⟨ EVENT 1. OPEN HOUSE ! ⟩

calling all residents of avengers campus, it’s time for an open house! avengers campus will be celebrating the start of the academic year with an open house to introduce all the wonderful opportunities avengers campus has to offer. there will be so much to offer in the next upcoming days for all audiences and attendees, so check it out. the event will be going from friday, 9/23, 4pm pst to thursday, 9/29, 12pm pst.

all the activities will happen daily, so feel free to check out the following open house schedule to find something that’ll catch your interest! whether you want to check out the new technology being created over in the laboratory belt or you want to try one of the various obstacle courses created by the avengers, make sure you check out the campus bulletin to keep track of any daily updates.

along with the daily activities will be a carnival held in the campus square with the rides and games being available for the entire duration of the event. rides for the event will include a carousel, rollercoaster, spinning teacups, rock climb, bumper boats, and a fun house! for games, try your luck at the bottle ring toss, balloon darts, basketball toss, mini golf, and more. 

all rides, foods/drinks, and games will be free, but feel free to donate if you would like to! all donations will be going directly to the ana foundation, meant to help citizens after super-related incidents - specifically, all money raised for the open house will go towards recovery efforts during missions.

timed or untimed: timed. friday, 9/23, 4pm pst — thursday, 9/29, 12pm pst. points: 100 points. requirements: no solo paras necessary; so long as you have a minimum of three interactions (sns or para) about the event, you will get the 100 points.

under the cut are going to be the list of daily activities, we’d recommend you keep your eye out for! 

the list of daily activities are as followed:

the avengers initiative  —  obstacle courses!  (located in: avengers compound)

think you have what it takes to be one of earth’s mightiest heroes? try one of their five different obstacle courses on for size! residents will get to swing, climb, dart, and pull their way through seven different obstacles per course, including a warped wall and salmon ladder! for a bigger challenge, race against the clock against your fellow peers to see who has the better time!

shield  —  escape rooms!  (located in: shield headquarters)

to be a shield agent, you need a keen sense for investigation. so, if you want to think like a field agent, try your chances at four different escape rooms! with plots like a murder mystery to a horror house, there's a room suited to any genre! you will get to work together with teams of four to six to try and find your way out. discovering clues and solving puzzles, can you make it out?

the laboratory belt  —  science fair!  (located in: each science facility + the shared land between them)

we’ve got some of the most brilliant minds of our generation here in avengers campus at the laboratory belt, all who have been incredibly hard at work on a variety of new projects. you will be able to listen to poster presentations from our scientists or even do some experiments for yourself! the campus has all sorts of sciences here, so there'll be something entertaining for all audiences.

champions university  —  trivia!  (located in: the main student union / lounge facility)

different trivia ranging from pop culture to ancient history to world geography will be hosted daily during the event. you can either join a team or compete separately as you go head-to-head for cool prizes starting from lego sets going all the way to full television sets! to make the stakes even higher, trivia winners will get 5 points extra credit in any class of their choice for all participating professors.

avengers campus  —  hover-carting!  (located in: outside, around the overall campus area)

avengers campus used to be home to stark motors, and nothing says honouring the old man’s legacy of trying to create the world’s first hover vehicle back in the 50s like using hover-carts and racing around the campus where he once walked! a track around the campus has been set up for you, or go off-roading as you can rent one for an hour or even try one on for a whole day around the whole campus. 

entertainment plaza  —  scavenger hunt!  (located in: outside + in all participating businesses)

the entertainment plaza will be hosting a scavenger hunt between all of the businesses. this is to give everyone the opportunity to see and enjoy all of the relaxing entertainment facilities the campus has to offer. head over to the entrance of the plaza where helpers will hand out your first clue. each day will be a different hunt for different prizes, so there’s additional incentive to check out!

champions university, shield, the laboratory belt, the avengers initiative, the entertainment plaza, and the avengers campus itself will all be accepting applicants for jobs as well if you’re looking for a new position! champions university will also be running resume and cover letter workshops as well.

The sound of a Quinjet roared throughout the base as one came in landing with the doors opening revealing Leonidas in his full body armor coming off the advanced carrier. He looked around his thoughts only focused on the next mission with his hands coming up to his helmet taking it off listening to his footsteps watching everyone move around the base. 

“ Agent Leonidas!  ” A voice stated catching the S .W .O .R .D agents attention watching his commanding officer rush to him.. 

“  What is it?  ” Leonidas asked keeping a calm gaze on him. 

“  Sir, there has been a murder at the Cliffs Edge while you were gone also there was also a break-in at the Oscorp Labs  ” His ally said which only prompted a  soft sigh from the other. 

“  Get all available S.W.O.R.D. Agents on it.... this includes the ones in training.... hopefully this should prove worthy as their final test and for them to finally get some action after the Incident...  ”  Leonidas said with a calm tone starting to walk with his ally following him.

“  We already have a S.W.O.R.D.  Agent in training on it. His name is Asher Mora, looking over his file it seems his father was with the S.A.S before retiring in 2005. He’s a good kid, and  was very excited to be an agent until the incident struck ” his commanding officer stated

“  Good he’ll do for that one, Have you gathered anyone else?  ” Leonidas asked. 

“ Well. we do have one arriving shortly...  “ The commanding officer answered with the doors opening revealing the arrival of another individual catching Leonidas’ attention.

Daryl had a bunch of colorful and fluffy stuffed bears, dogs, and many other types of animals all hanging off his arms. He had been hitting the games like a mad man and now he had more toys then he knew what to do with. At first he was thinking of just piling them in his room on his bed and just using them as some kinda extra pillow, then he was worried he might use them for target practice. Daryl gets bad ideas like that so he wants to find these animals a home before he makes a list of bad decisions with them. “hey there,” Daryl says holding out a stuffed animal to another person he’s passing by. “Wanna give this lil’ one a home? Got mre’ an I can handle and a bed that ain’t big enough for all of em.”

Seth had his supplies in hand and faced the person who just sat down across from him.  “Alright here’s the deal.  It’s $5 for your choice of image.  $3 for random dealer’s choice.  I promise everything will be family friendly.”  Seth was a professional, of course, and he wanted to prove it!  “I guarantee all face painting is totally unique and I will never use the same design twice.”

peter was standing halfway on the sand between the water and campus, hand just above his brow as he blocked the sun, dressed in his board shorts and whatever pun related tee he grabbed first. “please tell me you have some sun cream on you? i forgot mine at the apartment and i can already tell this is going to end badly if i don’t reapply some pretty soon.” he paused for a moment, eye widening as he remembered more forgotten items. “do you also happen to have a spare towel?”

there’s a man frantically looking for a girl. he seems distressed, and he goes up to you panicked asking if you’ve seen her. he barely waits for you to respond before looking off to see the girl standing there. he seems agitated at the sight of her, but he looks worried too, and he runs over to her and picks her up into his arms. he hisses something at her before they walk off, falling into the busy crowd.

jesse had been enjoying the festivities when this strange event suddenly occurred.

at first, he believes that perhaps the girl is lost ; maybe just forgotten her phone with him, maybe just dropped something, who th'hell knows ? but then, it's as though he's scoopin' her up like a ragdoll 'n treatin' her like that too.

and jesse ... he's all for bein' rough with'yer woman if s'all consensual, but this ... this looks borderline abusive.

he's tryin' to follow the couple, perhaps maybe even save her like she's the damsel in distress.

you’re just about to join the alternate reality game event when you can hear yelling. at first you think: oh — it must be part of the game. but then you realise that it’s coming from outside the barred areas. when you look off, you have to squint a little bit, but you can see a man and a woman yelling. on the ground, there’s a young girl with them, just looking between them. before you can try to investigate what’s going on, you have to join the others.

it’s rude to stare , yes , but jane’s eyes are GLUED to the scene . more specifically , they’re fixed on the little girl , minding her safety while the world directly around her is in disarray . they must be her parents . what could there be to GRIPE about at an occasion like this ? in any case , jane knows all too well the paralyzation fear and unease can cause , especially to a young girl WAY out of her element . she makes to go , but her group is next . she plans to run and find out the girl’s fate after this quick game .

but she’s gone when jane comes out the other side .

there’s a little girl standing near one of the exhibits. when you go over to talk to her, she simply stops and stares at you. something about her stare is unsettling. as if she’s seen more than a child should — a wide-eyed, empty stare. when you go to ask if she’s okay, she shrugs. she tells you she lost her toy. you offer to go help her find it, but she shakes her head as she walks off. you’re about to go after her, but she maneuvers the crowd and disappears.

Help was all Mantis wanted to do. The poor girl, she seemed so alone and so in need. Mantis's approach seemed to not even faze her much less offer her comfort. She was unsure what she could without touching her and finding the real root of the problem. Something about this toy meant so much to her that if she could only feel and see the connection between them Mantis is sure she could find the toy in no time.

But when Mantis got close the child started to leave. Mantis persisted, calling out to her but she was gone before Mantis knew it. She spent as much time as she could looking for her. Excusing herself between groups, pushing past when she caught even a glimpse of the girl. But she was well and truly gone.

Something felt odd about the encounter, but Mantis could not put her finger on why.

it’s the last day of the festival. you see a man there. he’s on the phone demanding to know where “she” is. the man looks frustrated, sleepless, and when your eyes meet, he looks away, slamming his fist on one of the booth tables causing the booth host to jolt. he seems to apologise quietly before walking off, still on the phone. the crowd swallows him up, and you can’t see where he goes next.

"Oi Bruv' wait!" Asher said looking at the man and seeing him furstratingly slam his hand on the one of the booths sighing softly. "Damn.. must be goin' through a hard break up... or... shite..." He said to himself wanting to chase after him but.... just like that he could no longer see him. "Damn it..."

you’re just enjoying some of the music festivities when you can spot a young couple from the corner of your eye. they seem to be okay at first glance, but when you look at them a little further; it’s clear that something about the couple is not what meets the eye. they look stressed, like something’s bothering them. but when the couple looks at each other, they both look away wordlessly and stand up. they hold hands as they walk away, but their interlocked hands are limp at their sides.

Daryl is known to be very observant, he doesn't know if it's the best thing about his character but when you track for your meals most of your life it's best to be able to pick up on small details. Whether they're used for tracking your next meal, the assailant your tracking down, or just noticing the people around you are acting strange the skill is useful and he can't seem to turn it off most days. And while Daryl can't explain why he's noticing troubling signs from this couple they're just screaming them at him.

He doesn't know if it's how they can't seem to look at each other or the way their body language is screaming that they don't want to be together right now. Or maybe not here. But it's clear something has changed with them recently, at the very least, and drastically. The way they left, how limp their hands were was odd. it brought back something in Daryl's mind but the image of the couple lingers in his mind after they disappear from view. He's been standing here watching them for so long he gets asked if he's okay, he just brushes the person off and goes where the couple last stood.

No way to track them here, not now, and nothing else he can do or so it's best that he leave it be. Even if he's still thinking about the oddity of their interaction at such a happy festive event.

the weather’s getting a little bit chilly today of all days. it’s been warm for a while this week, but today is the exception — with a gentle breeze going underneath the summer sun. a couple is just walking side by side with each other when the girl shivers. the boy looks over and hands her his jacket. she stares at it for a moment before taking it carefully, wrapping it around herself as the boy looks away.

oh , that’s darling enough to make a man SICK . or maybe that’s the two ( 2 ) funnel cakes richie’s inhaled over the last hour . in any case , as he pulls his own coat a little tighter over his shoulders , he fails to fight the smirk that pulls at his lips , noting the boy’s … hesitation ? UNCERTAINTY , maybe . but she seems content , at least , as she bundles up . something tugs at richie’s heartstrings . gross . he takes his eyes off the couple and his course goes right , toward another funnel cake stand , grim LONELINESS tucked right back into it’s cozy little drawer in his mind .

a young couple walks around the festival, and they look to be doing well. the boy is standing in front of her while the girl plays with her bracelet as she waits for him to finish the carnival game he’s playing. he sighs, running a hand through his hair before slamming the table counter a bit when the bottles don’t knock over all the way. she jumps, lightly grabbing his arm, before leading him away.

rikki's watching from afar, debating whether or not to give the game a shot herself. festivals usually aren't her thing. there's too many people, too many screaming kids, though she'd have to admit the rides were almost worth it.

the sight of the couple makes her feel uneasy. they seem kinda cute, at first, enough that she would've faked dramatically gagging had they been friends of hers, but then the girl practically jumps out of her skin when the boy does something just the slightest bit aggressive. and rikki's no idiot. that kind of reaction only comes with trauma and abuse.

her instinct is to approach, to kick up a fuss and make sure the girl's okay. she starts to stomp towards them, hands balled into fists ready to kick up a storm should it be needed. and then she stops. it dawns on her that maybe it's not such a good idea. she doesn't want to make things worse, if the boy is hurting her. so instead she promises herself to keep an eye on them, and if she catches the girl alone, to check that she's okay.

as you sit under the fireworks and watch in awe, you notice movement out of the corner of your eye. a couple sits together and watches the fireworks. you don’t know why they spark your interest, so you look away, only for you to glance back when you realise something is strange. it’s almost as if there’s a giant wall between them, both sitting at the far edge of their shared blanket. it strikes you as weird. you’ve seen the couple perfectly happy before… what changed?

At first Grace was truly liking the fireworks, "Ooh's" and "Ahh's" were coming from everyone in the crowd reacting to the good ones. But then a few red and orange ones in a row etched into Grace's eyes. The booms of the fireworks and the smell of the gunpowder brought her back to the horrible dreams she was having. Grace tried to calm herself down, reminding her that she wasn't in her dreams right now. She was safe. She was around other people.

Looking around, to affirm herself, Grace's eyes landed on the couple that was slightly in front of her. She smiled, having known them from around campus, but the more she looked at them the stranger they seemed. Turning to see if anyone else was seeing what she was, Grace turned back to find the couple on completely opposite ends of the blanket. It was as if the two barely knew each other, not like the happy couple she knew and loved.

Grace forced herself to break her gaze and look back up at the fireworks. She'd take fighting off a panic attack over whatever the weird thing in front of her was.
