter also killed off the two people that actually figure stuff out during the trial.  Come on, man, I still have, like, one more trial to go through.
Anyway, I felt the tension and friendship between the characters when Hajime named Chiaki the traitor so much more heavily than the last chapter in the first game.  The new voice clips when Hajime is taking apart people’s defense of her certainly doesn’t help.  I’m not saying the first game did a bad job at establishing friendship, but it helps that I like all of the characters still alive and is invested in the protagonist.  I don’t know why, but the friendships seem more…real in this one, I guess I could say?  I’m more invested in the second game’s plotline and characters than the first so that might be why.
Oh, and Byakuya isn’t dead?  I’m stuck somewhere between “so close,” and “good, I was actually kind of missing him.”  It means that his impostor has a better personality than him so ha.  Joke’s on him.  'Sides, we already have a much better “asshole blonde who is heir to family power and prestige”.  I’m so glad Fuyuhiko hasn’t been killed off so far.  Please, please, I want him to make it to the end of the game.  He’s become so much more likable since the beginning.  ALL OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS ARE DYING.  Barring Hajime, of course, but he has handy Plot Armor.  …Maybe.  Probably.  Oh, geez, I hope he makes it to the end of the game too.  Will he?  I mean, I saw that Makoto will come back as the lead of Danganronpa 3 so… crap, Hajime could die.  Hopefully he’s just busy with other stuff.  Man, I’d have so opted for Ibuki over Akane.  I like Akane alright, don’t get me wrong, but I liked Ibuki so much more.  Is Akane related to Hina in some form or another?  Or did they design her after Hina for the fanservice?  I’m kind of thinking the latter but I’m not sure.
Anyway, I could tell that Nagito was going to be killed off just from the chapter’s title alone but I certainly did not expect that he would try to kill everyone.  What’s his problem?  I think it’s safe to assume that his story isn’t over yet, though.  Finding his body was brutal, not gonna lie.  I really felt what Hajime was feeling–he was crazy but he didn’t deserve that to happen to him.  Then, “wow, I can’t believe I felt sorry for you.”
On the topic of Hajime, he has no ultimate skill.  If it wasn’t treated like how it was in the game, it could have been a joke because of how anticlimactic it was.  The game went in the opposite direction and I don’t really mind.  Either one would have worked.  Talent aside, I like him so much better than Makoto.  Admittedly, that’s not very difficult considering how low the bar was, but I still really like him.  He has a reason for believing in his friends–it’s not a blind faith.  Basically, he’s Makoto except with a more realistic personality.  He’s friendly and sociable, but he’s not stupid.  Not Makoto-bashing and all but…he was a really flat protagonist in a story and character-driven game.  That’s generally not really a good idea.
Oh, and you asked me what ships got my attention?  None really.  I’m not really much of a shipper.
I don’t proofread these things.  On a scale one to ten, how obvious is it? cx

I think Gundham didn’t say anything less because he had faith in them, and more because he didn’t want to die. He would if he had to, but if they failed to figure it out and he got to live? That was also okay with him. I feel the murder motivation was good, as was the murder mystery itself. And yep, I liked the little detail of Hajime losing his ability to run as he got hungrier and hungrier.
Trial 5 is such a great trial. The mysteries! The emotions! The execution! I loved Chiaki to bits too, broke my heart what happened to her (and Monomi! Poor Monomi!). Poor Hajime’s going to have to do everything from now on. Also yes, agreed about the voice acting. I like his Japanese seiyuu too, but JYB is so great in the latter half of the game.
I seriously urge you to avoid spoilers for Chapter 6 (sucks you got spoiled on Chiaki). Seriously. All the secrets come out there, and they are good ones. Blacklist everything related to DR on Tumblr. Don’t look at any of my DR posts besides this one (since I don’t spoiler anything, it’s very very hard to do that in this fandom). Go into an Internet coma.
Ahaha yep, Byakuya’s like a tumor--he grows on you even though you don’t want him to. I really like the Imposter though (and YES Fuyuhiko is much, much better than Byakuya. Right up there with Hajime and Chiaki as my top three faves).
He might, he might not~
Akane’s not related to Aoi, it’s the latter. I also would have preferred Ibuki over her, or hell, even Hiyoko. Akane just kinda...stops contributing. Or developing (and that’s a far worse crime in my eyes).
You’ll find out Nagito’s problem later. But yes, he was insane and brilliant and much as I don’t like him, I was also really shocked by his body. Because that was a really brutal way to go. You really have to respect the sheer fortitude he had to do that to himself.
Hajime being so ordinary is what’s so great about his character. He’s nothing special and that gives him SUCH a huge complex. Because DR’s world only cares about special people, and he’s not, and that tanks his self-esteem. That’s what makes him so relatable to the audience, I think, because who here hasn’t wanted to be recognized as someone special?
7-ish? You ramble, but that’s a good thing, and I never spot any obvious errors!
