I really like the headcanon I saw on the discord about Theo getting gender affirmation feels from his and Orion's size difference. Male sand sharks are smaller than females, so him being smaller than Orion is like- strangely affirming?

Fable: Probably not- That is a whole ass toddler Mer: Canoncally- no. Theo's top surgery was likely done well enough but they were on the run and Theo probably didn't let them heal all the way before moving. But I do love seeing art of him with fun scars!!

You've talked a bit in the past about how your characters ended up in romantic relationships, but what about familial? How were Rae and Theo's sibling relationships developed behind the scenes?

For Rae-- After the first town hall meeting I think it was Sherbert and Haley came to me. They knew they wanted Sherbert to have a sibling in the lore and just hadn't figured out who it would be yet. After that town meeting they liked Rae a lot and came poking For Theo I asked Ocie if she wanted her character to have an older brother hehe
