Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - Timorous Me (2001)
Fantastic song from The Tyranny Of Distance, which shows a strong Thin Lizzy influence. Love this song.
There was an awkward pause and something that should have began Just passed us by

1/13/23.
Before Ted Leo + The Pharmacists there was Chisel. This band was formed by three Notre Dame (South Bend, Indiana) students in the mid 1990s. And yes, Ted Leo was one of the three.
I'm a big Ted Leo fan, and I'd never heard of Chisel, but upon listening to "Set You Free" (originally issued on Gern Blandsten, and soon to be reissued by Numero Group) I can hear the songwriting and sound that would later become associated with Ted Leo. Listen to "The O.T.S." or "Morley Timmons" - really listen to any song here.
You can hear a bit of Green Day and Soul Asylum. Here and there you can hear the pub rock sounds of early Nick Lowe.
Chisel will be embarking on a Winter/Spring tour. In February 2023 they'll be in San Francisco for Noise Pop.

And what do you make of nights
When you thought you'd make much more
Than being too tired to turn the lights out
And too tired to drink more?
And what does it take to not hear the cynics at your door saying
"It's time the turn the lights out, and you'll want to keep it down!"

We interrupt your regularly scheduled deluge of Fall Out Boy content for a brief intermission of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists awesomeness, please enjoy.
But on the days and nights it's hard to breathe and you can't believe you still walk the streets Stretch out your weary hand to me, it's alright And if you're not content to just believe and if you don't consent to just let it be Stretch out your legs and dance with me all night
