so you know how in romeo and juliet there’s a scene where sampson (or someone in juliets family i don’t do names) bites their thumb at romeo and the gang and then someone is like “oi bruv is you biting your thumb at us mate?” n shit? well that’s bcoz in shakespeare’s time this would be the equivalent to flipping someone off

where am i going with this? well, it also happens that one of my tics when i get frustrated is biting my thumb, so it feels like i’m inadvertently telling the world to fuck off

and coz it’s not a common insult any more, that means not many people notice it and think “huh xe’s flipping that person off”

and that makes me feel powerful
