TEYRN - Song Descriptions

Okay !! So mind yall, this is for my story and my interpretation of Loghain and his character ♥ if you have a different interpretation of his character that’s cool !! :”) and if yours is similar to mine then great !! let’s cry together alkdfkfg

World Falls Away: Main story Loghain! It’s about his struggle with trying to steer Ferelden in the “right” direction with all the hard decisions that he’s making that he keeps trying to justify that he’s making to save Ferelden. It’s also lowkey talking about how sad and lonely he is now that everyone he loves is gone. The part where it’s like “I don’t need friends when I have foes like you” is @ the Wardens and the “and I am just the same as you” is kind of @ Howe and how he’s no better right now than the enemies he thinks he’s trying to prevent.

Cold: A @ the people he loves in his life and kind of about his character change? And I say character change because I feel like if Maric, Rowan, Celia, etc. were in his life during Origins he wouldn’t make the decisions he did. I think after everyone died he low key panicked because Ferelden was in trouble again and he worked so hard with Maric and Rowan to save it and now it might crumble because of Cailan and he just CANNOT let that happen so he does whatever it takes to save Ferelden.

Hate Me: About Loghain’s regrets! Another song I picture is an @ Maric, Rowan, Celia, Anora, etc. everyone in his life that has like – helped him grow? But at the same time, he felt like he disappointed so he no longer deserves their love and respect.

Savin’ Me: Redemption! It’s after you’ve recruited him in to the Grey Wardens where’ he’s pondering whether or not he can atone for his actions. It’s like an @ the Warden to help him go through this redemption arc and like the main part is like “Say it if it’s worth saving me.”

One Last Breath: Another redemption song! I like to think of this as another more so he’s leaning on the Warden ( -cough- Ailonwy -cough-) for atonement and development song. And this is also more so on when they’re closer and he considers them a friend!

Bent: This is where we veer away from like – canon Loghain to my interpretation of Loghain and more specifically my story because this is a playlist for Loghain in my story! So this is pre-relationship with Ailonwy and it’s kinda like he’s on the verge of having feelings for her but at the same time he’s just so broken and sad that he’s still trying to put himself back together before anything.

If You Could Only See: REALIZATION AILONWY LOVES HIM! But he doesn’t act on it and it’s where he starts to push her away because fuck that he cannot deal with emotions, he’s 3x older than her, he doesn’t deserve her, she deserves someone who hasn’t done so much wrong and who’s by her age and who isn’t like sad and broken.

Let Me Go: @AILONWY !!! ;A; So this is him resigning himself that he and her can’t be and she needs to stop loving him – immediately. She’s making everything more complicated than it needs to be.

Better Than Me: WHEN AILONWY GETS W NATHANIEL !!! LISTEN !!! alkdjfk so after Ailonwy confesses to Loghain that she loves him he rejects her immediately. However, before that they were close and had this like – friends w benefits kind of relationship because that’s fine !! You don’t have to love someone to have sex with them and he sees that Ailonwy loves him but he’s like F that !! And this is about that and missing that relationship they had before she ends up with Nathaniel.

Surrender: This is @Ailonwy and while she’s dating Nathaniel. It’s like realization that he does love her back (LISTEN !! LEAVE ME ALONE ;A; ) and he’s like shit and he wishes they could be but at the same like -insert all of Loghain’s issues he believes that will make their relationship not work –

Exit Wounds: THIS IS PURE SELF-INDULGENCE TBH ??? I JUST LOVE THIS SONG SO FUCKING MUCH ??? But anyways alksdfjkf my justification is like Loghain pining for Ailonwy while she’s with Nathaniel. That’s it alkdfjfk listen everyone needs to listen to this song and sob for 5 hours straight at least once in their life

Into The Ocean: Healing! About how Loghain is like trying to atone and become better and things are hard honestly, but he’s making progress however, at the same he also feels kind of stuck and also the occasional thought like I hope I’m making Maric, Rowan, Celia, proud now (LISTEN !! HE…HAS LOVED SO MUCH IN HIS LIFE LAKDJF)

It’s Not Over: Okay so Loghain and Ailonwy don’t get together until like – 7 years after Origins alkdflkf and it’s only when like she’s dying that he’s like fuck okay. Because when she’s dying he realizes that like – the people he loved in his life that he never got a chance with (MARIC & ROWAN) because he always put duty and obligation first and that was the same thing he was doing with Ailonwy and it’s kinda like – I gotta tell her if she makes it out of it because like this is your second chance to just be happy for once ?? And not listen to your head first.

Hanging By A Moment: Ailonwy lives! <3 and they’re together and he’s happy and healing and yeah ;u;

do u ever think about if loghain was 18/19 when he and Maric freed Ferelden in 9:02 Dragon then he would be 46/47 during origins and then if he and Ailonwy got together 7 years later he'd be 53/54 and if she got pregnant and gave birth three years later he'd be 56/57 MEANING that when their daughter (ive decided) is 20 he'd only be 76/77 so he could be there for most of her life 👌🏼
