The way a lot of the writing in Moominvalley (2019) is handled makes me so angry bruh.

#You have SUCH a big franchise on your hands #You have some incredibly talented animators #You have several decades of plot points and characterisation to build off #Why did they take so little care with it? #They genuinely need a writers room so badly because so many episodes are ooc badly paced or filled with plot holes or all #I would pay MONEY to see their process #Like did they even do the basic things of setting up each characters motivation start point and end point at the end of each episode #It feels like they're stringing together bits of a plot and dramatic or emotional moments regardless of whether or not they're in character #Or make sense #And it's frustrating because it's a series that deserves a lot of respect and care #And I passionately feel that children's media should be treated respectfully #It feels like they went oh if we put in a few good moments and it's pretty then ofc people will watch it its the MOOMINS (famous) and the- #-audience is mostly children (stupid) #And idk man it's really dissapointing #Some episodes eg the groke one #PRETTY WELL WRITTEN and make sense #Not perfect (the tie in with snufkin a voice over was non sensical and badbadly executed) #But like that was an enjoyable coherent arc! #Same with snufkin and the park keeper #But some of them make no sense and it feels likr watching a rough first draft #And it sucks! Because the potential is so clear but it's wasted so often! #Anyway I'm being brave and maintagging #Moominvalley

Idk this is just a stupid post that I thought might help when thinking about what storylines could be done in future seasons.
