Swaran Salaria: A Political Biography
Swaran S. Salaran, winner of the “Rashtriya Ekta Award” of 2002 have had an exemplary trail of work which still is in continuation.
His contributions in the society unfolded a phenomenon which transpired to be a model for his contemporaries. Swaran Salaria was the ex-youngest director of world association of detectives (U.S.A. of India) and the ex-chairman of the state commission of protection of child right, the government of Punjab. Apart from the various accolades he has received, his presence itself has been a gift, for his social works had a deeply embedded impact on the society. When Gujarat saw the destructive forces of an earthquake, arrangements were made by him to initiate evacuations and supply medicines to the people affected for 45 days. His affiliations to moderate the mid-day meal schemes in schools during his time as an executive member of the SSRRC committee of Hare Krishna Temple (Juhu) had helped many children.
Being an altruistic person that he is, he has carried Yog Shiver campaign in Pathankot, under Yog Guru Swami Ramdevji, where he provided basic needs to men, women,and children for six days. All of these expenses are willfully carried by him and the same has been extended to ventures that included donations. He provided donations to the Mini Bright Future Mentally Challenged School, Goasainpur and further extended such donations for the provisions of a school hostel. He has made a considerable amount of donation to institutes that helped many helpless children, some of the institutes where his donations went are M.C Asha Kiran School for Differently Abled Children, Usha Mata Minar Public School, SMSO Rajput Sr. Secondary School. His involvement in uplifting the youth had also seen to have its manifestation in the donations given to Maharana Pratap Youth Club, Behrampur.
Apart from his inclinations towards philanthropy, his political positions at BJP also saw consolidations since he had been in a number of exceptional positions over the year. He had been the national executive twice, Co-convener of the national industry and trade cell, permanent invitee as a Punjab state executive member, chairman of the state election campaign during Lok Sabha and a member of the delegation of national BJP president Nitin Gadkari.
Since he also hails from a business background, he has been the chairman and the managing director for many companies such as Chintpurni Medical College & Hospital in district of Pathankot (Punjab), Trig Guardforce limited, Trig securities and detectives Pvt Ltd, Salaria industries ltd, Slim SammAirways Pvt. Ltd., the white hotels and Proclean hospitality Pvt Ltd.
