As much as I enjoyed Matt and Jen hooking up, I’m also sad.

With all of the dating shenanigans, mishaps, and L’s Jen has been dealt this past season, Matt is the exact guy she’s been looking for this entire time.

He likes and respects She-Hulk, but is incredibly into Jen for who she is. He’s smart, thoughtful, funny, charming, and HOT.

He’s the first person to get through to her about how it doesn’t have to be either or and that both parts of her has value. And while she likes She-Hulk just fine, she recoiled so much away from that side because ppl stopped valuing Jen. However, Matt clearly sees Jen and thinks she’s badass too. Because he sees her and is able to explain how both sides can work together, Jen doesn’t fight him on it. All she’s ever wanted is for Jen to be validated.

And perhaps I’ll need to rewatch the series once it’s all out, but I find it fascinating that Jen constantly transforms back to her Jen form rather than stay She-Hulk around Matt. I honestly believe it’s because she feels comfortable around him.

When she figures out his identity, she instantly becomes Jen. As they’re talking on the roof, just Jen. After the fight, she’s Jen again. When they go to their place to have sexy times, she’s Jen.

The doctor was only interested in She-Hulk, josh pretended to be interested in only Jen, where as Matt accepted and liked her for who she was and everything that entailed. For Jen, that translated to “just” being Jen, which is a sign that she’s okay feeling vulnerable and exposed around him in her human form. Ep 7 confirmed that sometimes she’s She-Hulk as a defense mechanism. Then she’s forced to be She-Hulk when meeting clients and in the courtroom.

Jen and Matt naturally play so well off of each other, but I also like how they were kinda shy and flustered as well.

I think Jen wasn’t sad because she knew they can’t go anywhere romantically. She has her life in LA and he has his in NY. But there’s nothing wrong with hooking up with a hot guy who’s genuinely into you and is smart, funny, and smooth.
