Picked up suitor armour after not reading it for like... Two years and??? Omg my heart, my soul, my everything.

Lucia/Ricon + a kiss to prove a point

"I have," Lucia announced, "your general."

She said it loud enough to cross the clearing, clear and decisive, like a leader. She had gotten practiced at raising her voice, at letting anger burn away doubts and wincing shyness until her words rang like warning bells. And best of all, she said it in complete truth. Her magic bound Ricon's arms, and one fist had a brutal grip on his hair.

Thirty yards away, the knights exchanged uncertain glances; the officers and soldiers did not. Ricon laughed low, only for her. "That might work on a band of storybook heroes, my dear," he murmured, "but this is the military."

Lucia glanced at him to find muted signs of delight in his face: a silvery light in his half-lidded eyes, the ghost of a smirk, and a quick rise and fall of his chest that she knew didn't come from fear. She might have guessed he would make a terrible, unconcerned hostage. Once, she might have panicked about that. "Put down your weapons!" she shouted at his men. When none of them moved to obey, she lowered her voice to hiss at Ricon, "Give the order."

"If I don't, are you going to kill me, Lucia?" he drawled. He flexed against the magic that drew his arms tight behind his back; but her spell held, for now. "Seems unsporting."

Ricon was not trying to persuade her. She knew him too well to think that. He truly wasn't afraid—not of dying on the battlefield. But Lucia had learned to use anything and everything at her disposal.

"You don't mind losing your life," she said, "but what about losing everything else?" She yanked him closer by the hair, until he had to bend down to her level. He gave a huff that would have been approval in different circumstances, but right now, he was trying to hide it. Lucia's lips brushed his ear. "Do these men need to know that you let this happen because you couldn't keep your hands off me?"

Ricon said nothing. She couldn't see his expression, but his silence was one of suddenly chilled calculation. Lucia's voice lowered further, to something smoky. "How many of your men did I burn down that night, Ricon? I don't remember. But I would wager that you do." She took his chin and turned his face toward hers. There was fire in his eyes. She smiled. "I know they remember."

Ricon searched her gaze. She lived for this still: that Ricon looked at her and assessed a real threat, seeing all she could do. "You think they would believe you?" he said at last.

There was no time for either of them to stall. The soldiers across the clearing needed to put down their weapons now, or one of them would get brave. They would not surrender without Ricon's order. So, with one hand still in his silky hair and the other running over his jaw, Lucia kissed him—hard, merciless, and wanton. She knew just what raised his pulse and summoned his rumbling, triumphant, breathless laughter, and she used it against him now.

When he tried to wrench away from her, so that his men would see him resist, she let him go—because she knew then that she had won.

But guys have we seen ricon’s ears yet??? Obsessed with Ricon being a ruthless fairy hunter while being a fairy himself. His upbringing mirrors Lucia’s which is how he instinctively picks up on her hiding something - he’s been doing it loooonngg before her. He hides wasp wings under his cape :)

I don't think the fairies killed/tried to kill Reimund and Kirsi.

Or at the very least, they didn't tear Kirsi's face apart.

Firstly, the fairing were literally just looking for Quinn. Yes, they were violent in the raid, but they had absolutely no reason to go after the King and Queen. Of course it is entirely possible that one went rogue, but it seems unlikely. I had the sneaking suspicion that SOMETHING was fishy after the S2 finale but didn't have any solid evidence to support said suspicion. HOWEVER I may now.

Examining Kirsi's current scarring and injuries (may change/heal over time as she's still in the process of healing) most of the gashes are around her mouth. (This kinda reminds me Kuchisake-Onna but that's another ramble.) However... let's take a look at the S2 finale.

I'm fairly freakin' sure she still has her lower lips here. She's bleeding profusely and has probably had her throat slit by now, but the extraordinary mutilation has not yet occurred. It is ENTIRELY possible that this was just an oversight or that her S3 design wasn't finalized yet. However, I find it odd that the choice to still show part of her head WITHOUT THE INJURIES was made.

If this was intentional, that means she got most of her facial scarring AFTER LUCIA FOUND HER BODY.

Everything past this point is merely speculation, but I believe that it was not the fairies but rather Lord Ricon. I believe he was the one to kill his nephew (who he was angry at) and attempt to kill Kirsi. At the very least I'm pretty sure he was the one to brutally attack Kirsi in such a manner.

It would make sense in my mind.

Possibility A is that Kirsi was SUPPOSED to die but did not. Either Ricon failed to kill her (which I doubt) OR Lucia (as we see her lose control of her magic) healed or resurrected Kirsi by accident. Ricon failed to kill Kirsi. However, he still has this girl wrapped around his finger, and is only looking for ways to make her more dependent on him. What better way than to make her hide her face? Kirsi has lost her father and her husband and has received life-changing injuries, this is the PERFECT time for Ricon to manipulate the young queen further and make her bend to his will.

Possibility B is that Ricon did the same as above, however that leaving Kirsi alive was intentional and her mutilated her face later.

This is a very out-there theory for me but I think I've got some good evidence by my opinion and I am HYPED to see where this goes from here!
