Let's check out Lily Linglan =D

I've been seeing Lily Linglan in the StreetVoice playlist from time to time, and I wasn't sure if it was a real person singing, because of the VTuber anime avatar. But then I noticed that 盧鈞右 Neon Lu from the band 吾橋有水 FloodingBridge and 烘嗓音樂 Home Sound YT channel does the musical arrangement/production.

If this is a real singer who just wants to be *anonymous, perhaps it is Kiwi 綺綺 from the Kaohsiung duo Lazy樂團 or 莊蕎嫣 Faye.Z from 吾橋有水 FloodingBridge? Both work with Neon Lu, doing originals and covers.

Or maybe 'Lily Linglan' is a Vocaloid singer, ala Hatsune Miku?

Another informative feature from TaiwanPlus about the recent Megaport Festival, this time hosted by reporter/singer 香香 Yvonne Yang from the band Greedy Black Hole  =D

Yvonne interviews Fire EX. 滅火器, 大象體操 Elephant Gym, Whyte -?te壞特 (?te壞特 speaks perfect English). 

She also interviews Joe Henley (Twitter) from the band Dharma 達摩樂隊.  Joe used to write music features for the Taipei Times, and that was so helpful back in the early years of FYCI.   Besides being a singer in his own bands, Joe has also taught other TW singers how to sing death metal growling style without doing damage to their vocal cords.  Joe also writes features for Taiwan Beats.

TW Ministry of Culture Recording Grants Announced!

There are a lot of different categories, but we're mainly concerned with the subsidies for recording projects on this page: https://grants.moc.gov.tw/Web/AnnounceName_List.jsp?

Lots of familiar artists getting help with *upcoming projects, including some surprises. (The Shine & Shine & Shine & Shine 閃閃閃閃 ?! I thought they were on permanent hiatus.)

*I'm seeing some grants for projects that have already been released, so that can be confusing.

There are a LOT of artists getting money, especially in the Album list, so I'll just gonna pluck some familiar names from a few categories:

Album grants in the "Popular Music Production and Distribution Subsidy-Creative Orchestra": Codie, Limi, 莉莉周她說 Lily Chou-Chou Lied, 甜約翰 Sweet John

EP grants: The Dinosaur's Skin 恐龍的皮 (That is a Crispy side project), Yilith

Larger grants in the "Popular Music Production and Distribution Subsidy Case-Recording Upgrade Category": Vast & Hazy, Wonfu 旺福, Paige Su, Whyte -?te壞特

There is also a category for native language (Paiwan, Hakka, etc.) project subsidies.
