The fucking Tumblr app is being a bitch today. I wrote a lengthy post that got deleted because Tumblr can't get its act together.
Anyway, here goes again.
Today was a good day because I popped two cherries. First one was driving in Billy areas. I took a longer and tougher road to the destination because my navigator missed a turn (I should have learned this by now, but I can't drive and navigate at the same time.) Still, the longer route was good practice, because as full of twists and turns it was, it gave me good feel of the vehicle on hill roads and the quick turns and the close pass bys of other vehicles. The car performed well, better than I was expecting for an automatic car to.
Never once did I feel like I was pushing the car to do something that it didn't want to do. The parking was a bitch to handle, but that got done too. Visited all the usual places such as the church, the mall road, an old timer coffee shop, and one shop from about twelve years ago that's still there. So, driving in the hills was cherry #1
Cherry #2 was getting a challan on my way back. Multiple factors combined to put yours truly in the wrong place at the wrong time and I jumped a red light following a huge truck that also jumped the light. The cops stopped both of us as well as a small truck behind me. All because that light point is faulty as fuck.
No way can three vehicles jump a light in a row. Anyways the other two paid up and I didn't feel like talking to a cop cuz I was tired and a bit off after all the driving. This red lights fiasco happened in the last 5% of the total drive. So, I chatted with the cop a little, he took my license and told me many vehicles jump the light at that point. He asked me if I'd like to pay up something on the side and he'd let the challan go because he didn't have the instant challan gadget with him (wtf is that device called?).
I told him that it's okay, he can give me a paper challan. Which he did after about five minutes of dilly dally. Fuck paying cops. There were times when I'd get slightly nervous around cops, but I was calm today and it didn't feel like it used to. God knows I've jumped enough red lights back in the day.
Now I have two options, I can either go to the RTA office next Friday, pay 500₹ or wait for a month and talk to the judge and pay 100₹ to get my license back. I want to talk to the judge but that is a day long process and no one's got time for that. So, I'll go there sometime next week and get my license back.
Another problem is that the office opens from 9-12 which does not fall in with my schedule. It's gonna be a doozy. But I'm not worried. I'll get the license back.
Got back home, ordered some delicious chicken biryani from a local place, had a glass of peach wine (delicious) and well, now writing this account.
Today was a fantastic day in all. I can't wait to go back to the hills again.

Mask Mandatory in Private Cars
The Delhi High Court ruled on Wednesday that a vehicle is a public space and that masks must be worn even inside a four-wheeler. "Mask is a suraksha kavach against virus spread," the court said and those who have been vaccinated must wear masks, according to the HC. The assertion was made as the HC heard petitions questioning the enforcement of traffic challans on citizens who did not wear masks while driving alone in their own vehicles.
It also stated that many specialists, physicians, and researchers had emphasised the importance of wearing masks right at the start of the pandemic. Even if an individual has been vaccinated, it is recommended that they wear masks.
Petitioners sought Rs. ten lakhs in damages for mental abuse.
The Centre claimed during a press conference that there was no need to wear masks when alone in private vehicles, according to petitioners who approached the court. One of the petitioners has requested a refund of Rs. 500, which he paid after being cited for not wearing a mask, as well as Rs. 10 lakhs in damages for alleged mental abuse.
The Centre said that it had not issued any recommendations on the use of masks in personal vehicles. The Ministry of Health claimed that health is a "state matter," and that the Delhi government has the authority to set such guidelines. The Delhi government argued that a DDMA order was issued in April 2020, requiring the use of masks when driving private cars.
People should wear masks, says Delhi's health minister.
In light of the resurgence of the pandemic, Delhi Health Minister Satendra Jain has advised people to wear masks. He went on to say that a night curfew had been enforced in the capital to prevent parties and gatherings.
He promised that there will be no issues with the issuance of e-passes. He said that 33 hospitals had begun 24-hour vaccinations and demanded that the Centre allow people of all ages to be vaccinated.
Wrapping Up
So, be a responsible citizen, wear a mask and pay your traffic challan on time, or you may face legal consequences, including the suspension of your driving licence. You can cover yourself when driving by buying insurance for your car or motorcycle, just like the traffic cops issue fines to ensure drivers follow the rules of the road.
For example, insurance from Finserv MARKETS protects you from impending disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters, as well as fraud and riots, to name a few. Aside from that, repair and maintenance of your vehicle is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at over 4000 garages across India, ensuring that you have access to emergency assistance wherever you go.

How does one register a vehicle in a different state?
Shifting to a different state seems both exhilarating and worrisome. A new career and location shift are all on your wish list. However, it would help if you also managed all the hassles of moving, such as complying with all applicable procedures like registering your automobile in a new state. If you're adjusting to a different state, here are some procedures you can take to register your vehicle.
Request for a NOC- The first stage in registering your vehicle in a different state is to visit your previous state and obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local police, RTO, or other appropriate authorities. The certification states that the registration authorities have no objections to the vehicle receiving a new registration marking. Moreover, you also need a police report indicating that no auto theft charges have been reported or are ongoing. It must ensure that no money owed to the car, such as the government's vehicle tax, is payable. You should also have a bank NOC if you purchased your automobile or via a Bank Hypothecation.
Collect all of Your Documents: After receiving the NOC, you'll need to gather additional paperwork to guarantee a proper registration of your automobile in a different state. The authentic documentation for the vehicle is as follows:
Smart card
Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate
RC
Address and ID proof,
Insurance Papers
Invoice
Fill out the Essential Forms and Submit the Documents-You need to fill out several important forms for registering your vehicle in another state. Each of these forms will require its charges to be paid. It would be best if you focused on the State Crime Record Bureau report and CVM forms, namely, Form 27, Form 28, and Form 33. Once you have all the documents and these filled forms, you must submit them.
Re-registration in a Different State-Your NOC will get a validity date that depends on the state you're relocating to. Therefore, you will have to re-register in the new state within the same time frame. You must deposit the necessary road tax (which varies by state) and request registration. Ask For a Temporary Registration. You can ask either for a provisional registration or new license plates for your vehicle. The new license plates will be sent to you if you register temporarily.
Physical assessment-Somebody from the RTO department will personally examine and certify the vehicle. Indeed, they will not be accessible most of the time, but you will have to pay a ransom or hire a broker to speed up the procedure.
Obtain the Certificate of Registration-Following the verification completion; you can verify the day you will be able to pick up your RC for the new state.
Wait till the Procedure Completes-Your previous RC is erased. Therefore, you can only have some challans and paperwork to show local officers that proves the initiation of the re-registration procedures. Transferring your registration to another state is a complex process that may take months or even years. However, you will be eligible to drive your vehicle in the new state.
Request a Refund from the RTO in your Home State(MP RTO) -You must return to your home state RTO (MP RTO) following re-registration and request a proportional reimbursement of the lifetime tax paid.
What Happens If You Don't Use RC Transfer When Driving a Vehicle?
You cannot neglect RC transfer as you can't operate a vehicle on the street without a valid driver's license. This law applies if you cross state lines to make a substantial move to a new city. If you operate your vehicle for more than a year without having your RC transferred, the traffic officer can: - Detain your vehicle for a certain period. - Charge fines and penalties according to the rules. As a result, receiving the RC transfer is crucial.

Tests for driving are likely to get stricter in India. All you need to know
Having a driving licence is a mandatory requirement to drive a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler on Indian roads according to the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2019. If you are found driving without one, it might attract a traffic challan from enforcement authorities and even imprisonment in some cases.
However, if you have recently purchased a new car or are planning to buy one, you will need to subsequently apply for a permanent driving licence. Brace yourself, because the road ahead just got a bit tougher. A new rule announced by the Minister for Road Transport, Highways, and MSME in the parliament is all set to make the upcoming driving licence tests more stringent.
What you need to know
Some of the updated measures to be followed at all regional transport offices when you apply for a driving licence will be as follows:
Higher passing percentage: You need to score a minimum of 69% or above in the objective test that aims to assess your knowledge of traffic regulations when you apply for the learner’s licence. Earlier those who secured 60% or above in this test qualified to apply for a permanent driver’s licence. The increase in passing percentage makes the preliminary computerized test for obtaining a learning licence tougher.
Skillful driving: If the vehicle for which you are applying for a licence, has a reverse gear, you will be asked to reverse it back into a restricted space either to the left or right when you appear for the driving test to obtain your permanent driving licence. This is to test your sense of control and accuracy while driving so that you can avoid being served a traffic challan for not parking your vehicle properly on the road or any other violations.
Computerized monitoring: You will be provided a link to the demo driving skill test when you book an appointment for a permanent license at the nearest RTO. This will help you to be better prepared for the upcoming test. LED screens will be installed in all automated driving test tracks to view test demonstrations. Apart from this, you can also witness the driving licence test live at the test tracks before your turn for the same.
All these guidelines have been brought forth in line with the rules and regulations laid out in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1989. Alongside, several driving licence services such as vehicle registration, renewal, etc have been made available online for the convenience of applicants.
Once you obtain your driving licence, you should also buy an insurance policy at the earliest, if you do not want to pay a fine or traffic challan for driving without one.
