R sounded a little eager. Probably cause she knows her way around the place already. Could be they already knew where the sanctuary is and wanted to ease the itch of curiosity by a tad. R wasn't going to be a pain in the ass however. First impressions are everything.

“Who? R?” Some question the kid had to ask, Melantha mused. “I’m sure they’re fine.”

She wanted to, but if they were trouble, she was sure nobody would rely on them. Hell, someone probably would’ve crushed them like any other Monokuma. It’s only logical. Besides, she didn’t want to be paranoid like Haiji. He rambled on about all children being evil and that they couldn’t be trusted and they should all die, but look at Tenshi and Haruka.
