Midnight thoughts on Batmom and her children's clothes.
WARNING: My mother was like this, Not on the money side, though. And you ask:¿Ella, are you projecting?, and I will answer: No. ¿Were you got such nonsense idea?
This gif represents my mind right now. I should be sleeping.
Tumblr media
Batmom keeps its kids SPOTLESS when it comes to dressing. She doesn't control what they wear, but her kids have only the best brands on them. And if she couldn't get whatever they want in the best brand, it's gonna will be tailored for them.
JUST THE BEST FOR HER BABIES.
And she does not repeat it, there is no such thing as the younger brother taking the clothes of the older one in this family. Each child has their own style, autonomy and clothes, and they rarely agree on those things so sharing is never an option for them when it comes to clothing. If her baby grows out of their clothes, Batmom donate it or keep it for future grandchildren.
I mean, I'm talking about #silentluxury for her children, from they feet to the tip of their heads.
The funniest thing about all this is that most of the time they do not even realize it. It's not until a Gotham news forum pulls out a detailed article about the Wayne's silent luxury fashion and how it dates from Dick's early days at the mansion to the present day with Damian that they notice the pattern.
Like, imagine newly-reunited-with-his-family-but-still-rebellious Jason wearing a sweatshirt of the brand The Row that clearly bought his mom and costs at least $ 800 that he can not pay because he is a rebel and does not need his dad's money but he acepts gifts from his mum, of course.
Or little Dick returning from a day of art classes (because Batmom decided to give him other extracurricular activities other than a vigilante dressed as a traffic light) excited with his Dior jeans of $ 1300 dollars stained in paint, but with a work of art in his hand that he did only for his mommy.
Or Tim, wearing a pair of $450 black Gucci sandals, walking half-asleep out of his college class after he didn't hear his alarm, so he left with the first thing he found from his apartment.
Or Damian, putting one of his cashmire sweaters on Titus at Christmas, wearing a maching of his own, equally expensive and soft.
Also, imagine Cassandra only wearing THE BEST in balett shoes and equipment, totally unconsciously of the amount of money that really costs, all that because neither Batmom nor Bruce ever told her because it's nothing really that expensive for this family.
And no matter how many clothes they ruin. Never. And I repeat: NEVER their mom will allow her children to have something less.
(They are more spoiled than they themselves even realize.)
Bruce got jealous at some point and started letting Batmom choose his wardrobe as well.
Allright, NOW I'm done.
Good night.

i honestly, truly don't think most Europeans understand how big the U.S. is.
we are basically fifty different countries stacked in a trenchcoat. we are almost the same size as Europe in its entirety. it takes 15 straight hours just to drive across my home state. the cultural and economic difference between Oklahoma and California is like comparing Croatia and the Netherlands.
stop forming your ideas of what living here is like based on that one trip to NYC you took in college or that one influencer you follow that lives in San Fransisco

1885 edition of the brick!!!

i get irrationally drawn to certain objects i see, and unfortunately, this pretty overpriced 1885 edition of les miserables was that item i was drawn to. i needed it.
from my research, this edition was printed all throughout the 1880s along with illustrated editions of many of hugo’s works.
i’m sure you recognize at least a couple of the illustrations here, as these are full of the classic gustav brion and emile bayard illustrations (including the famed one of cosette!)
these images are just a fraction of the amount of illustrations throughout it. it is PACKED with illustrations, almost every chapter having one as this edition has ones done by multiple artists. this clearly was even higher end for the time! it’s filled with illustrations, impressively large, sturdy covers, and i don’t know if it’s just me but the paper does feel stronger than some from books ive worked with or owned from this period.
while flipping through the pages, it definitely feels soulful. on several of the pages, there’s clearly a thumb indent from reading, which might be annoying to some. but to me it makes it all the more charming. clearly, someone throughly enjoyed it. whoever this person was, i feel connected to them a little bit.
this edition is BEAUTIFUL and i am very proud to own it!

A bathroom sink here has been slow to drain. I attempted various remedies with no success. The basement floor drain is also very reluctant to accept water from the furnace and air conditioner system.
So I called a guy.
A plumber I've used in the past had given me the guy's name when a drain in this house was clogged about seven years ago. Until that point I didn't know there was a difference between plumbers and drain cleaners.
Anytime someone comes to my house to fix or build something I like asking questions and watching how things are done. It's more interesting than my own job. People would fall asleep if I described a typical day of my work.
When my chimney had to be rebuilt I asked the head bricklayer if I could get on the scaffolding and look down inside the exposed chimney. The brick workers all stepped back. One hollered "Homeowner coming up!"
He probably figured I would nitpick something. I really just wanted to climb the scaffolding and look inside the chimney. Shockingly, they let me do it. There isn't just one big void inside all the bricks like I thought.
When I carefully climbed back down I said, "Cool. Thanks." That was met with stares from guys who just wanted to get back to work.
The drain guy today seemed to enjoy answering my questions about drain and pipe clearing. My house was his last stop of the day. I didn't want to make him late for dinner. He smiled when I said I'd asked my last question. He also said he didn't mind the questions. Then he added that if I ever have more questions about pipes and drains I could call and ask over the phone!
One question I asked was if he could tell what was blocking the bathroom drain. He replied, "Not really. Pipes get a buildup of stuff and when it gets cleared it goes out to the city sewer connection, not back into the house."
So I couldn't prove it was gobs and gobs of long, red hair. But I think we all know.

So Allegedly Infinite Wealth is 100 hours... not that you can't already spend that long on the games if you really want to, but I'd say it's the first time that could be said to be the base experience rather than a time only hardcore completionists are likely to get.
Yokoyama was talking at length about wanting to make the game worth the price tag since the team is incredibly conscious about the value of the players' time and money. They essentially feel they owe players ten times what they paid, so they're aiming for "an enjoyable 100 hours, but also an unforgettable 100 hours."
If they pull it off, I personally think it'd be 100% worth it and not just a "well other studios are doing it so we can get away with it too" price hike... I'm at least happy to know that's not the intent, and I'm intrigued to see how everything pans out and what the ratio is between story and side content
oh yayaya i saw that article this morning!!! 100 hours is actually so unfathomable to me in terms of an rgg game- i mean y7 was At Minimum around 45~50 hours but when i think of other RPGS that easily dip into 70's and 100's of hours, i'm not too surprised to see LAD start to climb towards those numbers now. it'd be such a jump in rgg's terms tho, so i'm TRULY curious to see where the nearly doubled gameplay hours comes from..
i really appreciate yoko's respect not just to RGGS but also to its customers: they want to make a great product, but they also don't want to sacrifice what they want to do to do that in the process
