Today is the 17th day of January welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is wonderful to be here with you today as we…well…we are through the center of the month but we reach out and twist the knob and throw open the door and here's a brand-new week for us waiting for us. And I love that imagery, like I love thinking about this every beginning of a new week because it's like nothing's happened yet. We haven't screwed anything up yet. We haven’t made any wrong decisions yet. Like, everything is out in front of us and we can choose to apply what we've been learning for these last couple weeks, that there is the voice of wisdom and she is calling to us and she is pointing the way if we’ll slow down and pay attention to the fact that every choice that we make leads somewhere and does something. So, when we start to build our lives on wisdom by making small but wise choices systematically over time, we are moving on the path of wisdom toward becoming wise. And, so, let's do that this week, let's live into it. It's not something's that’s happening to us. It's something we are happening to. We don’t have to live reacting to everything that comes our way. We can decide in advance what the posture of our heart is going to be no matter what comes our way. So, welcome to a brand-new week. Of course, we’re just going to pick up where we left off yesterday as we continue our journey. This week we’ll read from the New International Version. And today Genesis chapters 35 and 36.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for what is being spoken over us as we begin this brand-new week from the book of Psalms and from the book of Proverbs, practical straight up clarity. Who gets to be in…who gets to be in Your presence? The one whose walk is blameless who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart, who’s tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor and casts no slur on others, who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps an oath even when it hurts and does not change their mind, who lends money to the poor without interest, who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. In other words, who doesn't take advantage of the vulnerable. Thank You for that clarity. Thank You that we can revisit this and overlay our lives and allow Your Holy Spirit to reveal avenues of growth for us. We thank You for what is spoken in the Proverbs today, a plea to not let wisdom and understanding leave our site. Don’t let them out of our…like…like a little child we would not let our little child out of our site. We have to hold onto wisdom and understanding in the same way and preserve sound judgment and be discreet because that will bring life to us. You're giving us clarity. If we will believe this then these are the things to pursue because these are the things that lead to life. According to the Scriptures they are an ornament to grace our neck. We’ll go on our way in safety and our foot won't stumble if we won't let wisdom and understanding out of our site. When we lie down, we won't be afraid. Our sleep will be sweet. We won't fear sudden disaster. We won't fear the ruin that overtakes the wicked because we will know that You are at our side and You will keep our foot from being snared if we won't let wisdom and understanding out of our site. Help us to not let wisdom and understanding out of our site, so that we might be blameless before You. And we realize this is a gift. We realize we can't earn this, but we also realize that we have to participate. We have to participate in being transformed and our participation is to surrender to Your will and Your ways and walk the path. And You’re showing us the path that leads to life. May we walk it. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

I also wanted to call for a young lady who called about her college, her last semester and how she wanted to get through the Bible in a year. We’ll be praying for you. I have experienced a lot of anxiety this past year and I would just ask that you could pray for me this year 2021 to get through it with faith in Jesus Christ as God’s son that I would just really get through this year. Last year was difficult I know for all of us. My life was definitely a lot better than other people experienced for 2020 but I know it could have been better. Thank you, so much.

Hi DAB family it’s His River and Rain here calling from the UK. I just wanted to say a happy new year to you. It is currently the 12th of 0January but I just want to say a big happy new year. I hope it’s treating you well. But recently God has…God has been on the move, He’s been moving, not in a way that we expected. But one of my friends from church her sister have recently collapsed. She collapsed on Sunday. And, so, from Sunday until now she’s been in a coma and the doctors are very…quite pessimistic about it saying that she might not survive. But from…with her family and the churches that, you know, her family is a part of the Lord we’ve all just been praying. We’ve been praying so hard praying on worship and…and having different prayer meetings. I mean even though we can’t gather, you know, this is a crazy thing, you know, but even though we can’t…we cannot gather we’ve been having so many zoom meetings to just pray together. And the doctors, as I said, the doctors said she might not survive or she might not recover and be, you know, severe brain damage but God has just been sending so many miracles and what we’ve prayed for has just come to pass. You know, she’s moved her hand and she has taken a few breaths and then we’ve heard a couple of hours later that now she’s extending her arms and extending her legs and trying to cough. So, I just wanted to just ask for more prayer, more prayer for her, full recovery because we know God can do it. And I just want, you know DAB, my DAB warrior prayer warriors just to be part of this and to pray alongside us all because I know that you guys are good.

Good morning DABbers this is God’s Little Princess in East Texas. My name is Nikki but my first name is Deanna that means God’s little princess. I’m a few months new to being a DABber. I’ve encouraged…I’ve been encouraged by it tremendously. I’ve encouraged two friends to join me and they have. Another friend is the one who got me listening to DAB. My husband David is 61 and he’s in the hospital with Covid. Up and down every day. Different news all the time. I’m finally after 10 days and our second hospital understanding in this crisis what “be still” means. Please pray for mine…from my husband’s mind, my three children, they’re grown, my three grown…grandchildren, for our emotions to run to God. It’s one night good, one morning bad or vice versa. Hello, my dear Daily Audio Bible family this is Maria Missionary in Mexico. I’m calling today with a heavy heart for my friend Glesel. Glesel and her husband Jonathan they are our personal friends, and we all attend church together here and I’m their daughters, their two daughters Sunday school teacher. They got the news this year that they’re going to have another baby, actually last year. And they were…they were so excited to find that out and then they got the really hard news that the baby is a large growth on its neck back and head. It’s been a really hard year for the Glesel. Her grandfather then man who raised her died. Other family member or two I don’t remember had surgeries. It’s been really difficult. And now there’s this and it just feels very heavy and difficult. I told her about the Daily Audio Bible and that we could pray for her if she wanted me to. So, she said, “yes. Please.” You know, she said it would be fine to post this prayer request. Well, I’m gonna pray for our friends our…our brother and sister and I asked that you pray along with me family. Padre Celestia, we just want to come before You today thank You for Jonathan and Glesel and their daughters. Thank You for this new baby that You’re forming in her womb. This this is Candace from Oregon. I want to speak to people who lost loved ones unexpectedly. It’s been almost 4 years as many of you will remember when I lost my husband very unexpectedly. It was March 11, 2017. This community came around me in…in an incredibly loving way and held me up during that time for which I am deeply grateful. So, I want to speak to everyone who’s mourning. I know that for me it was like having half my body blown off. I had had a relationship with this man that I loved so dearly and who loved me for 41 years. WWE Raw Review for 12/17/18

Not too many more Good, Bad, and WTF segments left in its rookie year but we’re gonna go ahead and channel our inner Obama/Vincent Kennedy McMahon and talk about change this week. Did Vinny Mac shake things up or piss in the fans’ collective faces with hollow fan service? Let’s find out nowish!

The Good: I’m sure you all figured I’d start with the state of the tag division and The Revival and you were right. This is a start. What concerns me is Vince is very reactionary when it comes to crowd pops. The right team won this #1 contender fatal four way but the crowd didn’t go nuts when they won and they did seem to love the Lucha spots in the match. Don’t listen to them, Vinny. They’re idiots. I like crazy high flying spots from insane athletes too and maybe The Revival’s serious heel schtick won’t work as well on Raw as it did in NXT but you should find out for sure. These guys can go, they have an awesome finisher, and they can cut a better promo than any other team in the company except maybe Adam Cole and the Undisputed Era. Whether this is a few week program or they take the belts off Power and Glorious right away is a matter of opinion. But Shatter Machines for e’erybody.

Bane Ambrose’s promo and subsequent open challenge met by Tyler Breeze. This was a necessary follow up to an underwhelming match at TLC that wasn’t met well by internet snobs like me. Dean’s in ring work isn’t the best right now but he’s making up for it by really embracing this heel character. Breeze is a talent with a stupid gimmick but he looked good despite the obvious loss coming his way. Rollins using the old “disguised as security” trick to get the drop on Ambrose is unoriginal but effective. I dig it.

Finn Balor vs Ziggler. This was the match I was looking forward to but sadly was cut short and we were robbed of a clean ending thanks to the only member of 3MB who hasn’t held a main roster title. This makes sense but I really wanted a better end for a good match.

The Bad: The hour long Women’s Gauntlet for a shot at Rousey’s Title. I have deeply mixed feelings about all of this. It wasn’t awful. Some of it was really entertaining and some not so much. But when the McMahons come out and say “change is coming and we want our fans to be excited” and serve them up an entire slogged hour of a gauntlet match where 3/4 the participants aren’t over, it creates skepticism. The crowd was dead throughout the vast majority of this. Bayley shines here selling a knee injury and still gutting out a couple wins, and Moon continues to improve. Also, has their ever been one of these women’s gauntlet type matches where Banks wasn’t last in? Is she being protected? Is the Legit Boss sleeping with The Boss? Natty was an obvious choice given her relationship with Ronda, but they had a golden opportunity to turn her instead of the lame hug/respect angle to close the show. Yes we’ve seen lots of Big Showesque heel turns lately but this one made sense and would have ended the show on a really high note and amped me for next week. Or even have Ronda turn and really shock me. Show me change!

The opening segment. It’s ironic how much live crowds love Vince despite knowing he’s the direct reason the show sucks when it does. I’ll start by saying this whole act went on far too long. Everybody got an entrance. That’s about 8 minutes alone. Then the hollow promises of change. Now I understand Rome wasn’t built in a day but don’t tell us we’re getting fresh matchups and what we want and then immediately serve us a damn near exact repeat of last night’s TLC match with Corbin and Braun with Angle instead. Rollins and Ambrose. Still going. Lashley and Elias. Still going. McIntyre/Balor/Ziggler. Still. Effing. Going. It’s not that the ship can’t be righted, it’s that it feels deeply unlikely that it will be. The truth is, it will probably be better because the ratings are actually in the shitter and they do have to do something. But radical change is not something a global company like this does well. We’re still gonna get stupid convoluted Saudi Super shows that derail storylines because money and they’re still going to push who they want when they want and bury who they want when they want. We, as fans, have an impact, but not a say. Don’t insult us.

The WTF: Money Scented Chris Masters and Elias. What a monumentally bad feud this is when Elias isn’t allowed to do the talking. Sadly, I don’t think it’s over. So much more of Lashley’s Ass being narrated by Flavor Flav to come. This is not change.

Promos for returning and called up stars. Love Owens and Zayn and glad they’ll be back. Not together please. It’s time for Owens to take back his rightful place on the card and ditch the bestie act. Zayn is a hell of a performer. He can find a niche without relying on KO. As for the NXT call ups, I’m conflicted. Evans should go to Raw. They desperately need a good female heel to fill the void left by Alexa Bliss and they appear to refuse to push Ruby Riott. EC3 has the look and the gimmick but his success will heavily depend on who they book him against to start. Feels like a Raw guy as well. Heavy Machinery is fun both on the mic and in the ring, maybe I’m biased but I would have preferred the Street Profits. They can job and still be fun. No need for them to be in the title picture. I’m not sure Heavy Machinery has that ability. Nevertheless, please go to Smackdown so we can see someone else feud with rotating three team Axis of Doom. Nikki Cross will only fit in with Sanity but that only works if they’re a faction and they’re actually on TV, which they aren’t. So Smackdown I guess but it probably won’t matter. Sad. And finally, of course, the next guy to get rammed down our throats, The Dude with “Lars” on his ass. I was sure he would debut to destroy Corbin last night. I was wrong. I guess it makes more sense for him to go to SD Live but who do you book him against? Is he a heel? Guess we’ll find out in the coming weeks.

Preview for next week. Lashley and Elias in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. No. Corbin and Rollins. Saw it last week. Natty and Ronda. Stop hugging and fight. Ziggler/McIntyre/Balor. This is change?

They say they recognize that change is needed and Corbin isn’t calling the shots. That’s a start. Scapegoating Baron is a shitty move but if he remains on the roster, he certainly has heat. So that’s a win, no? No Bliss on this show was an odd choice. The Christmas Eve show is already looking suspect. Change takes time, but I’m not seeing an overwhelming commitment yet. They get one Hogan Belt Whip for The Revival and half a Hogan Belt Whip for not letting Banks win the gauntlet. See you guys next week for Krampusnaucht!

Arguably one of a fashion human’s least dispensable beauty basics is her concealer —that stick, pot, or tube of miracles that allows you to camouflage dark sleepless circles and cover redness and irritation in a way that doesn’t crease or flake, stays all day, and kind of just looks like your actual human skin on your clearest, best-rested day.

To find out which concealers the most ambitious women in fashion swear by, we reached out to eight people—from Elle.com’s style director to the director of global buying for Net-a-Porter—and had them reveal their holy-grail products. Keep scrolling to see what concealers they swear by.

Elle.com’s Style Director Nikki Ogunnaike swears by this iconic liquid concealer. “This concealer is THE TRUTH especially when it’s layered over some color corrector,” she tells us. “I don’t have terrible dark circles, but they exist, so this is one product that I use every day. Easy to swipe on, I apply and dab in with my fingers if I’m on the train or in the back of cab (don’t judge) or at home with a beauty blender if I’ve taken the time to actually do my makeup in the morning. It never creases and provides day-long coverage. It’s been my go-to for years!" Musier Paris’s founder and creative director AnneLaure Mais Moreau is also a big fan of Nars’s Creamy Concealer—but this little pot from Glossier is her pick on days when she doesn’t need quite as much coverage. The creamy formula leaves a "very natural” finish, she says. Brother Vellies Creative Director Aurora James has a very specific two-step concealing routine: It starts with Clary Collections's All-Purpose Balm ($17) as a base, followed by Dior Undercover in shade 041. “The balm helps things stay intact and looking fresh,” she says. “I’m obsessed with this Dior concealer—much needed under-eye help for those mornings after you’ve watched the sunrise.” Harper’s Bazaar Senior Fashion Editor Chrissy Rutherford’s favorite concealer is by KKW, which she wears in shades 13 and 14. “The color match is impressive, and the coverage is perfect whether I’m using it under my eyes or covering up a stubborn zit,” she says. “My go-to concealer for serious coverage (meaning some hormonal acne has reared its ugly head) is Kat Von D’s Tattoo Lock-it Concealer,” says Coveteur’s editor Hannah Baxter. “It’s highly pigmented abd glides on easily but dries down to an even coat of color. I apply it to the back of my hand first and dab my beauty blender before tapping it into my skin. A little goes a long way!” The ultimate no-makeup makeup advocate, fashion business mogul Sarah Rutson actually uses this classic foundation as concealer. "The less physical makeup I can put on my skin the better,” she says.I am lucky I don’t suffer from dark circles under the eyes, and even when I do, the worst thing for me would be to use cover-up as it gets into the little lines I have and makes me feel ‘caked,’ which I hate.“ According to Rutson, "Perfection is never the beauty goal.” She finds that a light layer of Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk is “enough to cover any redness without an extra layer of cover-up,” especially when combined with her Biologique Recherche skincare products.
