Level-5's Mixed Media Project Megaton Musashi Gets TV Anime on October 1

    Level-5 announced today that a TV anime series from its mixed-media project Megaton Musashi is set to premiere on TOKYO MX and BS Fuji on October 1, 2021. As the company's fifth mixed media project, it was revealed in July 2016 and its video game for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 has also been in the eworks.

  Shigeharu Takahashi, who worked on the four Yo-kai Watch films from 2014 to 2019, is attached to direct the TV anime at OLM. Akihiro Hino, President and Representative Director of Level-5, will serve as the series composer. 

    Synopsis:

  In an ordinary town, there are people who live a peaceful and fulfilling life. But they don't know that it is a false peace. The untold truth... The earth has already been destroyed... 99.9% of the human race has been wiped out by a mysterious alien force from outer space. The enemy is named "Dracters." Eventually, a large hole was drilled in the earth and terraformed into a suitable environment for the aliens to live. Humans have no choice but to hide in shelters to escape their eyes. Waiting for the day of resurrection, which they do not know when it will come... The inhabitants of the shelter Ixia have had their memories of the day of destruction erased, and live a normal life without knowing anything about it. However, some of them, the "chosen ones," have become pilots, driving giant robots called "Rogue" and fighting against aliens. Today, another new pilot is selected...

Women's atomweight has turned into a super fun division globally and Seika Izawa (10-0) has a claim to being the top 105er on the planet right now. The RIZIN atomweight champ kind of just showed up on the scene in 2020 and started beating up on competition. She won the DEEP Jewels belt in like her 2nd pro fight and then went on to beat Ayaka Hamasaki in her 4th and 5th bouts to win the RIZIN title outright. Then she won the RIZIN atomweight grand prix to defend that spot. Point being, she is on a run right now.

Izawa will face off with Claire Lopez (8-4), herself coming off a submission win over RENA, in a title defense this early Sunday (July 30) morning at SUPER RIZIN 2.

Seika Izawa (6-0) was one of the most unheralded breakout fighters of 2021. Not only did she win the DEEP Jewels title and defeated Ayaka Hamasaki twice to capture the RIZIN atomweight title, establishing herself as one of the top atomweights on the planet.

Now RIZIN has put together a big women’s atomweight grand prix for 2022 and we should all be excited! The quarterfinals will start this Sunday (July 31) at RIZIN 37, and Seika will be facing off with Laura Fontoura (7-0). The RIZIN atomweight grand prix continues!

Seika Izawa (7-0) is a breakout star at atomweight, capturing both the Jewels and RIZIN titles. For those that don’t know, Izawa placed 2nd in her weight class at the All Japan Sumo wrestling championships. She placed 3rd at the 2012 Japanese National Junior High School Wrestling tournament (which if you know anything about Japanese women’s wrestling, is a big accomplishment).

Ayaka Hamasaki is a former RIZIN, Jewels, and Invicta FC champion. And at 40 years old, she is still out here putting on quality performances.

Izawa will face off with Ukrainian Anastasiya Svetkivska (2-1). Hamasaki will face off with Si Woo Park. Both fights happen this Sunday (Sept. 25) at RIZIN 38.

Seika Izawa (8-0) was the breakout star of 2021 in JMMA. Won the DEEP Jewels interim strawweight title, won a bunch of grappling exhibitions against vets of the JMMA circuit, and beat the reigning RIZIN super atomweight champion. Izawa would win the belt outright earlier this year in April from Ayaka Hamasaki. Since then, she’s won her two fights in the RIZIN 2022 atomweight grand prix to make it to the finals. Her finals match up will be a rematch from her DEEP Jewels days as she faces Si Woo Park (9-4) in the main event of RIZIN 40 this Saturday (Dec. 31).

Some Bellator x RIZIN 2/ Super Rizin 2 updates

Kyoji Horiguchi’s return to flyweight and entire Bellator run is cursed. Dude accidentally poked Makoto Shinryu in the eye 25 seconds into their fight and the fight got waved off. No inaugural Bellator FLW champ.

Both Pitbull bros were in action. One, Patricky, faced the rizin LW champ Roberto Satoshi and washed him with a leg kick. He advances in the Bellator LW Grand Prix. The other, Patricio Pitbull, took a last minute fight with former RIZIN featherweight title challenger Chihiro Suzuki and got KOed inside a minute. Huge upset as Suzuki did not give the Bellator FW champ any respect. He got after him with shots and landed a few stiff ones that sent Patricio down.

Magomed Magomedov submitted Danny Sabatello, hopefully meaning I never have to hear Sabatello’s name again.

The rizin featherweight title went home with Vugar Karamov as he subbed Mikuru Asakura via RNC in the first round.

Juan Archuleta won the RIZIN Bantamweight title in a fight against Hiromasa Ougikubo.

Seika Izawa defended her atomweight title with a ninja choke finish of Claire Lopez

Shinobu Ota and Igor Tanabe picked up 1st round stoppage wins as well.

It has been an incredibly year for Korean fighter Si Woo Park (9-4). Starting with her win over RENA from the last RIZIN NYE event in 2021, she has been on a tear. She’s got 4 wins in the span of a year. That includes wins over RENA, Kanna Asakura, and Ayaka Hamasaki. It has landed her in the finals of the 2022 RIZIN Super Atomweight Grand Prix. Her finals opponent will be familiar to her as it will be a rematch against Seika Izawa (8-0), the last woman to beat her.

The finals between Park and Izawa will be on the RIZIN 40 portion of the RIZIN vs Bellator NYE card this Saturday (Dec. 31).
