WR7DVIEWS: TRAVIS SCOTT TOOK US TO UTOPIA

Jacques Bermon Webster II, better known by his stage name TRAVIS SCOTT delivered a phenomenally produced album titled UTOPIA on July 28th.

The sound design of the album is otherworldly, to say the least. It gives off a multidimensional, intergalactic feel. Something I know the aliens would probably be blasting through the speakers on their routine road trip to Earth.

The album includes genres like old-school hip-hop on "HYAENA", Southern African samples on "SIRENS" to even a somewhat 80s hip-hop-inspired track titled "MODERN JAM."

You can easily hear the range of talent from Travis as well as the artists who are featured on the project.

Travis addresses topics that hit close to home. Such as the events that took place in 2021 at the ASTROWORLD concert.

"MELTDOWN" features a very aggressive verse from Toronto's Very Own, Drake. Where he addresses his own beef with Pusha T and talks about how he melted down Pharrells chains due to his lack of respect for their heritage/history. In the next verse, Travis directs shots at Kylie Jenner's new boyfriend and makes it known that she will not "find another flame as hot" as him.

God, Angels, and Lucifer were heavily spoken of throughout the album. As is expected knowing how often Travis uses religious symbolism within his music videos and products.

There are so many quotable lyrics; I wasn't expecting such a profoundly lyrical project but I'm not mad at it. It makes the album all that much better.

I have to mention the Beyoncé feature on "DELRESTO (ECHOES)" sounded like something that could have been on her recent album release "RENAISSANCE" Beyoncé sounded like an angel who fell directly from heaven just to be on this track and it is absolutely on par with how the album makes you feel. Truly ethereal.

My favorite song on the album had to be "TELEKINESIS" which features artists Future and SZA. SZA sounded like a complete lunatic in her verse but it all the best ways! The lyrics were quite relateable and I just love a good Travis/SZA collaboration. Their sounds just work really well together.

21 Savages' feature on the last track "TIL FURTHER NOTICE" was another one of my favorites and was a great way to end this phenomenal piece of art.

WR7DVIEWS: THE HEALING POWER OF MUSIC "THE BLUE HOUR"

REXX LIFE RAJ HEALING THROUGH MUSIC

Listening to the beginning of this album he briefly sets the tone for the audience. We know right away that this is an album that will be very emotional. An ode to his late mother. "New Normal" being the second song on the album gives you a sense of peace of mind kind of feel. Coming to terms with the reality that the person you love will not meet you again physically but lives on in memories. The whole album is sprinkled with voice memos of Rexx's mother keeping her faith that she will be healed, prayers, and words of wisdom that she was recorded preaching. It gave the album a sense of openness, complete transparency, and extremely vulnerable. There is power in vulnerability although I still haven't been too comfortable showing those parts of me just yet. Rexx's album definitely inspires me to be more transparent because listening to his story and music helped me put things into a better perspective. It also helps to know that it's not just YOU and YOU alone who face these hardships in life. You don't have to face them on your own. Who know being open and honest might incite a support group that you wouldn't have created any other way. I am still learning the meaning of transparency in my life and being patient with myself is a part of that process. Learning and unlearning bad habits or wrong thinking is a process. A journey never-ending. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. If you need healing or just a blissful meditative and therapeutic album to listen to. I definitely recommend checking out "The Blue Hour" 💙

WR7DVIEW: PRADA ME

PRADA ME CAN'T SEE THROUGH THESE

The title of my new playlist releasing this Friday, July 22nd. Embody's the attitude of remembering one's accomplishments. Sometimes I forget who I am and most importantly what I am capable of. I've talked about not sleeping on my own potential any longer and using my energy to the best of my ability. I am humbled to have been able to experience such grandeur opportunities. Things I don't talk about it too often. Being able to have met Jack Dorsey Creator of Square and former CEO of Twitter; twice and documenting both experiences was incredible. I was literally in a room with a man who has a Net Worth of 4.5 Billion Dollars. That experience alone confirms that I am on the right path and that amount of money is realistically attainable. Getting to be flown out by Fidelity Investments to a Navy Base in Pensacola Florida to experience what it would be like to be a Pilot was also one of my top-tier memories. I express those experiences to further explain that there is no limit to my dreams. "Dream with your eyes open." At one point in time, I thought I wanted to be a Navy Officer or a Computer Scientist. Focusing on those deep desires allowed for those opportunities to flow to me more easily. Without my pure intentions, I may have not been gifted the opportunity to fly to San Fransico, for the Twitter Early Bird program or gain internships at Draper Laboratory and Pinterest and feel what it would be like to be a full-time software engineer. "What you seek is seeking you." Sometimes you have to look back at your resume and remember what you have accomplished and realize that there's more to gain. Out of those experiences, and in the future. Focus on what you truly desire and the universe will conspire with you to attain just that.
