#Vriska spent a long chunk of her afterlife laboring outside the spotlight to help people

(I'm sorry if I ask too many questions.)
If you had the mechanical possibilities, would you have Vriska live or die? Why or why not? I'm sketching out ideas for a rewrite thing somewhat based on yours, and in mine 9 Trolls would live, with Feferi and Gamzee definitely fully dying; I theoretically could write the means to give Vriska the Ring, but I'm wondering what her death would add or subtract? Do you feel her final death was a choice you would have made on your own, or was it your conclusion to her under the necessary caveat of Canon-3 year retcon=dead Vriska? (I've always struggled with the idea of redemption and survival in my fic and original writing, the easy way out versus the possibility of an overly saccharine ending.)
I don't mind the questions! It is a mental workout sometimes to cast my mind back so far, but luckily I did a writeup on this back when it happened!
In summary, I'm sure I could've found a way (rules lawyering weird loopholes is my passion) but if we brought back Vriska we were bringing back everyone, and that's not the route we wanted to take.
I was very much not trying to do a redemption through death, though - Vriska had a long time in the bubbles to short her shit out, and by the time TLC ends, I think she'd done a good job of it. Her double dying wasn't her being 'redeemed', it was her taking one last bow before the dreamers left the stage. It does rankle me a bit that both Thieves in TLC die sacrificially, because I didn't want to imply that's the only 'good' end for the personality type, but it's how the cards (literal index cards) fell.
