sorry if it’s redundant getting asked so consistently, but how’s the blue lock reading going? (i’m almost fully caught up now :P) <3

Haha this definitely hasn't been sitting in my inbox for weeks as I read at a snail's pace (I'm sorry 💀) but I've passed Chapter 200 and have read the England v. Germany match now! I'll kinda go character by character for what I wanna talk about.

Kaiser and Isagi are fun to watch together, this panel was a particular favorite of mine it made me laugh:

They're sooooo weird about each other lmao someone get them into therapy. Certainly intrigued by Kaiser, but still waiting for a bit more information on him to get really invested (same goes for Ness). Isagi's development throughout the match was really great, I like the way that he out maneuvered Kaiser a lot and it was very funny seeing him put a stop to Nagireo and Prince lmao.

Speaking of Nagireo, good arc for them! I like Nagi but really who I cheer for and want to see is Reo, I think his dynamics with everyone is a lot of fun to watch and him working through his complex feelings towards Nagi felt very realistic, I would be upset at him too (but I also get where Nagi was coming from)! But them coming together again, wow love is alive huh. I'm also very excited at what Ego brought up where he knows Nagi can never recreate that goal, and how that will impact him as a player. I do love seeing Nagi get to do cool plays but U also love seeing him get humbled lmao.

Still waiting for more Chigiri character development 😔 Don't get me wrong he was very cool in this match and had a lot of great moments, but I really feel like he deserves a lil more spotlight on him and his struggles instead of being like "Oh I'm upgraded now to world class." I feel like we see a lot more struggle to improve from everyone else so it's a little strange that it's kinda just handed to him? I onow it isn't really he works very hard but I just want more from him cause I like Chigiri a lot :/

Big star of this arc and a surprise to me was Yukimiya! Felt like he had such good development and so many great moments, obviously his goal being the highlight:

I really liked his conflict with Isagi because yeah, Isagi was being kind of a jerk! But also Isagi didn't have the context of how important this match and football really was to Yukimiya with his eye disease, so them coming together in the end was very satisfying, and I liked how they made up to each other :')

Overall I liked this match a lot! Excited to see Barou again for the next match, and also Kunigami took more a backseat in this match which I think was the right call, but hoping to see more of him in this upcoming match.

my favorite female character: hnnngn coulter

my favorite male character: lee!

my favorite book/season/etc: only s1 is out atm but i very much hope the remaining ones are better than what i've heard abt the books

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): whatever one had coulter realize lyra was in that separation machine and she lost her shit ;n;

my favorite cast member: hMm maybe ruth wilson? i don't know a ton abt the rest i just love that she incorporated movements similar to that of her daemon into her acting and also hnghngnhnhg ruth pretty i gay

my favorite ship: coulter/asriel or, because i'm here i guess, lee/iorek. there’s some interesting potential in coulter/ma costa but i feel like... i need to see more of the show before i know how to actually handle something that fucky.

a character I’d die defending: i almost wanna say coulter but lol no it's lyra and also pan

a character I just can’t sympathize with: asriel? like i get his motivations a bit but also he could've been like... nice to lyra sometimes... maybe not murdered her best friend who was there for her when her dad wasn’t :')

a character I grew to love: ooh idk i loved everyone i still love from their first moments really, which was helped by the amount of fanvids i watched beforehand? maybe for the sake of it, lee definitely went from "i love him" too "I WOULD DIE FOR HIM" bc i think that’s rly how his character traits reveal themselves as time goes on

my anti otp: nothing comes to mind! however i very much hope i don’t have to witness will and lyra have s*x in season 3! that is not my cup of tea!

Sanctuary

my favorite female character: helen!

my favorite male character: henry ;u;

my favorite book/season/etc: idk i love the homey feel of season 1 but i also loved how they expanded out so much in s2?? s3 was good but kinda... long... and heavy in some stuff i wasn’t into... and s4 was also good but the money conflict was a bit of a drag. so i guess season 2 but it could go literally any way. s2′s theme song is rly what’s putting it in first place rn.

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): REQUIEM with monsoon and normandy following behind

my favorite cast member: amanda probs, though i don't know a ton about the others

my favorite ship: helen/sally, though i rly don't ship much in sanctuary hardcore to be honest

a character I’d die defending: abby h8ers meet me behind a fucking denny's

a character I just can’t sympathize with: FUCKING WILL

a character I grew to love: abby! also i def appreciated nikola more at the end than i did at the beginning

my anti otp: i don't wanna say teslennnnnnn but like.................... it's not a fave and it's also inescapable and while i love that people are so passionate about it i've developed a lil bit of resentment toward the assumption that i must ship it bc i like sanctuary so obviously it's my otp. some elements of it were kinda triggering in the beginning, and while that's eased to mild discomfort at most i'm still unsure if i'll ever rly be into it. other than all that, helen/john is something i could definitely do with less of. like i can see the argument for teslen, whereas with helen i just want her to have some time without john fucking up her life. oh also helen/will. i definitely understand why people ship all of these things but... i hate helen/will. tl;dr in order of most bearable to least - teslen, helen/john, helen/will. forgive me fandom uwu
