it’s 2022 and i am extremely sad about the 1918 murder of anastasia nikolaevna romanova grand duchess of imperial russia and her family :(

#anastastia the musical was so goood #but i'm always devastated at the end of that story to remember that the fairy tale DIDNT come true #the dowager empress was a real woman who really lost her entire family and she just spent ten years getting conned by fake anastasias #and then died alone #i dont know shit about the politics of that time and place but that's sad even if she did shitty stuff like most royals #and those teenage girls had no control over the family they were born into no one deserves to die like that #also little Alexei of course #also anastasia always makes me miss my grandma who was definitely classy and elegant enough to be a queen #and damn it makes me sad that i'll never hug her again #it was her birthday last week so shes on my mind #anyway SAD #the musical itself? gorgeous #couldve cut a song or two from the second act tho #cough cough land of yesterday #also dmitrys voice cracked during My Petersburg and i felt SO BAD FOR HIM #maybe it was just the mic shorting out but either way ouch #still well done though #fixed their year of death in this post oops
