If Alakazam Survives...
By selecting Alakazam as part of the Hero’s Second Wind poll, these are scenes that will be included for him.
Brief descriptions and scene titles will be included below!
Fair warning: There is some content dealing with death below as well.
Second warning: This post is long to depict several developing scenes!
... ... ... ... ...
Alakazam’s Survival
This scene depicts the direct events that lead to Alakazam making it through his near death experience, arriving in a cave with mysterious healing properties.
Alakazam, sadly, does not arrive alone.
...
His eyes snapped open, as Alakazam forced himself up. He coughed and glanced around the cave around him, eying it with wonder.
“What is this place…?” He glanced down to the water, and poked at it. “Why does something feel so strange about this…?”
Alakazam traced his back, and shook his head. He concentrated and telekinetically recalled his spoons from below.
“This isn’t anywhere that I’ve been before, so how could I get us…us.” He jerked up. “Machamp?” Spinning around in the water, he spotted his partner on the land nearest to him. “Machamp!”
Paddling over, Alakazam tugged himself from the water. He pushed himself up from the ground, and scrambled over to Machamp, still on the ground.
“Machamp, Machamp, it’s me!” Alakazam shook him. “It’s ok, I don’t know how, but I must have Teleported us…no…”
His voice failed him as he rolled Machamp over. His wounds were still open, dirtied and worse than before.
“Don’t do this to me,” begged Alakazam. “Please, I don’t even know how I got us here, or if it’s some kind of miracle, but please…!” Shaking Machamp a little, Alakazam collapsed over him and cried out. “Why…gods, why…?!”
... ... ...
Alakazam’s Return
This scene features Alakazam returning to his friends, Greninja and Chesnaught. They’re elated to see him, but are surprised that he’s alone.
...
In a flash, he reappeared before us, and I gawked at him. Chesnaught practically doubled over from the mere sight of him.
Twirling his mustache, Alakazam smirked.
“Miss me?”
My mouth hung open as my lips lightly curled up, and I sprinted over to him. He laughed as I threw myself into him, hugging him tightly.
“Take it easy, please!” Alakazam chuckled as I loosened my grip a bit. “There you go.” He pulled back and smiled. “So that’s a ‘yes,’ then?”
“Absolutely! How are you here?!” Tears lined my eyes. “They…they all told me…if I had known, I would’ve went looking—”
“No one knew. Myself included, actually.” Alakazam patted my shoulder as his lowered. “Honestly, if I hadn’t researched it, I’d assume it was entirely magic.”
“Of course it was!” I laughed. “They told me it couldn’t bring you back, but I knew you guys would find a way!”
Chesnaught trudged over, and I spun around, still grinning to him. His smile seemed a little weaker, as he cupped his arm behind my waist, and I returned my attention to Alakazam, who stepped away and twisted away from me.
“…Alakazam?”
“Is Machamp ok?” Chesnaught stepped closer to him. “Are you guys—?”
“It’s just me.” Alakazam folded his arms. “Machamp died.”
... ... ...
Catching Up
During a moment for the climb up the Mountains Monarchy, Alakazam drops in on Greninja and newcomer Salazzle resting. Alakazam offers Salazzle advice.
...
“You’ve been well, right?”
Salazzle and I turned to Alakazam, as he walked over to our table. He frowned and glanced away.
“Sorry. I don’t mean to interrupt—”
“Please, you’re fine,” insisted Salazzle. She traced her mouth with her fingertips. “I must admit, I’m rather curious about this ‘back from the dead’ story that you’ve got going on.”
“Perhaps I can share, but later.” He sat down beside me. “Chesnaught mentioned that you went back to your hometowns?” I nodded. “How was yours?”
“It was...something. Good and bad.” I shrugged. “Don’t really know how to feel about it.”
“That’s understandable.” Alakazam patted my hands. “Just don’t let anyone bring you down, all right?”
“I thought I was supposed to be cheering you up,” I joked.
“Gracious, now I feel like I’m intruding,” teased Salazzle.
“Sorry.” I returned my attention to her. “We’re close friends.”
“That sounds lovely.”
“You...act like you don’t have any,” noticed Alakazam.
“Debatable.”
“What about Heliolisk?”
“She’s...different.” Salazzle tapped on her mug. “Hopefully a good different, but I’ve been down that road before. Not looking to go down it again.”
“Do it.” We both looked to Alakazam. “Maybe she’s too naive, maybe it won’t work out, but if you can become closer to her, don’t wait.” His eyes lowered. “Trust me. If it’s worth exploring at all, then don’t hesitate, and don’t wait for her. Go first.”
Salazzle paused as Alakazam quieted, opened her mouth, but then she went back to tracing her mug’s rim.
... ... ...
Prelude to Magical Mayhem
Chesnaught introduces Alakazam to his friends, Gardevoir and Gallade. Though not the smoothest introduction, Alakazam and Gardevoir seem to hit it off. Whether that’s good or bad remains to be determined.
...
“Right, I guess you guys haven’t really been properly introduced.” I placed one hand on his shoulder. “This is our friend, Alakazam. He’s a mage, kind of like you, Gardevoir.”
“Hm.” She studied him for a moment, and I smiled as I waited. “He looks a bit dainty.”
“You’re one to talk,” muttered Alakazam.
“Excuse me?”
“Ho, uh, hold on!” Gallade quickly stepped between the two. “Let’s not get off on the wrong foot, right?”
His eyes widened as a pink aura coated him. Gardevoir whipped her hand to the side, and Gallade slid across the ground, against the nearest stony mound. Knowing that I’d fare much worse, I slowly backed away as she approached Alakazam.
“Listen, I don’t think anyone’s informed you, but I’m really not in a good mood lately,” warned Gardevoir. “So, if you really think you can handle me, you’ve got another thing coming.”
“Greninja, now would be a really, really great time to come back...” I whispered to my missing boyfriend.
“Quite honestly, I don’t really give a damn about your mood. Mine’s positively worse than yours.” Alakazam lowered his eyes. “If you want to have a magical duel, feel free to throw the first spell. I’m more than ready to handle anything you’ve got.”
“Huh...you are, aren’t you?” Gardevoir gazed him up and down, slowly nodding. “Hmm.” She straightened up. “Ok then. If you’re tough enough to stand up to me, then you’re good enough to work alongside us.” She held her hand forward. “Just don’t do anything to hurt Delphox or anyone else, and we’ll be just fine.”
“You do realize that they were in the Iceberg Empire with me, not against,” reminded Alakazam.
“So was a duck that my boys hate so much,” reminded Gardevoir.
“...Fair point.” Alakazam took Gardevoir’s hand and shook it. “As long as we don’t get in one another’s way, I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.”
“Maybe we can even team up,” suggested Gardevoir. Stones levitated around her. “I am curious to see how you’ll handle opponents that we’ll be facing.”
“With only the utmost ferocity.” Alakazam snapped his fingers, and each of the stones around Gardevoir shattered. “I anticipate you’ll offer the same.”
“Absolutely.” Gardevoir clapped her hands and waved them off to the sides, turning the pebbles to dust in the wind. “Oh, you and I? We’ll get along just fine!”
“Uh, that’s really great,” started up Gallade. “But, maybe we shouldn’t be plotting how to take down citizens that we’re not sure are our enemies?” He forced himself away from the mound and back to Gardevoir. “Plus, I really don’t think he’s a good influence for you.”
“Relax, it’s about being prepared with reactionary forces, not instigating,” insisted Alakazam. “You don’t have to play the overprotective boyfriend role. She’s clearly capable.”
“Ooh, you sound so eloquent!” Gardevoir grinned. “Between you and the gloomy ghost, I see Delphox was in pretty good company after all.”
“As was Mewtwo, naturally.” Alakazam smirked. “Had we not been taken by such surprise, we would have been a force to reckon with.”
“Then we’ll definitely be set on the right path with an even stronger alliance now,” pointed out Gardevoir. “What do you think?”
“Invariably, as I believe we have spell caster supremacy on our side.”
If we weren’t allies, I think I’d be terrified.

Strategy Counsel
In preparation for a trial that the three armies will be handling on the Mountains Monarchy, a Druddigon tactician seeks advice from Alakazam, and is impressed by his offerings. Alakazam, however, disagrees.
...
“Glad you guys could make it!” Druddigon smiled as I waved, and then checked down at the map on the table. “Ok, so, I’m trying to look over these positions,” he tapped at the map, as Alakazam and I gazed over it. “See, over by Rainbow Wing Valley, that’s a tricky spot to navigate, but I think we can have two teams split around to scour across it.” He took a pencil and traced the paths he wanted. “First team engages the obstacles in the middle, but the second goes around here—”
“That’s a senseless set of gambles,” murmured Alakazam.
“Wait, what?”
“First, you’re suspecting the middle to be the heavier route to handle,” assessed Alakazam. “True that it’s likely to be, but you’re showing that you’re overestimating the defenses that will be set there.” He pointed at the pieces on the table in the path’s center. “Putting them through there with decreased numbers will endanger them, but then by splintering your team apart, you’re not handling potential obstacles that will come up around the sides.”
“Well, I guess I didn’t think of that,” admitted Druddigon, as he studied the map again. “But, I still think splitting teams would be the best approach.” He smiled and glanced up at Alakazam. “Unless you’ve got a smarter strategy?”
“…Not particularly.” Alakazam lowered his head and gazed at the ground. “This was never my area of expertise. It was his…always his…”
... ... ...
Vow of Vengeance
In a climactic battle with Garchomp, his would-be killer, Alakazam vows to finish him off, in retribution for Machamp.
...
Garchomp twisted around, smacking his tail down to shatter the ice from it. He blankly stared as Alakazam approached, and kept his spoon pointed at the dragon.
“Last time, I made a mistake,” he murmured. “You told me to kill you, but I tried to save you. And that cost me dearly.” Alakazam narrowed his gaze. “Lucky for you, though, I despise repeating mistakes.” Energy crackled from his spoons as Alakazam lifted from the ground. “So, let’s grant you that wish you craved.”
... ... ... ... ...
(Remember, these are scenes in development. However, this is what you can look forward to upon selecting Alakazam’s return for the stories!)
