My Contradiction headcanon is that Rebecca probably got a miniscule sentence: wrongful or negligent death charge at most. Because, a) she's minted and could afford a good laywer, b) so much of the evidence Jenks dug up is not admissible in court because of his... dubious procedure (theft, burglary, questioning her, and pressuring a confession with reading her rights/not recording). So basically, all she has to say is that she saw Kate fall into the lake and didn't attempt to save her. As long as she doesn't mention the stick shebang. And given that Jenks contaminated so much of the evidence, that's dubious, too. Girly is 100% in the clear and out within a handful of years at MOST
