This swing in current industry place trends suggests that artwork consumers are impressed by the aesthetic appeal and novelty of digitally printed custom canvas as it is a relatively new, yet logical medium for art work reproduction. As an entrepreneur conducting a print making business, choosing a custom canvas which is going to undoubtedly soon likely be the foundation for the reputation and long term success minus the collection of chances, can be a daunting or even impossible job. Regardless, it is the responsibility of the printmaker to understand and test custom canvas to source the highest quality to make sure sustainable-revenue as well as also the ethics of their small business. Therefore the intent of this report will be to deliver printmakers using the right equipment to rate custom canvas predicated on general data and also quantifiable attributes; within a try to generate higher-quality, more-archival, and more sellable nice art inkjet canvas prints. In order to precisely evaluate inkjet canvas for the print making firm, several criteria needs to be assessed and considered. This criterion might be simplified to four primary classes: decorative appeal, endurance, production/business practicality, and brand association. Analyzing many brands and forms of custom canvas would be your ideal thing that you can perform to help your company, your customers, and also the fine art market for a wholelot. That being said is obtain sample cloth out of prominent inkjet canvas manufacturers. Make this report are the checklist or guide to walk you though the important test process. This classification was listed above all the others because it's the one most crucial element for analyzing your primary,"house" inkjet canvas. The simple point is that this is the nice art business and if you are the artist, a gallery owner, a publisher, or even a printmaker, the supreme worldwide aim is to promote artwork. Art is sold like a result of its aesthetic allure and also also the psychological derivative of this image presentation. Put simply, the larger your own prints seem which can naturally lead in more printing business. If the artists who you print to get are convinced which you're reproducing their work in the most visually appealing manner and this can be reflected within their publish earnings, you are able to be certain they will continue to apply the services. About the flip side, in the event the artist makes the decision to search around or appears to are in touch with an alternative printmaker who is demonstrably producing remarkable custom canvas prints, then the artist is going to likely be gone within a minute. The only means to become certain you are producing probably the most aesthetically appealing inkjet canvas prints, is to test various ink-jet canvases for color gamut, Dmax (optical density), resolution, feel, plus burden . Let's carefully think about every one of these features individually.Color Gamut - During this competitive industry simply offering amazing colour reproduction isn't enough. You need to give the ideal colour reproduction. Although precise color gamut dimension applications, like a Colorimeter or spectrophotometer may and must really be used if obtainable, the naked eye is generally adequate to distinguish an more superior custom canvas image. Publish a color focus on, which consists of a few different color spots, on every inkjet canvas that you are assessing. Use these targets to review each color to pinpoint which inkjet colour produces the very best colour gamut. It is likewise encouraged to print the exact same, vibrant image on each and every canvas and also see which produces the many brilliant colours. To acquire new information on this please Visit Website. D Max - D-Max can be a step of utmost density of the image's shade but more specifically its black density. Again, the most precise measurements can be taken with a densitometer, however, also the nude eye will probably suffice whether that equipment isn't readily available to you. D Max is defined as the blackest when talking paper and inks. Black density is arguably the most discernable characteristic in analyzing the quality of paper, ink, inkjet canvas, and even printmakers by on their own. Thus attaining the blackest black potential are absolutely the absolute most important factor for each and each single delicate art printmaker. In this increasingly competitive industry, like colour gamut, giving great blacks is not enough. You need to give the blackest blacks possible.Resolution - This refers to the smallest discernable dots or pixels, usually measured as dpi or dots per inch. In regard to fine art reproduction, it is a dimension of the"fineness" of depth in a published picture. Resolution can be actually a important characteristic because with out"fineness" and detail, graphic quality is jeopardized. No matter how true your hues will be or how dense the black can be in case the picture appears fuzzy upclose in the place of clean and crisp, you will have appreciably diminished your opportunities promoting that printing as it's going to negatively influence its overall perceived price. This will inhibit the artist by accessing accurate market value for his job, which will cause one of the printmaker to eliminate small business to a competitor who uses a inkjet canvas with superior resolution. It needs to be said that inkjet canvases with excessive texture can also compromise resolution and needs to be averted. The extreme slopes and valleys at the canvas texture can cause ink to"bleed", or so run, that will blur second aspects of an printed image. The best texture of canvas is one that is going to exude a organic inkjet canvas appearance, with no compromising resolution or diminishing the amount of viewable angels in which the artwork could be appreciated. The latter is caused by almost any glossy finish on a custom yarn. The outcome is that a"sparkling" affect caused by light reflecting off of these glistening peaks and valleys of the textured inkjet canvas. Sparkling inkjet canvas prints no longer require on the characteristics of an original painting which causes art users to perceive them as cheap reproductions. In an industry driven by caliber and aesthetic allure, inexpensive reproductions won't market and will probably be detrimental into some printmakers' reputation. All things considered, even should a inkjet canvas is a obvious pioneer in color gamut, D-Max, and resolution, it could have excessive feel that alone can compromise quality. So, texture that is excessive should be tested for by printmakers. This is sometimes done in 2 manners. First, print pictures with depth and search to get a deficiency of crispness and image cleanliness . Secondly, use glossy protecting coating that is post-print or a semi-glossy and look for amazing when light reflects off the area that is coated. It is crucial to stay in your mind that feel is a subjective feature of. Because of printmaker, it is recommended to counsel your customers to earn a feel decision depending upon objective info that could enhance the saleability of the prints as opposed to attempt to appeal to each and every artist's personal preference. Canvas prints that are created to get from your own photos really are a excellent feature in any home. They could capture memories that are precious or exceptional people to get a lifetime. An increasing amount of organizations are promoting the fact they can dispatch your canvas about the same day you get it. Even though this might seem to be a solid feature and excellent customer support, it should be looked at what ways are being over looked on this particular specific hurried manufacturing process. In the process of producing a canvas print in the photo you can find 5 primary actions that all companies really ought to abide by so as to create the perfect canvas printing that you deserve.Every photo acquired must be thoroughly inspected and attention should be awarded into the following areas:The image resolution ought to be assessed to ensure it's sufficient for the desirable canvas size. The image ought to be assessed to be sure the subject will be in focus. The image size needs to be assessed to be certain it is compatible with all the asked canvas size.Any defects in the picture needs to be removed or rectified. Blemishes could possibly be hidden until the image is enlarged to get canvas printing.Eyes needs to really be scrutinized and any red-eyes corrected.Every picture has to be enhanced by expert applications to deliver the most useful effects when canvas printing. Images will probably have to be cropped or trimmed to fit the measurement that is requested. Cropping can remove important features in the image, thus consideration should be provided to the image for a whole. The overall canvas needs to be assessed for small blemishes or marks which may possibly be present. 100% yarn provides the best quality complete, however because it is an all natural product or service small flaws do occur.Check they truly have been no faint or missing areas on the canvas due to filthy or blocked printing heads.A contrast should be produced between the first image and the final canvas. Most canvas prints are all manufactured having large-format ink-jet printers. Even though ink might be sterile enough to touch in a number of minutes, it's always a good idea to allow 24 Hrs for your own canvas to wash before stretching could shoot place. When the canvas is totally dry it must be hand stretched professionally made stretcher bars. Canvases must always be stretched yourself in place of machine. The framer needs to create an tightness that is even . While stretching, principles ought to be used in the place of adhesive, since the canvas could slide on adhesive and decrease the entire tightness. As a minimum all canvas printing businesses should carry out the above mentioned techniques to ensure the canvas print is to your complete satisfaction.Sam Black may be the dog owner of eXtraPrints.com an expert in offering personalised canvas prints.

Shine Bright, Like a Liebes
Author: Erica Warren
In celebration of the second annual New York Textile Month, members of the Textile Society of America will author Object of the Day for the month of September. A non-profit professional organization of scholars, educators, and artists in the field of textiles, TSA provides an international forum for the exchange and dissemination of information about textiles worldwide.
The play of color and texture that suffuses Dorothy Liebes’s Dobeckmun Dazzle exemplifies her work as a weaver and designer of modern interior and dress fabrics. The panel lives up to its name, dazzling the eye with silvery threads that contribute a subtle, overall sheen to the seafoam and grey striped design. Adding further visual delight, the pale grey verticals feature an alternating pattern of smooth and plush looped (velvet) textures.
The title of the textile acknowledges Liebes’s ties to the Dobeckmun Company (now Dow Chemical), the manufacturer of Lurex. A tarnish-proof metallic thread, Lurex, made with a strip of metal (often aluminum) layered between two thin pieces of plastic film, was marketed as a durable and vibrant material suited for use in furnishing fabrics. Liebes, who established her textile business in San Francisco in the 1930s, began consulting as a color stylist for Dobeckmun in 1946, advising them on color trends in order to bolster demand for Lurex amongst textile manufacturers. [1]
One of the hallmarks of Liebes’s career was her collaboration with industry and the way in which she embraced both hand- and industrially-woven textiles. Liebes relied on hand weaving to produce custom design work and to establish patterns for industrial production. Prior even to her consulting for Dobeckmun, in 1940 Goodall Fabrics had retained her services as a designer and stylist. [2] It is possible that Dobeckmun Dazzle was one of the fabrics that Goodall manufactured. The firm worked carefully to implement technical innovations that would allow for Liebes’s designs to be industrial produced while still maintaining a sense of handmade irregularity and artistry. The fabrics Goodall made notably featured loops, fringes, and lush textures “in the wonderful Liebes colorings.” [3] Although Dobeckmun Dazzle is less vibrant than particolored designs such as Mexican Plaid, it well demonstrates Liebes’s close attention to textural effects.
Liebes’s career spanned four decades and as early as 1947, she was dubbed “first lady of the loom” for her new and “artistic approach to weaving.” [4] The breadth and depth of her career only expanded over the following decades, and eventually included a vast array of achievements. Notably, near the end of her career, in 1970, Liebes was the first recipient of the American Crafts Council’s Award of Merit. Designers Edward Wormley and Henry Dreyfuss and architect Edward Durell Stone spoke at the award luncheon, hailing her as “certainly the most talented weaver of the twentieth century.” This honor was paired with a retrospective exhibition of her work at the ACC’s Museum of Contemporary Crafts (now the Museum of Arts and Design) that same year. How Three Revolutionary Fabrics Are Greening the Industry
If the holiday sales are tempting you to refresh your wardrobe, consider the environmental footprint of buying a new jacket and throwing away your old one. Today, about 80 billion new pieces of clothing are made each year—400 percent more than 20 years ago, while the world’s population only grew about 30 percent. That growth has a huge environmental cost. The Danish Fashion Institute named fashion “one of the most resource-intensive industries in the world, both in terms of natural resources and human resources.” Designer Eileen Fisher has called it “the second largest polluter in the world… second only to the oil industry,” and while that fact has been disputed, a 2010 research paper found that the industry is responsible for almost 10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Moreover, once clothes have been made and worn for a short while, they’re thrown away. A new report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation found that cumulatively around the world a truckload of clothes gets dumped every second. The average American tosses about 82 pounds of textiles a year, much of which ends up in landfills or incinerated. Of the clothing that reaches second-hand stores like Goodwill—only 15 percent of all discards—some is recycled into shoddy (filling for cheap furniture) or upcycled into things like denim insulation, but most of it is shipped to poorer countries. However, they too have limits—African countries including South Africa and Nigeria recently banned Western castoffs, which have overwhelmed their markets, causing the decline of their local fashion business.
Replacing Old stock fabrics With New Biopolymers
Two types of textiles—petroleum-made polyester and field-grown cotton, often woven together—have been the fashion industry’s darlings for decades. “Much of [what we wear now] is a blend of PET, a petroleum-based fiber, and cotton fiber,” says Ramani Narayan, a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University. But these hipora fabric have their issues. Cotton, which makes over 30 percent of our clothes’ yarns, is a natural material, but it’s a thirsty crop that siphons 3 percent of the fresh water, and accounts for almost 20 percent of pesticides and 25 percent of the insecticides used in agriculture worldwide, before it’s even picked. Processing cotton—knitting, weaving, and dyeing—also takes water and energy, yielding more pollution. The production of polyester, the demand for which has doubled in the last 15 years, is an energy intensive process that requires a lot of oil and generates harmful emissions, including volatile organic compounds, particulate matter, and acid gases, like hydrogen chloride, all of which contribute to respiratory disease. “Adding PET to a textile gives you better performance—it makes taffeta fabrics more moisture-resistant and gives them more washability,” says Narayan, but these textiles don’t break down naturally, and instead fill up our landfills and oceans. Polyester threads discarded from washing machines have recently been found in fish, including some species we eat. Unless PET threads are decoupled from cotton and recycled, they don’t decompose, but separating fibers is very difficult.
That’s where biopolymers come in.  Biopolymers are macromolecules—long chains of smaller molecular units strung together.  These basic units can be amino acids, nucleotides, and monosaccharaides. The most common biopolymer is cellulose, which makes up one third of all plant material on earth. Cotton is 90 percent cellulose, but there are other, less polluting alternatives.
Biopolymers can be grown or harvested from other plants like kelp or from living organisms like bacteria or yeast, which produce biopolymers as part of their lifecycle. The resulting fibers can be woven into a variety of textiles akin to polyester, leather, or a cellulose-like yarn. To a certain extent, these materials can sequester carbon from the atmosphere, acting as wearable carbon sinks. And when they’re thrown away, these biopolymers will decompose. Just as a cotton t-shirt will break down in a compost heap after a few years, so will any biopolymer-based textile.
“Obviously it’s better to use plants and biomass to make products,” says Narayan, “because then the plants fix the carbon and when you make a product from that you have removed carbon dioxide from the environment.” Using biopolymers in clothing can reduce energy and freshwater use and may help mitigate climate change resources. Plus, as the following examples show, some biopolymers can take the creativity of fashion design process in a whole new direction.
Seining Sweaters from the Sea
AlgiKnit uses kelp, a type of seaweed, to produce a biopolymer called alginate, which is then used for textile production. Kelp grows all over the world, forming offshore kelp forests. Some kelp species grow quicker than the fastest-growing terrestrial plant, bamboo, and are inexpensive to farm. As it sprouts, kelp cleans water too—absorbing phosphorous, nitrogen, and five times more carbon dioxide than land plants—so farming it near seaside cities can improve polluted local waters. Like any plant, kelp absorbs carbon to grow, so when used in durable materials, it is also a carbon sink.
AlgiKnit extracts alginate from kelp by adding certain salts to the seaweed base. After the so-called “salt bath” pulls the alginate from the kelp’s cell walls, the biopolymer is extracted from the seaweed residue, dried into a powder and fused into a yarn that can be turned into a variety of stretch fabric types. “The process is similar to that of synthetic materials, where one long continuous strand is produced,” says Tessa Callaghan, the co-founder of AlgiKnit. “The filament can be plied and twisted to increase strength, or cut into short fibers for other purposes.” AlgiKnit won National Geographic’s Chasing Genius Competition for developing this technology.
The team’s big challenge has been to get their end fiber to be strong and flexible enough for use on an industrial knitting machine. It took a lot of experimentation to ensure compatibility between yarns and machines, but one of the team’s goals is to be able to use the yarn in the existing fiber and textile infrastructure, to streamline the new material’s acceptance, Callaghan says.
Modern Meadow’s yeast-produced collagen is another biopolymer that is about to make its runway debut in a form of a leather product named Zoa. The New Jersey-based company designs DNA that can yield collagen, the protein that makes up leather. These specially constructed DNA strands are inserted into the yeast cells. As the yeast cells grow and multiply, they produce collagen and other proteins essential in forming leather, which then cluster together to make a triple-helix collagen molecule. The resulting molecules form bundles that are “cooked” in Modern Meadow’s “secret sauce,” resulting in a leather-like material. “We design DNA that can make collagen, the main building block of leather, then we purify it, and then use an assembly process to turn it into leather,” says Susan Schofer, vice president of business development at Modern Meadow.
Compared to traditional leather industries, Zoa’s production has a lower environmental impact and more fashion design opportunities. To turn a piece of animal hide into bags, shoes, or pants, it must undergo chemical and physical treatments to remove fats, hair, and other impurities. That processing is ecologically and medically fraught—most leather tanning is done in countries with few or unenforced environmental laws because the effluent from the process contains fish-killing sulfides, carcinogenic chromium, and chlorinated phenols that are linked to bladder and nasal cancers in tannery workers.
Using yeast to grow collagen eliminates the animal part of the equation—including slaughter and subsequent hide processing. It yields higher quality materials—perfectly shaped hides without branding marks or scars, and yields very large spans of leather, much bigger than a cow’s body. It also offers nearly endless creative design ideas. The new collagen can be sprayed on top of another minimatt fabric to create never-before-seen leather fashions, like the t-shirt that is currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York as part of its Items: Is Fashion Modern? exhibit. This material can also be embossed or textured in ways that cow or pig leather just can’t.
Modern Meadow will be introducing Zoa to market in 2018. The production facilities are already available from related industries such as biofuels. “We use 200,000 or 500,000-liter fermentation tanks [for the yeast],” says Schofer, “So the infrastructure already exists around the globe to take this from lab to commercial levels.”

This means we never deplete our planets natural resources faster than we can produce them. Responsibility- Everybody who works at Gaia are insured a competitive wage and our places of work are regularly inspected to guarantee safe working conditions. Inclusivity- We want all women to feel comfortable and confident when they shop with us. Our sizing ranges from a UK size 4-24 with hopes to increase this in the future.

Narnia-
Although at GAIA we pride ourselves in our inclusivity we do find our main customer audience to be a woman between the ages of 25 to 40 years old who are at a middle-class economic level. Demographically, we at GAIA want our customers to be economically aware, professional women earning a sufficient wage of 30k a year and above, who while wanting comfort also seek fashionable and classy loungewear that can be dressed up and worn out as well as dressed down. The psychological makeup of our customer is an art lover who is fashion conscious, a discriminating buyer, university educated with occupational accomplishment and an economic activist. The habits of our customer include shopping, reading, walking, yoga, watching movies and spending time with family. In terms of their consumer habits, our customers enjoy shopping around once every month or two months at middle to high profile retail establishments, fashionable good quality products, consciously seeks out sustainable and economically friendly brands.

Narnia and Zhante-
For our brand we decided to call ourselves Gaia. Gaia was venerated as the goddess of earth or land in ancient Greece. We think the name clearly reflects our goals of being sustainable and inclusive- supporting women empowerment through the use of a goddess accompanied with our ‘all goddesses welcome’ tagline. The logo is formed with Amalfi coasts cursive text that projects a feminine tone overall. Partnered with that is the alchemical symbol for the earth element, which further helps us to be identified as a sustainable brand. Both elements are identifiable to our brand and can be separated and used as standalone logos across our collection and promotional front. We decided to keep the colour palette quite simple as the black and white creates a more refined, elegant and professional look as it reflects our target audience of professional women aged 25-40 and we also want our collection to speak for itself.

Our trend is a combination of the colour palette from the spring summer 22 euphoric and the concept of home comforts from spring summer 22 connected, both from WGSN. The concept of home comforts is based around comfy, loungewear home styles lasting long after lockdown. Loungewear isn’t just about comfort anymore it also needs to look into wellbeing with health being a consumer priority. Home comforts is relevant for loungewear and sets with cocooning adaptable silhouettes and adjustable features including elasticated closures and button-down finishes. The recommended materials for home comforts are organic fabrics including hemp, linen and cotton with hypoallergenic, rejuvenating and deodorising benefits. We have taken away aspects of home comforts for our brand including the loungewear home styles, organic materials and adaptable and adjustable silhouettes with elasticated features and tie-waist closures. With a future plan to look into smart fabrics.
Molly (me) -
The reason why we decided not to keep the home comforts colour palette is because we wanted something bolder and brighter. We went with the forecasted trend euphoric and the colour palette is inspired by the trend board colour me happy.
The colour palette consists of lavender Silk, Fresh Ginger, Nectar, Daylight Blue, Turquoise Tonic, Orchard Flower and Red Glow.

Charlotte -
The first loungewear collection for Gaia consists of three outfits designed for release in the spring of 2022. We’d like to consider ourselves as an inclusive brand to all and offer all of our products in sizes XXS to 4XL. The first outfit in our range is a plunge V neck sleeveless full-length dress, with an elasticated ruffled waist. The dress is paired with a collarless full length quilted coat with wide sleeves, complete with a long sash belt. The second outfit consists of three items including elasticated paper bag style lounge pants, a sleeveless tank in the same style as the dress, these are paired with a quilted wide sleeved crop jacket with a tie waste. The third outfit is a pair of elasticated paper bag shorts with a cropped square neck t-shirt with ruffled sleeve detailing matching that of the bottoms and dress. All of the outerwear and bottoms from this collection have seam pockets and there is a paper bag style detail running across all three looks of the collection.
Lisa -
Looking at the garments we create, we plan to use recycled polyester and organic cotton. Which would be coloured through a natural dye process and use of sublimation for the polyester fibres which wouldn’t be as harmful or wasteful. And with the jackets and coat we would use cotton batting.

Heather –
Our first clothing line is priced from £47 - £428. Being a sustainable and ethically inspired brand it is expected that our products may cost more than less ethical companies on the market. As an example we pay all of our employees an average wage of £12 an hour including everyone involved with the production of our garments. Compared to one of our main ethical competitors girlfriend collective, who pay the living wage for seamstresses in Vietnam, our employees earn over 10x the amount they do. We believe that this will not deter our customer base as they care far more about the impact they have than how much things cost. Our pricing is based on a direct to customer market. We hope to operate a circular economy in the future so at this time we are not taking on wholesale options to keep things simple.
Tumblr media
Molly (me) -
Our clothing will be predominately sold online and you can purchase the items through our website or through our Instagram shop. We decided to open an Instagram shop as well as just our website because Instagram is a massive social media platform where we can gain a large following, we will also be able to reach a bigger target market of customers. One other reason why we wanted to promote and sell through Instagram is due to the current pandemic, as more and more people are now shopping online and turning to Instagram to pass the time so we hope our brand reaches a wider range of customers through our posts and advertisements. we also plan to set up a pop-up shop in the bull ring in Birmingham city Centre, where we will also sell our products.
Pranil –
As for our pop-up store, we had scouted out a location that we had deemed perfect for our brand, and we had found an open and well-lit store for hire in the heart of the Birmingham, within the Bullring. This store is ideal for our brand as the Bullring is a highly populated area, and we feel customers going in and out the building will be inclined to help local businesses in the area, and our demographic will surely be around the building. The price for this renting out this store totals out to £132/day and we all agreed that having the store up for a month would be enough time for people to notice us, which come to final cost of £5,160, for 31 days.
Tumblr media
Zhante –
Looking at the ways in which we can get Gaia as brand out there and create a sense of validity around us, we will be using such means as reaching out to sustainable fashion bloggers like the sustainable edit and magazines such as KeiSei and more commercial magazines like vogue for featured interviews so our consumers can get to know Gaia as a brand better and to answer any unanswered questions as well as write and review our products spreading our message across a wider audience. We will also be looking at future collaborations with other sustainable brands which support our ideals, such as girlfriend collective as an example to help gain international recognition. We will also be hiring out billboard spots across the UK to visually promote our collection and to create further interest eventually moving this worldwide. In addition to this, we will also be working with the fashion of nature exhibition to display our collection within a live event as well as taking part in the first ever sustainable fashion week, sporting our collection on the runway later this year in autumn 2021. In the near future we will be looking into partnering with campaigns and charities surrounding the idea of sustainability and slow fashion and hopefully create our own campaigns and produce panel talks that support and help spread our message even further.

^ Narnia – As Instagram is a big platform to promote brands and is the easiest way to garner attention, we will be reaching out to Instagrammers, sending PR so they can review and promote our collection through Instagram stories and reels to their audience which will create more traffic to both our website and Instagram page. Through this we can then run giveaways and competitions. And as Gaia gains more and more attention we will be looking into eventually expanding our group of influencers which can eventually lead us into celebrity brand endorsements and possible collaborations.
Tumblr media
^ Zhante – We tried to be as thoughtful about the materials we use for our packaging as we are with our collection and are constantly looking for innovative ways to minimise the use of single-use packaging. We recognise that single-use packaging exerts an impact on ecosystems at their extraction point, during production and in disposal. Therefore, we have worked with companies like TIPA and Iggesund who are manufacturers known for their bio based, fully compostable, flexible and sustainable packaging solutions to create the perfect blend. Our BPI certified packaging is 100% sustainable, 100% eco-friendly and is 100% good for the planet; made from a selection of paperboard box packaging which can either be recycled or composted. Our garments will be protected and wrapped in clear TIPA plastic made from vegetables, which is designed to breakdown into compost, replacing the overuse of industrial cast film packaging. This is great as it allows us to be consistent with our sustainability without compromising on the aesthetics.  Our thank you notes that will be inside every packaged delivery will be made from 100% recycled and plantable flower seed paper as well as our tags for both our bags and clothing. The bags will then be a combination of sustainable paperboard and again coated with a plastic film wrap-created using things such as cellulose and compostable gloss. And our Gift cards will be plastic free and made from a similar material called invercote paperboard.
We have consciously decided not to include any unnecessary extras within the packaging such as tissue paper as we believe this will just create more unnecessary waste and recycling in the long run.
We recognise that this is a more costly approach than typical packaging and would likely have to bump up the delivery prices to help compensate for this, but we believe that the cost of this is cheaper than the cost of damaging the planet.
Tumblr media
^ Lisa – After establishing our brand, in the short midterm we plan to open a physical store including the expansion of our range for a more inclusive collection through sizing which we plan to use CLO3D technology which would allow us to reduce the waste in pattern making and thus being more sustainable. In the long-term we aim to use self-healing fabric as it would reduce the damage on the garment and less waste as well as encouraging customers to return the clothing that we would then recycle into new clothing so that this creates a more circular ecosystem.
Tumblr media
^ Heather - Thank you for listening. Are there any questions?

Metal Fiber Market Growth, Size, Demand, Trends, Insights and Forecast 2027
The global metal fiber market is set to gain momentum from its surging usage in various aircraft as a sound attenuation element. Nowadays, the increasing population in cities is, in turn, raising the volume of air traffic. Hence, the demand for silent aircraft is increasing to lower noise pollution and to control air traffic. Fortune Business Insights™ published this information in a new report, titled, “Metal Fiber Market Size, Share & COVID-19 Impact Analysis, By Product (Steel, Nickel, Copper, Aluminum, and Others), By Technology (Bundle Drawing, Foil Shaving, Machining, And Melt Spinning), By Application (ESD/EMI Protection, Filtration, Hot Glass Manipulation, Electrical Cables, Specialties, and Others), By End-Use (Textile, Automotive, Aerospace, Power & Electronics, and Others), and Regional Forecast, 2020-2027.” The report further states that the metal fiber market size was USD 4,701.0 million in 2019 and is projected to reach USD 6,561.6 million by 2027, exhibiting a CAGR of 4.5% during the forecast period.
Drivers & Restraints-
High Demand for Conductive Textile to Accelerate Growth
The demand for metal fiber is high from the textile industry worldwide. This is because of the recent trend of wearing smart textiles or e-textiles. Also, biomedical clothing contains electrodes made of conductive yarns. However, the development of innovative metal fiber production technology requires the assistance of various fields, namely, pressure handling, powder metallurgy, porous materials, and non-woven manufacturing. Manufacturers sometimes are unable to keep up with the requirements. This factor may hamper the metal fiber market growth in the coming years.
Regional Analysis-
Asia Pacific to Remain at Forefront Backed by High Demand from India & China
Asia Pacific dominated the market in 2019 and is likely to remain in its position in the near future. This growth is attributable to the high demand for these fibers from India and China. Also, India would showcase a considerable demand from the textile and automotive industries. In 2019, North America procured USD 629.9 million in terms of revenue. The increasing usage of textiles, such as protective clothing, upholstery fabrics, and carpets is set to surge the demand for metal fiber in this region.
Competitive Landscape-
Key Players Focus on Expanding Production to Attract More Customers

There are some recurring buzzwords around the latest news from Intertextile Apparel – new, comprehensive, high-quality – which, when put together, illustrate booming potential at the fair, held from 12 – 14 March. The reputation of Intertextile Apparel’s Spring Edition has established a global flagship for apparel sourcing. Exhibitors and visitors alike will benefit from product zones with clear themes, from high-end wool to original designs, as the one-stop locations aim to make it easy for visitors to locate more potential business partners. This year’s Spring Edition sees larger product zones and country pavilions – proving the fair’s growing recognition from worldwide suppliers who view these zones as gateways to the apparel market. New exhibitors add to comprehensive product range “Shanghai is a great city for a business with original prints, and Intertextile is one of our busiest fairs. It’s a good place to find new clients,” explained Jane Han Zhang, Founder and Creative Director of British design studio Fairbairn & Wolf Studio, at last year’s Verve for Design, a product zone for original designs from all over the world. With an increase in floor space and four new international exhibitors joining the zone this year, including Dessin & Cie from France, Linestudio from Italy, DMD Amsterdam from the Netherlands and Her Studio London from the UK, it’s evident that Verve for Design is enjoying increased popularity amongst worldwide exhibitors who view Shanghai as a prime business platform. The Milano Unica Pavilion, which features high-quality Italian exhibitors, has also increased in size and will include a new exhibitor, Tessitura Marco Pastorelli. Meanwhile, outside of the pavilion, another new Italian exhibitor Ibieffe will present cotton fabrics. This year also includes more suppliers at the larger Turkey Zone, with new exhibitors including: Bunyem, displaying jacquard and plain fabrics for ladieswear; Kotonteks and their fancy woven fabrics for ladieswear; Ramnur offering jacquard and brocade; and Unlu Transfer, who will bring their digital printed, coated, foiled and embossed fabrics. High-quality European suppliers on offer For those seeking more European exhibitors, SalonEurope continues to bring the best of the European textile industry to China. Countries include Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK. SalonEurope offers an ideal meeting platform for brands from all over Europe, which in turn attracts high-quality buyers. “It is our first time here and I am very impressed with how great the visitor quality is. Although we sell high-end products, buyers here are still very interested, and on the first day, we met with over 30 buyers. I think a large amount of them will place orders. Compared to other fairs, I think there are more serious buyers here,” commented Irina De Giorgi, Sales Manager of Ideas by Glarotex AG from Switzerland, at last year’s edition. Due to the diversity of buyer natures, both cost-effective and high-end products generate plenty of interest at the fair. The Premium Wool Zone is regarded by domestic buyers as an ideal place to source high-end wool textiles – a product category with high demand, as China’s high-end tailoring market continues to thrive. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is the ideal place to observe domestic trends in China, and the Premium Wool Zone is no exception, with highly-regarded European brands Huddersfield & Cloth, Abraham Moon & Sons, and Stylbiella returning to Shanghai to access the China market for another year. With the Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics spanning six halls at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai) this year, there’s plenty of room for comprehensive product zones and display areas to inspire the next season of apparel sourcing. The fair will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, Yarn Expo Spring, PH Value and CHIC. Online pre-registration is now open for visitors worldwide. To pre-register and download a mobile e-badge prior to the fair, visitors may visit http://sh.intertextileapparel.com. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2019 is co-organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Textile Information Centre.
