I wrote this in April 25. This is a poem that's exclusive to my Root Beer patron and that turn on the following epithaphs from The Salt Eaters by Toni Cade Bambara:

""Old Wife, what are you but a haint ?" "I'm a servant of the Lord, begging you pardon."

"The dream is real, my friends. The failure to make it work is the unreality."

I wrote (or daydreamed) the interrupted movements of busy Black people, the sneaking out to nowhere, the prayers before...something.
