Looking For Projects To Fund In Namibia To Make Your Dreams Come True
Namibia has a significant urban population, with 70 percent of them living in the north. Northern-central and northern-eastern regions like Oshakati are experiencing an extensive urbanisation trend. Additionally that the majority of Namibia's young population is located in northern regions. As such, the country is in need of investments to meet the needs of the younger generation and the growing urban middle class. Investment opportunities Namibia is a great country to invest if you're trying to make money or establish a business presence. As one of Africa's most tiniest nations, Namibia has a small population, but a rapidly growing urban middle class. Companies can use their strengths to profit from Namibia's growing economy since there is no large government. Namibia is abundant in natural resources and has a low tax rate. business investors in south africa has a strong infrastructure that can attract foreign investment. The country is going through an ambitious plan of infrastructure development. Investment opportunities in Namibia may take the form of public-private partnerships or equity holdings. Some of the current key areas of interest are power generation as well as transmission, logistics and water infrastructure. Opportunities exist in the construction and maintenance of road and rail infrastructure and also in affordable housing. When you decide to invest in Namibia ensure that you select a reliable bank. The government is looking for partners to help realise its ambitious plans. The country is rich in natural resources that could maximize investors' returns. Large Chinese companies have invested in the mining industry, as have South African businesses in the banking and diamond industries. Russia and Spain have made significant investments in the fishing industry. Other countries have expressed an interest for exploration of Namibia's oil waters. Opportunities for FDI include manufacturing, logistics, and mining. The FDI market in Namibia is a great place to start in order to maximize your investment. Challenges In Namibia the startup ecosystem hasn't been able to match entrepreneurs with the appropriate investors. Entrepreneurs tend to seek out bad investors who will cause more harm than good. A good investor will offer time, access and funds to start-ups. New investors may not have access to the proper connections and lack of information about market conditions. This is why Namibian investors need to be very careful when considering projects to finance. While the investment environment in Namibia has improved in recent years, there are significant obstacles. Namibia has a weak domestic market, limited skilled labor pool, and high transportation costs. Despite these difficulties the country is expanding its vaccination program which is expected reduce production bottlenecks and open the tourism sector. The government has emphasized the attraction of foreign investment, tackling unemployment and diversifying its economy. There are many opportunities for FDI in Namibia. Namibia is home to many large Chinese companies, which have significant investments in the uranium industry. Canada and South Africa are also significant investors in Namibia with significant holdings in mining and banking. The Office of the President is working to develop renewable energy sources. Other sectors that are highly sought-after include tourism and mining, which are the mainstay of the nation's economy. The general trend is for commodity prices to rise over the next years, which will let more companies to access private equity. Government support The Namibian government has acknowledged the bureaucratic procedures that could hinder businesses' ability to do business, and is currently working to address these issues. The Investment Promotion Act is currently being evaluated. This new legislation will likely replace the old Foreign Investment Act. While this new law is designed to attract foreign investment, those looking to fund projects in Namibia must be aware of its intricacies. For instance the business owner might not be able to obtain information on a particular project, for instance, the financial situation of the owner. The Registrar of Companies is responsible for managing companies and regulating the formation of businesses in Namibia. Although registration is required, investors are encouraged to seek assistance from the Namibia Investment Centre. The Namibia Investment Centre offers services for investors, starting with the initial inquiry phase and the end of operations. It also provides information on incentives, projects, as well as procedures. The investment center streamlines procedures and collaborates with regulatory and government agencies. This allows investors to concentrate on projects that will be beneficial to the country. While Namibia's private sector is heavily dependent upon bank financing however, the banking sector is quite weak when it comes to financing new businesses. A majority of commercial banks in Namibia adhere to the standard lending practices which require businesses starting out to pledge collateral for a loan. Unsecured lending is not permitted and bank loans are often risky. A lack of government support is available to investors who want to finance projects in Namibia. Financial institutions You're not the only person looking for an excellent project in Namibia. The Namibian Government and several financial institutions are looking to boost economic development and private sector development. A recent stakeholder forum convened by the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) revealed that the country needs more than grant funds. Public-private financing is crucial to boost productivity, modernize customs and offer access to information for free. Alongside other issues, the panel concluded that transparency and good corporate governance are imperative. There are many types of investors in Namibia. Public funders include the Development Bank of Namibia and Start-Up Namibia, which is an innovative initiative to boost the start-up industry in Namibia. These funders are more eclectic, and may focus on grants or concessionary loans as opposed to equity investments. These funders could be the right fit for you if have a significant social impact and are in the early stages of your business. It is important to keep in mind that government funding can restrict the manner in which companies operate. While Namibia does not have any privatization plans, discussions have been initiated on privatizing state-owned enterprises. The Government Institutions Pension Fund, for instance, has committed 350 million dollars to private equity funds since the year 2010 and has been given the mandate to finance infrastructure small and medium-sized businesses development, as well as bulk municipal services. Recently, the government announced plans to sell a portion of its stake in Air Namibia, the state-owned airline. The proceeds of the sale will go towards reducing government debt. Taxes While Namibia does not have an exclusive tax system for foreigners, Namibia has a number of tax-friendly features that could be of interest to investors. For one, foreign corporations cannot avoid paying dividend taxes in Namibia, which is a tax of ten percent on dividends from Namibian sources. There is no tax on securities in Namibia. However, investors should be aware that certain capital gains can be taxed as normal income. Third, Namibia is a member of the Common Monetary Area and its dollar is pegged against the South African rand. In addition, certain sectors require a certain percentage of local ownership for projects they finance. In addition, Namibia's fiscal environment is relatively stable and transparent. Namibia is a member of the Common Monetary Area (a group of southern African nations). According to World Bank Development Indicators, Namibia's foreign currency remittances have consistently been less than one-fifth of its GDP over the last decade. Most Namibian remittances are processed by commercial banks. The BON has not changed investment remittance policies over the past few years. Economic empowerment
Tumblr media
This article can assist investors in their search for projects to finance in Namibia. The government of Namibia owns an array of businesses. These companies are known as parastatals. They account for more than 40% of GDP. They are generally unprofitable, however, they are subsidized by the government. Foreign investors are part of joint ventures, however this has hampered their growth. The government is generally transparent in its public policy. It releases its annual budget, its mid-term reviews and consults interested parties in making its budget. It also releases the government's debt position as well as contingent. The framework for its fiscal policy is generally free of corruption. And the Namibian government does not impose forced localization requirements. The policies of the government encourage local content and foster local ownership for state-owned businesses. The government of the country is working to expand its financial market and also attract foreign capital. The SDG Investment Fair brings together investors from various sectors to invest in sustainable development projects for developing nations. Namibia is represented by its Hydrogen Commissioner and Economic Advisor to the President. Both are part of the Common Monetary Area (CMA). This agreement permits capital flow between the two countries. Investors from all over the world can attend the event and examine the country's current investment opportunities. Water sector The Namibian water sector has received about 25% of the budget for the nation. To achieve this the Government of Namibia has set up a Namibia Water Sector Support Program to attract foreign investors. The goal of the program is to develop infrastructure related to water and provide potable water to the country. At present, the government is trying to find international investors to the program including private sector firms. The government has received a grant from the African Development Bank Group. There are many opportunities to invest in Namibia's Water sector. EOS Capital is one such firm. It recently announced that it has completed its first funding round of the Euphrates Agri Fund, raising 90 million Namibian dollars. The fund's initial investment was in Cherry Irrigation Namibia. The company plans on investing in the country's water infrastructure and in the agriculture sector. There is a huge market for green bonds in Namibia, which can provide an alternative to traditional bank lending. AFD has launched the Namibian green financing label that encourages local commercial banks to expand their green lending practices. The Bank Windhoek is currently working to build a pipeline of green financing projects and is looking into a second issue. A Green Bond works in a similar way to a non-convertible debenture, however, the major difference is that these bonds are not secured by physical assets, but are backed by reputation of the issuer and document in an indenture.

Marco Mpollo VTC
Marco Mpollo is a private vocational training centre that was established in Oshakati, way back in 2003 as only a hospitality school by then. It has then grown into a big local VTC with currently two branches in operation, one branch in Ogongo Omusati region and the other in Opoto, Ongwediva in Oshana region. The co-founder and Managing Director is Mrs Natalia David, a strong Namibian woman who found it fit to construct and lay a strong foundation for the Namibian youth to be trained in different vocational trades.
