They're never gonna make a megop dynamic that's as good as IDW ever again and the sooner I accept that the sooner I'll be able to curb my disappointment when every continuity from now until the end of time makes Megatron and Optimus' story "Megatron is the gladiator/writer who actually has protagonist energy because he has goals and is starting a conflict against the government (antagonist), and Orion is just his bestie/simp friend tagging along bc he had no ambitions until Megatron showed him the light" like oh my god give OP initiative for once in his life I'm begging

#actually this has been thd standard dynamic since tfp at least i think #squiggposting #in fairness idw megop also has this dynamic but like. i counter that with the fact that #M and OP spent their developmental years apart doing their OWN ACTIONS to fight the government #M was writing and trying to survive life as a miner and then a gladiator #OP was the commander of his own mini squad fighting in secret and in open battle against sentinel's forces #the point is that even tho IDW OP is also a Megs simp who was inspired by him to take action #OP was his own person before M and continued to grow his own ideals after M #he didnt hang on M's coattails to just 'sUpPoRT hIs fRiEnD' he was actually leading his own life #and idw op was super fucking cool he fought senate soldiers he worked with a rebellious senator #he stopped a bomb threat he saved sparks he led a squad of outliers he fought he lost friends #he was his own fucking person who is actually cool and interesting and driven and DOES THINGS
