I've seen some confusion as to what Treasure Chest really meant by "using the immunity token for his team". And I thought about it and realized...

OKAY so a recurring thing and notable flaw with Treasure Chest is his obligations as a team captain. If something bad happens involving him (directly or indirectly), he will assume it's ALL because of him and that he MUST go out of his way to fix it. This is why he was so persistent with trying to work things out with Journal and Chainsaw despite their motives being somewhere else.

So seeing his defected teammates be responsible for his first loss, I think its safe to say that the move was pulled because he thinks he's responsible for the loss. And judging from what he says later on, losses that will happen without his guidance. And that using the immunity token will help secure the victories and make it up to his team. This lines up perfectly with the aforementioned trait shown throughout the show.

This very flaw is WHY Journal sees Treasure Chest as selfish and says that he thinks "EVERYTHING revolves around [him]". It's an obvious exaggeration considering Journal's state in that scene, but it is true that Treasure Chest tends to assume certain things happen just because of him.

What’s it with the hosts of these object shows being clearly mentally ill?

Just naming a few that come to mind are Four, Mephone4, Gold Ingot. Airy (if he really counts for the genre), and Oodle to some degree as well... Idk ‘bout the last one, I haven’t seen AIB in a hot second, but yeah. These hosts could benifit from a bit of therapy! I obviously wouldn’t change them for the world but still...
