Kyuss by Kozik, it hardly gets more "stoner" than that ;) This one pretty much was the first artsy gigposter I've ever come across, in a 90s Visions Magazine. While I was living in the depths of rural Germany this may not be the biggest surprise, but I was always fascinated with how much detail a person would put into just one concert advertisement!

Es ist 1999. Kyuss haben sich offiziell vor 4 Jahren aufgelöst als Josh Homme und Nick Oliveri mit Queens of the Stone Age gerade mit Ihrem Debüt durchstarteten. Auch andere aus dem Schoss des Sky Valley legten kräftig nach. Brant Bjork veröffentlichte Jalamanta und mit Fu Manchu deren zweite Platte Eatin´ Dust. Desert Session 5/6 erschien und Scott Reeder war vermutlich gerade mit dem produzieren der ersten Sunn O))) beschäftigt. Alfredo Hernández groovte sich wahrscheinlich schon für das gemeinsame Projekt mit Brant Bjork ein: Ché. Und John Garcia? Der hatte bereits 1997 mit Slo Burn seine erste Nachfolgeband am Start und sollte nun mit Unida, 1999 den ersten Longplayer "coping with the urban coyote" veröffentlichen. Übrigens nach einer sagenhaft guten Split mit Dozer. Yes, Dozer!. Ich habe coping with the urban coyoute 2000/2001 im kleinen Musikladen in Frankfurt für wenig Geld ergattert und höre sie immer noch gerne. Wie fast alle Garcia-Bands.
