Devil's Path
Devil's Path
Every good hook-up in the woods should start with a tarot card reading, or at least that’s what Bil, Daniel and Michael decided when they reunited to talk about Devil’s Path, which returns them to the universe of the great Matthew Montgomery.   Listen here: https://badgaymovies.files.wordpress.com/2023/09/episode-176-devils-path.mp3   Donate Email:…

I had a dream about a beach where people had dumped bright blue dye into the water to make it look more glamorous. I was heartbroken because it made the water smell like chemicals. I missed the imperfect but beautiful water that was pale blue mixed with a light translucent dirt. I walked down as far as I could to try and find more water like that.
Lately I like always wearing my St. Louis City baseball cap, and always listening to Three Imaginary Boys by the Cure. I like always having coffee with me, though I have to watch it so I don’t get too jittery. I like my book, which is The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon.
Last weekend I went to the Soulard farmers market with Myranda. We took Ubers around town and I had her try the fish tacos at Mission Taco. She said the ones at Bronco are better, and I totally agree. We also went to the Royale and had hummus and roasted nuts.
I think “Good Times Roll” by the Cars is such a sexy song and I keep hearing it everywhere.
Tonight I’m going to my first therapy session in three weeks, then going to the mall with my sister.
I miss traveling. I’ve been thinking about how much I like driving on the highway that looks endlessly the same, with trees on both sides and tacky but somehow beautiful billboards and gas stations lit up at night. I think about the way coffee tastes when it’s 2am and you’re tired but so excited to be at your destination soon. And the way music sounds when you’re listening to it in the car in the dark while driving out in the middle of nowhere and you feel more alone with it than you usually do.

Press Release:
A group of European art students and their professor travel through the U.S where they will attend a very special symposium that takes place once a year in the middle of the Texas desert. They stop by Marfa and experience the work of Donald Judd and various celebrated master pieces of Minimal Art. They also witness the impact of Minimalism related tourism on that small town. Some of the students start having nightmares, others notice weird things happening around the Art Foundations in Marfa. They hear rumors about strange disappearances occurring every year during the symposium. Indeed, upon arriving on its remote location in the desert, they find out one student is missing. Then begins a series of phenomenons such as the dislocation of time, body changes, zombification, more nightmares and multiple deaths, all happening amidst the presentations and talks of Michael Smith, Heyd Fontenot, Martha Wilson, Peter Friel, Ramaya Tegegne, and the birthday celebration of professor Lili Reynaud-Dewar’s mother, Mireille Rias …
Beyond the Land of Minimal Possessions is a horror comedy on the complex and intricate topics of art, gentrification and emancipation.
