“'GYEOM!” he hollers the minute the door swings open, barging into the practice room with plastic bags crinkled in his fist. his voice is almost instantly drowned out by the music, but he persists.  “they didn’t have any hotteok left so i got tteokbokki for later instead, and we can go out for fried chicken afterwards. i got you bubble tea too.” 

he watches yugyeom closely through the mirror, and soonyoung thinks to himself about how he’ll never get over how well the other dances despite his tender age. it’s raw talent in it’s purest form. even he can’t deny yugyeom of that - the way he breathes dance, how every step he takes is a delicate movement in itself. all soonyoung can do is admire. 

it’s why he’s almost reluctant when the music ends and yugyeom stops, almost as if he’s the one dancing, but he knows full well that yugyeom wouldn’t let himself be distracted halfway through any routine. soonyoung can’t help the genuine grin that blooms on his lips when he steps forward to ruffle his hair.

pride, he thinks, with a twitch in his chest. “you were amazing, as usual. did you choreograph that yourself?”

“Eggs? Check. Milk? Check. Cereal? Um...”

Jihoon is a sheltered child.

Being born prematurely always has its complications, and Jihoon’s possibly received the full blunt of it despite being a child of two very healthy parents. As a baby, all he did was cry, and has had death knocking on his door more than once. It got better as he grew older and was able to take vitamins and solid food, but his parents remained overprotective of their one and only son and coddled him to the extreme.

They gave him what he wanted, to compensate for the thing they couldn’t give him. A healthy body. Jihoon gets what he wants with just a bat of an eyelash. 

But it’s different in College. Here, they don’t coddle him, they don’t tell him not to do this or that and they treat him as any other student (just with an added concern for his health). It was a breath of fresh air and he liked it. He’s moved out of his house and into an apartment (which his parents picked for him, of course), attending a prestigious College, and basically gets to do whatever a normal person does.

That includes grocery shopping.

Armed with a small list of things to buy, his favorite oversized sweater and his wallet, he pushes the shopping cart further inside, eyes roaming around to look for which lane the cereals were in. When he does, he realizes he lacks the height to reach for said item and no employee in sight that he could ask for help. His cheeks flare in embarrassment at his current situation, cheeks puffing up as the only person he could ask for help is another customer in the same isle as him with their backs turned to him. Jihoon weighs his options and ultimately decides to ask the stranger for help.

He takes silent steps towards them and gives a small tap to their back, “excuse me, sorry to bother you on your shopping, but could I ask for a small favor? I can’t reach that box of cereal over there, so if you could, can you reach it for me?”

wooseok was having a great day at first. he got to sleep in, lounge around, and he finally got to take a nice hot shower. everything had been going great – up until jisoo had said she had a surprise for him. being the gullible, foolish boy that he was, he had eagerly followed her to the front door after having just stepped out of the bathroom, clad in nothing but a large white towel. she insisted it was out front and wooseok opened the door.

he walked right outside, without hesitation. he looked around, but frowned when he saw nothing. “jisoo i don’t see-” and that’s when he heard the door slam behind him and the lock click. his eyes widened, dread filling him from his head down to his toes. “no, no jisoo!” he yelled, banging on the door. “seriously?” he groaned. he knew he probably deserved it. he didn’t know why yet, but he knew that jisoo would have a reason.

so here he stood outside the front door of his apartment. he groans and knocks on the door some more, “jisoo let me in, what if someone sees me?” he suddenly gripped his towel, whispering in horror, “what if my towel falls down?” he whines like a small child. “this isn’t funny.”

he realizes a little too late that jisoo isn’t opening the door any time soon, and he is also very aware of the street to his right. oh god someone could see me. of course they would have the apartment with the door right in front of the balcony, where any passerby could easily see him at one of his most vulnerable moments.

he nearly gasps when the situation fully settles in. jisoo really is evil.

↺ the debate team might as well have the busiest booth in the fair. 

it’s only natural, really. combine sleek aesthetics with premium freebies and the chance to join something prestigious, and students will come running to sign-up like moths to a flame. they’ve already surpassed last year’s number of hopefuls, and the day is far from over. 

maybe she should take a minor in marketing. she’s a natural with these kinds of things, especially with her love for being (and feeling) superior. her throat aches from repeating the same spiel over and over (dare to be with the winning team! join bidulgi’s debate varsity!), but her members (mostly junmyeon, bless him) are always ready to provide with a bottle of water.  

the crowd calms down enough for her to take a sip, and it takes a mere minute before she’s back on her feet, as lively and as enthusiastic as ever. she spots a lost-looking frosh among the crowd, sticking out like a sore thumb due to his height, and that mere vision sparks an idea in her packed cranium. with finesse, she holds the bedazzled mini-megaphone tight, placing it close to her lips as she speaks her line, her voice obnoxiously cutting through a wall of chatter.: 

“you! tall boy in the hoodie! think you got what it takes to be with the winning team?”

hey everyone !! thank you for all the welcome messages, ily all so much omg. if you don’t know i’m kelly, also the writer for acayug ! so, because i’m such a lazy butt and also a mess rn, i don’t have a plot page up yet ( but hopefully coming soon ! ) but if you like this post i’ll message you on here or on twitter ( @kgyeoms ) so we can brainstorm some stuff for yj and your muse. lil things about yj under the cut !

grew up with an older brother, an older sister, one younger sister, and two younger brothers.

grew up with nature all around him, so he loves nature and taking care of it ( loves plants and buying plants ).

his apartment is filled with plants, which is why he preferred to live off campus because he wanted to live alone.

the plants are well taken care of, and if one of them dies/withers he gets sad and holds a mini funeral for the plant.

likes attention because his parents barely gave him any, but won’t be upset if he doesn’t get any.

very social, likes meeting new people and making friends.

pretty good at math because, believe it or not, he uses most of the math he’s learned into his designs.

wants to be a famous architect in the future, designs in class.

that one friend who’d do most dares as long as it doesn’t get him kicked out of school.

not a sports person, used to play soccer as a kid but didn’t really like it.

tries to act tough but doesn’t end up being tough, very soft.

Hey there! I’m so sorry for not being active on the dash, but I’ve got a few things going on in my life that is unfortunately hindering me from going on desktop during most days. It’s nothing big, but it’s making me feel depressed and anxious, so my emotions are just... (இдஇ; )
