Tbh the thing I like most about ch 111 is simply how much inspiration its given me for my Ashford Island au. Like its been how many months? And Im finally thinking about it again and actually making progress on the behind the scenes stuff.

We imagined a late post apocalyptic AU because why not. I’ll just copy paste and vaguely edit my rambling from discord, excuse the mess I’m lazy. Imagine a pokemon journey in wilderness without pokeballs that’s like “Hey kid, go out, tame a friend, don’t die, see ya!” The world is a mess cause something caused pokemon to go berserk, change, become huge and destroy everything in sight before passing themselves. Mess! Something like 100 years later, humans live here and there and try not to be stomped by the rare but still happening berserk pokemon. Red and Leaf are travelling. They're from a small village, there's a bunch of them in a valley near a south coast. They meet Green, who is from another part of the continent, from a community that has managed to maintain and restore a bunch of old tech. He’s doing research out there for them, they're trying to dig back useful things from the ruins, especially things that could help them contain and maybe stop the appearance of berserk pokemon. Green is harsh and battle-oriented, while Leaf and Red are used to merge with their surroundings and work around and with pokemon, so they clash a lot at the beggining. but Red insist that if someone is trying to solve this problem, they should at least try to see what they're doing and maybe help if they're actually managing something good. Red hates it when pokemon go berserk, because when they finally are taken down or wear themsleves out it always feels like he can hear them crying. Green's parents have been killed by a berserk pokemon, so he really wants to end this. But he has almost a revengful approach to it. His grandpa is the Head researcher of their settlement, and he genuinely loves pokemon. He’s very sad that Green is so scared by that event that he was never able to get a pokemon partner of his own. He does not go out of his way to hurt them or anuthing, but, he consider them wild and dangerous and absolutely untrustworthy. He knows them well though, he's extremely clever and knowledgable about old technology, so he keeps being sent out on missions to retrieve and study various stuff and find new interesting locations. And one day he comes back with a broken arm in a sling, accompanied by two strangers and their pokemon. This causes a huge surprise, because travellers are always welcome but: the black haired guy has a pikachu with him (these little pest are almost impossible to tame) and the girl? The girl has a fully grown massive charizard with her. A huge charizard that acts like a growlithe puppy. Maybe more surprising is that Green has a pokemon egg with him that he’s taking care of. They found it in the wreckage left by the pokemon that attacked Green and Red insist he keeps it. Green thinks he’s gonna give the poke to some kid when it hatches, but then Eevee hatches, mewl at him, and he’s lost. So yeah, exploring, adventures, finding stuff, finding solutions hopefully, and Green slowly and helplessely attracting more and more pokemon companions and being an obsessive mother to them. This needs good environment drawings... But it’s hard to make! Y___Y Well, @empearts did because some people have balls you know? XD I really like these kind of settings for stories. Exploring wreckages to find out wtf happened. It’s a popular genre these days, in 2017 the two top selling games (I think) were horizon zero down and Zelda Breath of the Wild. Also I’ve rambled before about how my fav manga of all times is Nausicäa. And about how Stand Still Stay Silent is the best shit ever. Also, Always Coming Back by Ursula Le Guin is one of my faves books of all time!
