VENEER TECH+ MOD

So.... I'm sure y'all know by now...

I hit 20 members on Patreon a couple weeks ago, and to celebrate it, I released a content dump. It had really small CC in there, but one of the things included was a career mod I had made. Because that was the thing I spent the most time on, I posted about it on Twitter, and it did a lot better than I thought it would.

Now there's like 230 more of you and it's kind of one of my staple mods. 😭

I seriously want to thank y'all for all the love and support you've given me over these past few weeks. This still feels so surreal and I'm not fully able to articulate how I feel, but I appreciate you all so, so much.

After getting some ideas, I decided to expand the mod even further. Now, along with the career, you get 2 traits, corresponding pie menus, a rabbithole interaction, and a second version of the career with altered wages. Enjoy!

When I first made the mod, I forgot that the Simoleons per hour were... well, hourly. I don't know why, like if I was tired or something, but that lead to the top level in the career giving sims $60,000 a day, which means $420,000 a WEEK... and since there's usually 4 weeks in an in-game calendar year that means $1,680,000 a YEAR...

I know veneer techs get a lot of money, but at some point this gets absurd. 😭

So I altered the hourly wages a bit. They're still wayyy more than average sims get for their jobs, but not like $21,000,000~ every human year.

Level 1 -> $250 (from $500)

Level 2 -> $500 (from $1,000)

Level 3 -> $1,000 (from $5,000)

Level 4 -> $5,000 (from $20,000)

Celebrity Scammer Branch -> $10,000 / M-F (from $50,000 / M-SN)

Seminar Leader Branch -> $7,500 (from $25,000)

If you still want the higher wages, they're still available with the original mod! <3 This is just for people who want a little more of a challenge. (emphasis on little, lol)

Be careful, though, newfound fame brings newfound opposition. And with your multiple medical and ethical violations it won't take much to get unplugged.

After all of the hours of hard scamming you put in, you've done it. You've got the fame, the fortune, the mid-tier rapper/influencer connections, and about 21 different YouTube videos about your crimes.

The only thing to do now is sit back, count up, and not get indicted.

Let's talk about entitlement

A couple of weeks ago I discovered that a voice actor from my country, an incredibly popular figure that is known for voicing super big roles such as Superman, Samurai Jack, Optimus Prime, Coop from Megas XLR (my favorite dub from the dude btw, he absolutely kills it!), and also acting as the voice for many popular actors such as Jim Carrey, was cast to play the role of Future Devil in the Brazillian dub of Chainsaw Man.

Now... I myself have not watched anything dubbed in my home country in eons, in fact, the Puss in Boots 2 movie was the first time in a while where I saw any form of media dubbed with Brazillian voice actors, if only because I wanted to see this thing as soon as possible so I just rushed to the nearest cinema I could find, and sadly Brazillian cinema doesn't show animated movies in their original dub...

So anyway, I wasn't exactly going "OMG!! Superman is gonna voice the "the future rules!" guy!!!" or anything like that. I was mostly just going "Oh, neat!", but after watching Puss I was kinda curious to find out how the whole Brazilian Future Devil thing went and... Ugh...

Apparently, the voice actor got a lot of hate on Twitter because they didn't adapt the line from the manga in the same way it was done by the fan translations... I repeat, people got angry at the actor because the line was different from the FAN TRANSLATIONS! And he received so much backlash from the watchers that he decided to drop out of the show and thus won't be returning for a future season.

Cool...

So... Let's talk about entitlement a little bit

Let's just assume for a moment that there is a girl you really, really like (I'm using "girl" but just replace it with whatever works for you), but she couldn't care less about you, so you try to make yourself look better, more desirable, more "worthy" of her by, let's say... Having a very well-paid job, or being someone who donates a lot to charity, or paying for the surgery of her grandma, or finding the cure for cancer, or ending world hunger... Let's just assume you did everything you could to be considered the most perfect person ever...

You're still not entitled to that girl's affection, appreciation, or even attention if she doesn't want to give you that.

Entitlement is the mentality of "I earned this, so I deserved it!"

But the fact of the matter is, unless you're paying someone for a job, and they agree to it, nobody really owes you anything.

(Although I guess one could argue that you're also owed your parents' support in order to survive since they're the reason you're here at all but... I'm not sure I have enough knowledge to talk about this so casually.)

But long story short, entitlement is this idea that you should have things done in the way you want them to be, just because you convinced yourself that this is how it should be.

I mentioned before in my Makima post that I really don't like this mentality because it works to make people think they have power over something they have nothing to do with.

This happens a lot with fanbases. Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, Chainsaw Man, Star wars... There are so many pieces of media where the public will go "this isn't how I wanted" or even worse "this isn't how it is supposed to go!" as if they were the creators or something.

They use arguments like "I complain because I care!" but in reality, it isn't about caring. This isn't about displaying your love for an IP you care about, it's about you not being able to handle a reality different from what you wanted.

It's basically the premise of the movie "Misery" where this one fan wants to act like she knows the story better than the actual author.

Now... Thinking that you deserve something even though there is nothing that says you technically do aside from your own belief is already bad enough, but it gets even worse when people use it as an excuse to act violently.

Harassing a voice actor and making him give up on his job just because a line was changed is just beyond silly. It's not the fans' duty to tell how a story should be told, same way it isn't right for fans to harass an actor just because they played an unpopular character in a live-action performance like it Happened with Rose in Star Wars, or telling someone they should kill themselves just because they made a joke about an infamous ship in Chainsawman.

It's even weirder in Chainsawman's case because part 2 literally starts with someone getting so much harassment by their classmates that it makes her want to die, which just makes me wonder if people are even trying to pick the messages of the story they are consuming.

Bottom line, entitlement is ugly. It is in my opinion THE ugliest mindset anyone could have.

It makes people perform actions out of selfishness, arrogance, anger, and it only works to spread pain and misery. It makes you look at other people as objects that only exist to satisfy your desires and makes you forget they have feelings and that they can get hurt, all because they happen to want to do something you disagree with.

If someone writes a story in a way you don't like it, you're not entitled to attack that writer. If someone performs the role of a character in a way you don't like it, you're not entitled to attack that actor. And if someone has an opinion about a piece of media that you disagree with, you're not entitled to attack that commenter.

You NEVER have a reason to attack anyone. Trying to put others down just to make yourself look big, ironically, doesn't make you look big! It just makes it look like you don't have enough faith in what you stand for and are too afraid that someone might prove you wrong.

Entitlement and aggressiveness are huge symbols of insecurity, cowardice, and immaturity, because people who truly believe in what they believe in, don't resort to harassment so fast just because a different point of view showed up.

We only attack when we feel threatened, when we feel someone is trying to hurt us or trying to take something important from us.

Attacking should only be reserved for self-defense, or the defense of someone who can't defend themselves (and even then I feel like there is a whole other grey area of debate on how to know who needs and should be defended and from whom, which I really don't feel I have the skills or maturity to properly talk about myself).

A random line on a fan translation of a popular manga that got changed when the official dub came out... Is just not a good enough reason to feel threatened, and not a good enough reason to attack someone, even if it's just an online attack.

We all know the line, "If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything!"

Unless someone is asking for your opinion, unless someone is paying you to speak and make a criticism or provide some sort of honest feedback, or unless you're being harassed first, you are NEVER entitled to use your words or body to try to harm someone!

You are free to live your life in any possible way you want, as long as no one is getting hurt from it.

At least in my opinion...

I am not a psychologist, or psychiatrist, or a psychic, or any form of expert in the field of the human mind.

These are just my casual thoughts about a... Not so casual topic, but I feel it's important to be talked about nonetheless because I feel not many people seem to realize how big of a problem entitlement really is, and how it seems to be getting worse as the years go by as the media and internet keeps making us feel like we have more power over other people's lives than we actually have.

Just... Try to think twice before you get that sudden urge to want to complain about the way something is or how someone is acting just because you don't agree with it. Think a little about who might be getting hurt from it and if it's truly worth it getting so upset about it.

I have caught up now and I am so utterly disappointed and disgusted by her right now. Like I've had to take the whole day to process this (which is good because this ask only came in over an hour ago (well to my notifications, Tumblr can be dodgy so you may have sent it earlier) so one good thing came out of it).

I think the original ask asked how I felt about everything that has come out about her? And well, in short, I now very much want them to make Sylvie fuck off because as much as Sylvie the character deserves more, k*ra does not and I honestly don't know how I'm gonna look at her face.

I honestly truly thought whatever the thing was it would be something minor, like something that's icky but something I can live with (just that I'd loose respect for the actress) but I was really unprepared for this-- just seeing her views in those posts it just made me extremely sick. I mean I'd say I'm surprised, but while I'm shocked purely because I thought the actress was adorable and sweet (and therefore in my mind I immediately just think that obvs they're a decent human being), I can't really say I'm surprised because a white woman being like this? In some ways I'm always sorta waiting for that shoe to drop.

It's made me very conflicted too, because while I adore Sylvie and can tend to still like characters when their actors are problematic, there's usually a line and k*ra has crossed every single one. And I don't know where that leaves me with Sylvie, because rooting for her character makes me feel very dirty because rooting for her is rooting for a disgusting hateful person to succeed. And while I think I'll be able to appreciate Sylvie's character in fanfic after a while, I don't know how I'm going to cope with watching her. I just feel so dirty for liking and supporting her actress for this long, like it goes against all my morals and I didn't know yeah but it still so icky and how can such a horrible person play someone who to me is one of the most kind hearted and open and accepting people???

Sylvie is a character who I feel brings genuine heart to CF and makes everything feel more homely but oh my god if I'm not now wishing that they'd get rid of her.

So how I feel about this? Disgusted, disappointed, conflicted and wishing that k*ra would just fuck off from the show because she doesn't deserve to be employed, especially not billed so high up, and also amazed at how the rest of the cast (especially certain members) can stand being around her (and also kinda more understanding of the Joe drama about two casey starring cf ships)

Thank you for asking, and helping to bring this to my attention because I really do feel utterly horrified that I liked this actress. I'm going to have to think about if I now care about Sylvie's storyline from here on out or if it just really no longer is possible.

Unpopular Opinion: I think the whole tagging users is complete and total bull. And the fact that you can work so hard on making a gifset and spend so much time trying to make it perfect just to post it and have it do terribly because you didn't tag the right ''users'' like wtf is that? Why is tagging the tv show/movie with the word edit attached to it not good enough anymore? It's all just a bunch of bull. Unless you've already got a following, there's no way to get a following. you went off and you are so right. i think it's really hard to get things to get notes or even noticed on the dash and tags. everyone really only looks at their tag and since you are limited on tags, a successful post will make at most 200+ notes... anything above that is rare or has to be a set posted RIGHT after an ep just aired. when back then a low quality set would get like 10k. it kinda upsetting. i just got back to making content a year ago, and i had to get used to everything that changed. some people are pretentious and don't follow back, others don't reblog anything unless you tag them on things. so yes, it's hard to really get any attention. also i think people are very in their own world, so it's hard to get close to others now bc everyone has their friends and unless you're in the same fandoms or friend circles as them, no one really interacts apart from that... and also tumblr doesn't necessarily give a great platform for it, the IMs are a nightmare. as for the likes and reblog ratio, don't get me started. there's nothing more upsetting as a creator than working so hard to make content for it to get 5 reblogs and 80 likes. i think people forget tumblr is different than instagram, tiktok, and twitter. everyone is so used to just liking things they forget that that's not going help spread the post. we need to get back to reblogging things, rather than just liking it. it really doesn't take much to reblog a post. and if we are going there, leave a positive note on the tags every once in a while??? it doesn't hurt anyone to be nice. especially on those beautiful creative edits someone took their time to make for others to enjoy. people deserve to know that what they made is appreciated and is beautiful, because it always is. you never know how moving it can be for someone to see those positive tags. in conclusion, support content creators bc this website would be nothing without them.

A RECAP

Howdy?

I know it's been a very long time since the last time I wrote on this platform. I am recently not really into any social media apps actively. Preferably I might say I am a passive one. I read twitter a lot, but I tweet less. I check my instagram updates, yet I don't post any feeds for years. I have deactivated my facebook account for 6 years, however for once in a while I did reactivate it to retrieve a few information. And tumblr, the one and only my long lost dear friend in these various options of social media that keeps me coming back. I still scroll into my tumblr pages to read some writings from someone I know to some strangers I adore. I sometimes dig my own posts on tumblr to take trips down to memory lane to absorb the warm feeling they radiate.

Referring to the title, I'll make a recap or a few notes on several major events or important decisions in my life, haha. (just as I have written before, I am taking notes here for some nostalgic and sentimental reasons in the future). Here they go:

- Child. My life has been extremely changing since my son was born. mostly in many good ways. He is nearly three years old in the next few days and I can't thank God enough for blessing me a chance to be a mother of an amazing son. Alhamdulillaah. There was a time I regretted things I've done and I've not done to him. Perhaps I will write about this later. Along the way, aside from all my flaws, I am still figuring out to be the best for him.

- Pandemic. this pandemic has been making us dreadfully exhausted and sick. I don't have much to say anymore (I belong the believers). Thank my employer for allowing me working from home most of the time while many of my friends are not having this privilege. However, still this uncertainty time gets my anxiety stronger sometimes, but I just keep in mind that I should more focus on my own family and a very few certain close friends. Life is already hard, this pandemic make it harder. Do not invest your time in unnecessary things (e.g preaching about pandemic to those who belittle it.. such a waste of time), withdraw yourself form toxic environment/people, make boundaries from those who don't deserve us, and vice versa, give effort to those who appreciate our presence and value.

- Passion and work life. Practically two years ago, I was transferred to the job I work today. Even though it was in term of promotion, I perceived this as being rejected or if I have to harshly say, being "dumped", haha, younger me was being too emotional. The jobdesc is far form my competences and passion. Working in govt sector (in our country to be precise) requires us to be adaptive they say. You have to be ready to be located in any places with different or wide range of jobdesc they say. Thus, I've been learning from scratch in this field and been reshaping my own passion and upgrading my skills to fit in. And here I am today... still look clumsy and pathetic doing my own job, haha.. but small progress matters doesn't it. Some days I feel demotivated and confused but the other days I just eat it up and keep doing. It takes me almost two years to understand the silver lining and to make an important view on career things. I also have created my personal perspective on working life from what I've been experiencing and observing, that you do not have to be that connected to colleagues. Colleagues stay colleagues. So if you have to cut a line, it will be much easier.

- On Investing. Thank my husband for being very aware of investment since years ago. I learn from him a lot. We are still gradually developing our own portfolios from every coin we earn (this is not necessarily about investing in stock, not at all. We do diversification when investing, from stock, government bonds, peer to peer lending, to gold. We can choose instrument of investments that suit us well). I know we as govt workers are already secured by monthly payment, health insurance (bpjs), and pension fee. I am not gonna say that the salaries are not enough. They are enough to finance our decent life month by month. But, quoted from what my husband said (cieee...) "when doing my job, I want to contribute to the result with maximum effort, without thinking about the money I will get". So yes, the investment it is. We expect to have passive income that will leave us without worrying about debt or mortgage from month to month. However, it is still also long way to go, but hopefully we are walking toward it.

I am quite surprised that I am this open to put what I have on my mind lately. Keep being healthy everyone!

So, a lot of her fans are arrogant and constantly saying terrible things about Madison, wishing her death, hoping Kevin will cheat on her with Sophie, calling her a puke, even downplaying her bulimia and almost death experience. They're also going as far as saying mean things about Caitlin herself and basically spamming and bullying their way with the show's and cast's social media so they will like their tweets about Kophie. There is this group of friends on twitter and they're completely obnoxious, they tweet mean things all the time and now whenever someone posts anything they're always like "WHERE IS SOPHIE?".

Alexandra has given me the impression she's not that better than those fans either, because the other day Justin asked people what they thought of Kevin and Madison on instagram and she commented something completely changing the subject to Sophie and ignoring Madison/Caitlin. On her current TV show, Virgin River, there is a love triangle among Mel (her character), Jack and Charmaine and she was joking that she hoped Charmaine would move away with her and Jack's children. Now I don't know if you're familiar with that show and honestly I don't even bother to watch it anymore, but the whole story is that Jack had a casual relationship with Charmaine for a while (I think it was two years?), but she developed feelings for Jack and he didn't reciprocate them, but kept sleeping with her knowing she hoped that would eventually change. And during this entire time he was hanging out with Mel, but he didn't make a move on her, he would flirt with Mel and then go to Charmaine for sex and she ended up getting pregnant. When she found out she sort of freaked out and was worried and considered leaving the town and raising the baby by herself. She ended up changing her mind on season 2, and the writers tried to make her a villain in order to be an obstacle to Mel and Jack, they changed a lot of things about her personality and behavior, but even so I don't think she was as bad as the writers and fans make it seem. A lot of her behavior was justified because Jack is just the epitome of a mediocre man at best, he has been all about Mel since day one but he would still go to Charmaine, he says he loves his children (it turned out to be twins) and he barely shows any excitement about them, he even tries to play cop and go talk to drug dealers etc and risk his own life when he has two children in the way... ANYWAY, you get the point. A lot of Charmaine's attitude could be explained by her awkward situation, loneliness, hormones and everything she is dealing with and handling all of it and her high-risk pregnancy basically all by herself. It's just that the writers wanted to bring some female rivalry in order prop a basic man, but it doesn't take a genius to see what they did and know how unfair that was and that both characters and Lauren (the actress that plays Charmaine) deserved more. 

So Alexandra joking about her leaving the town with the twins and completely ignoring and failing to show some respect and support to her fellow actresses and their characters, considering she spent a lot of time with Lauren and knows Caitlin in person, is just... Disappointing. And she's even talked about how Jack and Mel get married and have children in the books that the show is based on, she knows her character is the protagonist, Mel and Jack are the main couple on the show, that she is safe and her character's story and her romance with Jack are guaranteed, it wouldn't have hurt to try to show some support for an actress that was clearly done dirt by the writers. Specially because they're also actresses and she's been in a similar position before, I've never watched The Walking Dead, but from what I've known she played a temporary love interest for the protagonist, even though the main relationship of the show was the guy and another woman’s. So she knows how it feels like to be in the 'middle' of the main couple or to play a new love interest in the middle of a show's run, when the audience is divided part of it is already attached to previous relationships and not willing to give a new actress/character/romance a chance and you have to work hard to convince them and have them warm up to your and your story... I was expecting her to show more empathy towards them. 

And now she is constantly posting fanmade content regarding Kevin and Sophie, the new season of Virgin River was released NOT EVEN A MONTH ago, the show has been renewed, she was or is still filming its third season, I checked and most of the recent stuff she's tagged on are about Mel, Mel and Jack and VIRGIN RIVER as a whole and she is specifically looking for and posting about Kevin and Sophie. AND NOW, of all moments. She could've done it on season 4, when Kevin was single, she actually got to show up and Sophie was mentioned a few times. Why is she doing it NOW, when the show she currently stars on has a new season, is renewed, being filmed and generally thriving? And This Is Us is in a totally different place, with Kevin being engaged to Madison, Caitlin being promoted to series regular after committing to it for four years and the two characters about to become parents of twins? And she knows they won't end up together, so why is focusing on Kophie and not Virgin River all of a sudden? And she is THE PROTAGONIST there and she knows Mel and Jack are ENDGAME. It just comes across as greedy, calculated and insensitive and like she’s not content with what she already has. 

And Caitlin is so laid-back, she barely posts anything, she rarely gives interviews, she only talks and posts about Madison when she actually is involved in the story, she is working crazy hours as much as the rest of the cast in the middle of a PANDEMIC and when she has a baby that is not even one yet (btw, Caitlin and Mandy deserve some serious applause for balancing all of it with motherhood and pregnancy)... She deserves more respect from people, specially from someone that can relate to her as an actress, woman, mother etc. It's also not even a situation where she misses the cast, because she could've shown it by commenting on different pictures and wishing them well, she didn't have to specifically comment on something about Kevin and Madison's relationship and ignoring Madison/Caitlin and trying to change the subject to herself, she could've said something like "I have a soft spot for Kophie, but these two look cute and I'm excited to see more of you and Cait!", there are a lot of ways she could've handled the situation better while still being sensitive and acknowledging Caitlin's importance. It isn't even like she was reminiscing about her old characters and TV shows either, because she is only posting about This Is Us.

Anyway, I'm not saying they have a feud or Alexandra is the worst person in the planet or anything, but lately she is coming off as opportunist and selfish to me. It just seems that she fails to understand the fact she's not part of something anymore and have some humility and show appreciation for someone other than herself. AND SHE IS CURRENTLY STARRING A SHOW THAT'S BEEN THRIVING AND RENEWED!!!!!!!!!! So actions like these just give the impression that one show where she is the star and her happy ending is basically guaranteed is just not enough for her, that she wants everything and can’t even respect other people’s places. And that absolutely doesn't sit right with me.
