And so it goes. As the last few items wind their way out of @Tenthwardco we say good bye to downtown Frederick for now. (And yes, we swept the floor before leaving🤣) . Everything is nestled down back here at the farm, including us, so that now last week feels almost like a dream. It’s tough to describe how energizing it has been to work and decorate a fresh and beautiful space like this. I still love our barns with a passion, yet this little foray into urban design has given my creative juices a lot to work on. Grand things coming - so stay tuned. Interior Trip

Jelas, kunci memperluas perspektif pribadi bisa dengan melalui liburan dan membaca buku. Hari ini bagi saya adalah sebuah liburan singkat, belajar namun bukan dari buku, yaitu pergi ke beberapa toko lampu dan furnitur di selatan Jakarta. Agak aneh? Hahaha. Sejujurnya agak malas mencantumkan foto-foto selama pergi ke sana, mungkin kapan-kapan akan dicantumkan.

Lighting

1. La Luce Toko lampu ini tidak terlalu besar, hanya ruko 3 lantai. Tetapi koleksinya sangat lengkap, banyak lampu yang jadi favorit saya di sana. Karena ukuran tokonya yang tidak terlalu sebanding dengan jumlah koleksi yang ada, tiap produk dipasang dengan jarak yang terlalu dekat sehingga akan agak sulit untuk membayangkan suatu produk akan seperti apa suasananya jika dipasang di suatu ruangan. Di antara 3 toko yang dikunjungi, ini favorit saya.

2. Lightology Di sini tokonya lebih luas, lengkap dengan beberapa furnitur yang jadi pendukung display lampu yang dijual, misal ada ruang makan atau ruang keluarga. Tapi sesuai preferensi pribadi, koleksi yang saya suka tidak sebanyak di La Luce.

3. Ardente Lighting Boleh sebut saya pemalas kali ini karena pendapat saya soal Ardente sama saja dengan Lightology.

Furniture

1. Box Living Sebagaimana kategori lampu tadi, destinasi pertama ini adalah toko furnitur favorit untuk saya dari 3 lainnya. Tokonya well-designed, gaya furniturnya mewah khas Eropa, koleksinya banyak sekali yang baik. Bagi saya ini showroom yang cantik. Poin plus, wangi ruangannya pas.

2. Urbanloft Cara display furnitur di sini tidak kalah menarik, namun cenderung lebih modern daripada Box Living. Namun koleksi di sini merupakan replika dari karya desainer terkenal, misalnya Eames. Hal yang minor tapi terasa adalah, wangi ruangannya seperti parfum yang... tajam? Hahaha. Secara keseluruhan showroom ini sudah cukup baik. Salah satu yang tidak luput dari saya adalah adanya dekorasi little monks yang bagus.

3. Kayu Ayu Koleksi di sini lebih unik daripada yang lain, yaitu peranakan Cina. Beberapa dekorasi sangat bagus menurut saya. Sayangnya, toko ini belum ditunjang dengan pencahayaan yang baik sehingga terasa redup. Padahal akan jauh lebih menarik bila lampu-lampu (terutama spotlight) ditambah.

4. Saniharto Sebenarnya di antara 3 toko furnitur yang lain, detail furnitur Saniharto tergolong paling baik karena... sila kunjungi sendiri dan pegang langsung furniturnya untuk tahu mengapa bisa jadi paling baik. Tapi lagi-lagi letak masalahnya di pencahayaan. Secara keseluruhan dari segi koleksi memang Saniharto sudah baik.

Saya tahu tulisan ini agak menyebalkan kalau belum mencantumkan foto tokonya. Tapi sedikit hal yang saya perhatikan dari ‘liburan’ ini, desain toko furnitur memang pasti susah karena harus mencantumkan semua varian produk tanpa terkesan berlebihan. Selain itu, pencahayaan adalah salah satu hal yang krusial jika bicara soal toko furnitur dan tentu saja toko lampu.

Semakin ingin belajar lebih spesifik soal lighting.
