#Please don’t tag V*ripunzel!!

Varian week day one: Freckled siblings
Tumblr media
Saw some people were doing a Varian week? Didn’t even know about it ‘til day two so I’m playing catch up (working on day three atm) but I wanted to join in— hence why this is a little rushed (and has horribly off centre writing!)

PLEASE tell me your love edit isn't actually v*ripunzel?? you now thats an adult with a minor right???
Look, Nonnie? Nonnie. Can I all you Nonnie? I'm going to call you Nonnie. I can't pretend to be invested in your little fandom war. I'm an adult with a full time job + chronic health issues who does fandom shit for fun. I don't get any vindication from bullying strangers over the internet, whether for good reasons or not. For stuff I can't stand, I take responsibility for curating my own experience online by blocking tags/people I don't like.
Here's a handy dandy guide for how to even do it by user on Ao3 using a site skin! I trust Nonnie that you've been around the block enough to know that Ao3 already has a built-in function in their search engine to exclude tags. I do these things because I know no amount of arguing with someone online will ever likely hold them accountable. They'll just move spaces, move blogs, move fandoms until they carve out space where they won't be harassed. I almost certainly don't ship whatever problematic thing you're so worried about. The post was tagged appropriately, though I suppose that wasn't enough for you, eh Nonnie? Hence why you're here, in my inbox instead of spending your finite minutes on this earth doing something good for the environment. I know that adultxminor ships are a pervasive problem in the TTS fandom. I also know from experience that there is very little you can do to stop someone from making content you don't like, and that obscurity as a creative is absolutely crushing unless they have an inflated ego.
A lot of anti rhetoric feels like repackaged purity culture, something I've spent many years unwinding within myself after growing up in the church (which I have since left). I can't stand the overuse of certain popular and unsavoury buzzwords/accusations that get thrown at fandom creators. I've seen too many people be bullied out of fandoms who absolutely do not deserve the rabid haters who land on their doorstep. So. Until someone crosses a line, usually in how they treat other human beings, then I won't be around for the drama if I can so help it. Oh! And if anyone is wondering how I got so salty so quickly here: you haven't been in the TTS fandom very long.
