Here's the quickest rundown I can give

So uh in Children Of Legend, I basically played "how self-indulgent of an au can I make" and it worked.

Basically certain humans are marked as "Children Of Legend" meaning a Legendary or in some cases, Mythical Pokémon has sorta adopted the person, giving them special abilities (and in some cases, immortality.)

Our thee main characters (OCs)

Vincent - Born in Unova, raised in Paldea, Child of Hoopa, known for his bright spirit and sharp wits, horrid self-worth issues

Kai - ohhhh boy so we took a white haired twink and threw them into the ancient past. Guess what happened. (They tried to make a friend and got LITERALLY backstabbed), Child of Arceus (hates that fact), known for their constant distrust of others, hates the dark

Lyla - Born and raised in Galar, became Champion, Child of Giratina, known for her stubbornness and lighthearted attitude, too stubborn for her own good

Some honorable mentions of certain driving forces in this AU

Volo (THE WHOLE REASON THIS AU EXISTS) - Child of Arceus (his ass doesn't know that until the second arc(?)), fucking despises Kai for stopping him

Leon and Hop - Children of Eternatus, both support Lyla without any hesitation, Hop goes to Paldea at some point

Arven - WHERE DO I FUCKING START WITH HIM, He's the whole reason the events kick off in current day, he knows what the Children Of Legend are...

Sonia thought it was an interesting topic to study, and decided she'd join you with your studies

One time, you both stayed up all night researching the Hisuian Pokèmon counterparts to today's Pokèmon counterparts

It may have messed up both of your sleep schedules, but you two didn't mind as it helped you two bond

Sonia was really proud of you for your research as you were making great progress, you even got to do a speech about it somewhere in Wyndon!

Once you were done your speech, Sonia came up and hugged you tight

"I'm so proud of you Y/N!" She says before giving you a quick kiss on the cheek

You two also show affection to eachother in the lab by the way. Like you could be comparing counterparts and Sonia would hug you from behind

[ her having anything to do with Elm anfdsg ofc it’s not an headcanon I want to force on anyone, but I really like to believe that she’s his niece -- and even when I play her without taking that in consideration, I really love thinking that she ended up becoming his assistant, and maybe becoming Johto’s future Pokèmon Professor.

i think it’s because of the recurring trope of your friendly rival being or becoming the prof’ assistant we’ve got siiiince. I think gen 4? The other MC in DPPT, Bianca in BW2, Hop in SWSH... but also because I really got attached to the idea of having more Pokèmon trainers that don’t really focus on battling but rather prefer to help out newcomers and researchers like the GO gang. idk it’s cute...... ]

Houndoom care tips? I had a pet houndour up until recently. Some kids broke into my backyard and pokènapped my houndour. Orginally he didn't have a Pokèball since he was given to me as a very young puppy by a family friend who breeds houndoom and trains them to be guard Pokèmon, he's a very good guy and follows a lot of breeding regulations, my pup, Tiberius, Tibby for short, was the runt of an accidental litter, anyways about two months ago some local kids hopped the fence in my backyard and caught Tibby in a Pokèball and ran. It was caught on the security camera I have out there. When I got home from work that day and Tibby didn't greet me at the door I knew something was wrong so I checked the footage and called the police. It took a while to track the kids down. We also found Tibby's collar in a bush. They forced Tibby to evolve, thankfully Tibby has a big reddish orange patch of fur around his right eye that makes him stand out. I'm pressing charges against those two kids for stealing my Pokèmon.

That sounds very emotionally taxing to go through, anon

Houndoom really don’t have very different needs from Houndour. They need more food and exercise because they’re bigger, and you should file their horns every week or so to avoid them growing too big.

I’d also recommend buying some teeth cleaning pet treats, Houndoom have notoriously bad breath.

Many years ago, long before people and Pokèmon were living in peace. An order was formed to protect the fragile bond between Pokèmon and people.

This was the Order of Jirachi an order that vowed to protect the pokèmon world no matter the cost. As time went and many orders were made to protect their precious regions.

But these orders soon died out, became less important as cities and towns were built. Only for them to become a mere tale of the past.

Now in the future Serena Devenau must unite the order once again and travel across the world in a race against time to find out the mystery’s that surrounds these orders and save the Pokèmon world from the biggest threat yet.

Question: I always see you defending Pokémon SwSh's story, but I never saw your take on it. Could you tell me why you think the story is fine as it is?

for the same reason i defend a lot of other “mixed criticism” games like FFXV, Crash Twinsanity and, to a lesser extend, Rayman Origins: because the problem isn’t in the plot itself, but in the fact that publishing houses rush out games.

i think that the main proof SwSh plot is very good is specifically in how they handled Hop. He’s easily my favorite friendly rival, and i think that his character arc is very well written. everytime i feel bad i defeat my friendly rival in a battle, but this time it’s important for his growth!!! like. can we talk about how he’s canonically ignored by his family (except Leon) and that his entire character is about learning to be his own person and be comfortable with being himself, rather than being Leon 2.0?

sidenote hate ppl who are like “the mc in swsh are the real villain because we destroy hop’s dream uwu” fellas hop becoming the champion would’ve been the WORST case scenario for him!!!!!!! god.

THE CHARACTERS IN GENERAL ARE FANTASTIC!!! with very few exceptions (like Marnie and Bede, who i love dearly but i feel didn’t have enough space to shine, or prof.Magnolia and Raihan that instead i think didn’t have much character at all tbh) all the characters are REALLY good and well developed. i like how in so little time we know a lot about the Gym Leaders, Rose, Leon, SONIA MY LOVE... and while i didn’t finish the crown tundra DLC they did a GREAT job with them too!! Mustard is easily one of my absolutely favorite characters in the entire game, i love this old man AND SAME GOES FOR ROSE! I love myself a morally grey antagonist tbh. i like how for once he isn’t super evil, he just... wants the best for Galar, and thinks of the future. I’m genuinely sad we didn’t see more interactions between him, Oleana and Leon, because from the little we saw there’s SO MUCH potential!!

i also adore how this is the FIRST game that really made me want to become a champion. for the other games it’s there for the sake of it, and ngl i really don’t like how SuMo added a league at the end because kukui is a kanto simp, considering how much it went out of its way to be something different from all the other main games. but in this one, it feels appropriate? i feel like recognition, fame and legacy are the main motives of SwSh - something that the rivals and the MC especially really show it!! - and battling in Gyms, as easy as it usually was, really made me feel a hype i couldn’t feel in any other game.

unfortunately, the big issue of SwSh is that... it was unfinished and rushed. there’s no denying that, if  they focused a little more on the plot, it would’ve been WAY better - but i think that people shit on it too much. of course we love and adore pokèmon, but we have to remember that we can’t play it and expect a oscar bait plot. with the exception of maybe gen 4 and 5, all the other pokèmon plot weren’t exactly super developed either tbh?? even something i ADORE as much as gen 7 and 2 had its problems (i think the ending of SuMo was a little rushed, and the ONLY good parts in UsUm were post-game; and we can’t really say that gen 2′s plot of the Giovanni simps was that complicated either!!!!) i think it delivered MUCH better than XY, that i personally consider for the most a confusing mess, or god forbid LGPE’s attempts at making gen 1 less boring :/

[ honestly... that was the last of his problems while in his journey! There was a little bit of homesickness, sure, but he always loved travelling and discovering something new! ]

 [ by shrugging it off, accepting defeat and move on, either for training more or focusing on something else.

If a battle isn’t a matter or life and death, it’s okay to lose! You might even learn something from it! ]

 [ the friendly rival who gives you full restores and healing before battling and helps you much more than battling you. Yknow. the Hau/Hop/Shauna! ]

8. How does your character handle training a struggling Pokémon?

[ how else? With kindness and patience, giving the Pokèmon all the time and love it needs! ]

11. How does your character feel about the consumption of Pokémon (e.g. Smoke-Poke Tail)?

[ well... Spark sure love some good ol’ Milktank burger and Torchic nuggets every now and then, so of course he’s not against it. However, he’s careful to pick places where he knows Pokèmon are treated well before being used for meals, both when he goes to eat out and buys groceries! ]
