like kgpr's fall from popularity makes me so sad bc it didnt fall off bc it had finished, it fell off bc of executives rushing the franchise along, that led to bad writing choices... like i said, kgpr 'ended' in 2014 with mca showcasing a good ending, but the manga, a key component in even understanding mca's storyline, was only ever finished in 2019. which by then kagepro had already lost a lot of popularity. like....

like it didnt have to be like this :( they couldve taken their time with this. bc, ppl really liked kagepro back then... its hard to state just how immensely popular kagepro was during its peak, in like 2012-2014. it wasnt super mainstream popular like aot or anything, but it was the most popular niche thing at the time. if you knew vocaloid, then you knew of kagerou project. like people take mca for granted nowadays, but do you understand just how significant it is that an extremely indie novel music project thing was popular enough to receive an anime? and also, how jin was one of the earliest producers to make vocaloid songs featuring characters that werent the vocaloid themselves, and how he got so much hate for it at first. and did you know headphone actor was like, a demo song for IA? it was made with IA before IA was publicly released, yet managed to go viral. it was the first IA song to get a million+ views, even before IA was released. and also how ayano's theory of happiness mv holds the record for one of the fastest video to hit a million views on nnd, in less than 5 hours or smth...

like.. kagepro was Big. Bigggg. people loved this story, and they loved these characters. it was taking pixiv and nnd over by storm... like you had to be there to understand just how much people loved novel 5. bc novel 5 was released during kgpr's peak, during Mekakucity Records era, and before the anime. people were losing their minds over the plot revelations tying everything together, and it was the best selling light novel for that month too i think... kano shuuya fanart was everywhereeee. this is how much people liked kagerou project. but this buzz and popularity coincided with the releases of music videos and the anime. and instead of spacing out the production of those two medias, they were all rushed out in such a short amount of time 😞 its just very sad to me, bc you can tell just how passionate jin and sidu and all the other ppl who worked on it were about this project. jin really had a story he wanted to write, and it was a story that many, many people wanted to read about. but so many people dont pay attention to it anymore, or understand it (and to no fault of their own, with how convoluted kgpr had to become to fit in everything), even though it isnt completed... and the mekakucity reload anime is in copyright limbo. its all very sad 😞😞😞😞

posting this snippet of arañita wip again because i feel like i’ve talked about vaguely. Sparingly. and assume most know what i am talking about. LOL so let me Elaborate a bit (excuse any typos this is all deeply unedited ofc)

my next big long form project that i’ve had rotating in my brain since. literally since the summer of 2021 😵‍💫😵‍💫 however i did not have The Tools to write it then. but boy do i have them now.

so it’s dc comics for tim drake specifically. it’s also got some spider fusion elements, modeled after an amalgamation of miles morales aka spider-man and cindy moon aka silk. mostly specifically cindy moon, actually, as you can see the mc also has the last name. she’s half korean to honor cindy, since she’ll use the name silk. (the other half is mexican/puerto rican because i simply cannot help myself At All.)

it’s not a crossover Exactly. just kind of. An exchange of sorts. if you will. no marvel elements other than the spider powers and gratuitous references to peter parker as a comic book character within That universe. it’s quite Juicy really it’s gonna be a bigggg slow burn because leah doesn’t like tim but she ends up revealing her new powers to him / he figures it out and decides he needs to both help her and also watch her to make sure she doesn’t do anything bad (Which she doesn’t know bc she just thinks he’s helping) and he’s gonna be hiding some big big secrets from her and there will be some. betrayal. it’s gonna be soooooo fun.

i’m hopefully gonna get to it when i finish the two other ideas i have for him. so. if anyone wanted to know. that’s what it’s about. mostly. without spoilers.

hiya!! sorry to bother you, but i'm kind of need of some advice. this might sound ridiculous, but i'm switching to a new high school this upcoming school year and it's all online, which is great for my mental health!! but my problem is that i have a live orientation this upcoming monday and i don't know how to handle it. what should i make sure i ask? i don't like people my age, but i'll be forced to talk to them, how do i deal with these people? help!! - ashton

just to get it out of the way, omg i’m so excited for you??? this is amazing, congratulations on the switch! 

alright, so orientation is a thing, lemme throw some things at you and you can see if anything sticks and works for you? (if not just lemme know and i’m on the case to search for something else!)

as always, some tips in bullet points

firstly, always remember that orientation is about welcoming new students. everyone you see is likely to be just as nervous or excited or what have you! that means it’ll be easier for first impressions- everyone wants everyone to like them, so it’s 100% unlikely that you mess anything up! so no worries about that!

also, you is taking an online school!!! even if u do something even remotely awkward, who cares??? literally no one can hurt you or spread rumors or whatever dumb crap kiddies in high school pull or what have you because you’re taking online classes. so don’t worry too much about that either!

and then i guess my philosophy is always to make nice with everyone you can! i suppose if you don’t like interacting with people your age / people in general, esp at orientation, here’s the game plan:

think of an introduction and loosely memorize its format.

maybe ‘hey, i’m ashton, nice to meet you. i’m (age), a (freshie, junior, etc).’ and then fill in the blanks with something you like perhaps, a hobby, what classes you’re taking, etc. and then say ‘what about you?’ or something along those lines.

the key is to get the other person to talk so you don’t have to! and then you just have to listen (even maybe not listen but pretend to pay attention).

try and see if you can find people taking the same classes as you, see if there’s anyone you can connect to (doesn’t have to be a deep connection, classmate-friendship level is fine) and just maybe give them a way to contact you in case you need help but keep it simple to avoid too much conversation / contact?

in general, just a quick intro to talk to these people is fine! you’ll eventually click with someone enough to at least tolerate, so just stick with them until orientation is over and then you’ll be just fine.

make sure to ask questions about:

the format of the online classes / any questions you have about classes online

how to contact the teacher, etc. in case of an emergency or wtv

ask about your specific classes, if there’s anything to be worried about, maybe any special projects or stuff you should be in the lookout for

how online class works, in the sense of who you need to communicate with (teacher, classmates, etc.), when you might need to call or videochat your teacher, etc.

i’ve only taken one or two online classes so i don’t know much, but that’s probably what you should focus on. maybe make sure to ask how online classes are different than actually physically going to a high school, if there’s any transition tips people can give you?

beyond that, i can’t really think of much else? i know this is in no way comprehensive but it’s just a quick thing i think might help? honestly if you have any more questions or want to know the specifics of stuff, just send me another ask or message me, alright, love?

Important Update

First I'd like to thank @mischacrossing (the first time I made this post I @'d the wrong person😱 whoops!) for your super helpful tutorial!

So recently I've learned to use Home Brew and hack my game. Honestly it's SUPER neat and didn't take super long to do. To be safe, I did it using my old 3DS, and I haven't had any issues.

If anyone has a problem with hacked towns, I'm really sorry, and if it bothers you, then don't visit via Dream Address. I really don't want anons in my box with rude messages (I've already had one..). This blog is just QRs and snap shots.

Rapture is undergoing a BIGGGG change due to all this stuff I've found. It's a really big project for me, but I'm excited! I'll be updating the Dream Address regularly (maybe once a week?) if any of you want to watch it grow!
