Ahdkfldhf YESSSSSSS I read it a few years back and it's just been living in my brain rent free ever since. I've been into horror as a genre forever, but slashers were a bit more difficult for me to get into. My Heart is a Chainsaw got me fucking HOOKED though. Just. SO many thoughts and feelings about Jade filtering her trauma through slashers, the scene on the boat where she talks about how Jason was only looking for help and comfort when he pulled Alice into the lake, talking about how killers in slasher movies are associated with revenge where final girls are associated with justice and how killers and final girls are actually not all that dissimilar, her vehement refusal to be the final girl because the traits she associates with final girls are ones she thinks she doesn't possess... GOD I need to reread this book at some point its SO good....

I DESPERATELY need to read Don't Fear the Reaper still, it's been on my read-list for a while lol.
