could i get a fact about scolipede? they're my fave :)
Of course, I'd be more than happy to provide!
- Professor Dexter
Pokémon that was requested: Scolipede!
Did you know that Scolipede engage in fierce territorial battles with Centiskorch? This Pokémon will clasp its prey with the claws on its neck until it stops moving, finishing them off with deadly poison. At the end of one of these battles, the victor makes a meal of the loser!

...Wait. I'm being an idiot. Pokémon don't typically follow you around for a day and a half and talk about how "totally uncool" it was of them to ram into you and how they totally wish they could make up for that with a battle. (And I call myself a therapist...)
Everyone meet Fruit Rollup. She is going back to Pinwheel (agreed upon) once I'm done with this gym challenge because I cannot house a 8ft tall wild-born Megapede when she evolves, but I think we'll make pretty good friends in the meantime!

In BW, Faithful, Devlin and Albus in counter all different types of creatures, such as heart-rippers and bloatsaps etc (apologises if they are spelt wrong lol). I'm curious if their any other creatures you've made for BW, or any other one of your series, which you may not have involved or may not have given much information/idea about.
Oh there's plenty! Trisectamols, Kriwll, Megapedes, Lavamaids, Overhydras, the list goes on lol
I won't tell you about them until they come up. I think that's only fair for right now.

Mega Scolipede: Megapede Pokemon
Ability: Speed Boost
Dex Entry 1: Scolipede's poison has become strong enough to completely down an opponent within minutes, and any human unfortunate enough to fall victim to this Pokemon's venom must seek immediate medical attention, as they will only have a few hours to live otherwise. This poison combined with this Pokemon's ruthless pursuit of prey and opponents alike has earned it the nickname of "The Venomous Nightmare".
Dex Entry 2: Once this form of Scolipede has caught sight of a target, it will tirelessly pursue its target until they have completely exhausted themselves before finishing them off with its lethal venom. There are tales of a ruthless general who rode this Pokemon into battle. It is said that he perished not long after the war he led, with some saying it was at the venom of his own Pokemon.
Here is my prediction for what a Mega Scolipede could look like.

Non-manmade freak hybrids: need a plot device?
Tumblr media
There is some reoccuring weird mix of features in Western kaiju thare not mystical, sometimes like completely different phylums, particularly Monsterverse.
Now normally I'd leave that alone, but considering Dr. Demonicus's experiments in marvel comics, where he created similar creatures with radiation of a meteorite...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well it just feels this might be something can be turned into worldbuilding, some sort of plot device. Some weird but rare process , related to something in the deep gravity-anomaly caverns cribbed from Monstervers, that can be recreated.
(Megapede from Godzilla the Series might also fit into this category of hybrids, but the designer, bless him, did not understand the assignment of a centipede and made a caterpillar, but I don't think the script knew the difference either. the name is good.)

Following up on the monsters from the 90s cartoon, which ones do you think would work best in a proper Godzilla movie? Either as the main monster or as, like, secondary monsters?
All of 'em. Every episode of Godzilla: The Series is essentially it's own little twenty-four minute monster movie. It manages that by 1: being serialized and thus not having to spend a long first act establishing who our characters are and how the setting works and 2: cutting all the chaffe out of the second and third acts to give you a lot of monster action and story beats. And one of the reasons I think it's better than its predecessor The Godzilla Power Hour, which also had these advantages, is that it tried to make each monster's story feel unique. Godzilla vs. Giant Rats in a sewer, Godzilla vs. the Loch Ness Monster but really the mad scientist who stole her baby, Godzilla vs. a legally distinct from King Kong giant ape BUT it's actually a robot and also the real threat's a big fucking snake, Godzilla vs. a Giant Bee but there's also smaller giant bees and animate vines to menace the heroes, etc. You could take almost any episode from the series and just give it some elaboration to make into a movie.
I guess we could rule out monsters who have clear counterparts - like how Megapede is supposed to be a Mothra homage, or Q is supposed to be a Rodan homage (and also Q from Q The Winged Serpent) - but even then I feel the series did a good job of making its homages broad enough that they can still work as their own characters.

Iterator Yuri
Tumblr media
Twitter wanted some Looks to the Moon Yuri but I never stated on the poll it be some Canon x Canon Yuri >:3. Posting it here too cuz I need to get a proper Following somehow/eventually.
The Other Iterator is Ever Consuming Abyss, home to a faraway Region where the Local Wildlife is bigger than the one we know, not fun running into a Titan Vulture or Megapede.

what if the human centipede was just the entire fucking animal chain? ex :lion>zebra>grass would it be even possible to stitch a grass's asshole to the zebra's mouth? or would you stitch the zebra's mouth with grass blades instead of yarn?
Ladies, gents and theys, good question..
We could have an animalpede
A plantpede
A fishpede
A megapede with EVERYTHING
WHY NOT A PLANET PEDE EVEN?

Ornatipede - The Ride Megapede Pokemon
They live in herds, and feed on decaying plants. If they find themselves lacking nutrients they will not hesitate to strip bark or chew bones they come across. This, and their ability to burrow underground, has helped them thrive in their desert homeland.
Ancient humans were drawn to these Pokemon, and they have been selectively bred for centuries for their strong builds and good temperaments.
Today they can be found all over as beloved ride Pokemon. Those living in temperate climates seldom fully bury themselves. However, these mischievous creatures will sometimes prank or annoy their trainers by burrowing into the earth to avoid work.
If you enjoy my work, please consider watching the video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fukSfbKDyJE

Those fucking bugs have it in for me. Pictured: The aftermath of several Insectoid incursions by way of infested ship parts, infested ship chunks, raids, and infestations all in the same few weeks. The raid was the worst, almost nothing but Megapedes. With their tough armor and high pain tolerance, they easily sauntered up to my gunline even under a barrage of charged bullets, and the battle devolved into a melee in which two of my men were downed, and a few suffered casualties of friendly fire (btw, like 5 people also had malaria). Irwin died. A sad loss. She had been one of my best colonists for some time, but, I already have two new recruits in the making. So it'll be good to free up some space.

Prayer to a Hungry God
A groan came from your dry throat as you lazily lounged on the beach chair. Scrunching up your nose, you opened your eyes, briefly glaring at the sun- and getting back more than you bargained from it as the light almost burnt your eyes.
This was your chance. To get away from everything. From everyone. At a small, private beach with a rental house nearby, it was everything you dreamed of after all the chasing those people had been doing after you.
Telling anyone where you were right now would compromise the secrecy you had been longing for. Unfortunately, this meant friends, family, amidst others. But it was for the best. If 'they' found you, then all this effort would be wasted and your hopes dashed.
Your Scolipede- the companion you had picked to stay by your side, the rest of your team staying with the lookalike version of you so 'they' wouldn't find the real you, was named Alastor, fittingly enough.
And Alastor was... a 'bit' affectionate.
Any attempts to keep the rather cuddly bug Pokémon usually failed as this time he affectionately buried his face in your hair before drawing away, staring into your eyes with his. Turning, the Megapede Pokémon began to walk, and so you followed. His interactions always were brief.
A sound like buzzing sounded in your ear, but you went to ignore it as Alastor paused in place. Frowning, you tentatively poked his side, it deepening when he doesn't answer. Moving your gaze to where it mirrored the direction Alastor's was facing, your feet were now rooted to the spot where you stood.
That chill. That chill, went down your spine, because what laid ahead was an unwelcome sight. A large airship with orange and grey colours hovered in the distant skies, and smaller, dots on the blue horizon bringing ripples in their wake which you soon recognized to be jet-skis- and they were moving FAST. They had already become more easily recognizable in a matter of seconds.
''Alastor! Keep the jet-skis busy!'' Your shout went to the Scolipede, who nodded as he glared to the jet-skis.
While he did that, packing up what you could within such short notice was harder than you had initially thought. Some things kept sticking out of the bags, so you decided to leave some things behind for your sake.
Alastor's Pokéball you definitely kept, along with some food, a passport, alongside other essential things (though you couldn't deny that you brought some unessential things).
Sprinting out of the house, your jaw dropped as the airship was above you, casting a shadow as it blotted out the sunlight on your spot. You spouted so many curses it would've made a sailor blush.
Already, Alastor valiantly fought the grunt's Pokémon, but you saw a Solrock amidst the mix of battling. Sticking around was too risky. And so you made haste, disappearing into the bushes.
The back beach was quiet, a total opposite to the chaos back at the front beach where all the action was at. But something was off. You sniffed the air, and the stench of gasoline immediately overpowered your senses, making you scrunch up your face in disgust.
Coughing, you squinted, looking around for the source. Then you see it. The backup boat, a motor-powered dinghy that you began to refer to as the ''Destiny's Bounty II'', in earlier times, the name then stuck on and you couldn't imagine yourself giving it another name.
It was in ruins. The motor had been torn from the rest of the boat, leaking gasoline which had caused the smell. A rustle in the bushes then caught your attention. You looked back to see the gasoline trail touching the boat lit aglow. Escape now was impossible.
More sounds came from the bushes, and you had to back away as they got louder, before the grunts that had been chasing you down emerged from their spots.
''ALASTOR! ALASTOR! ALA-'' You tried yelling to the Scolipede.
''SHUT UP.'' A man, in the same dark grey and orange uniform like the others screamed. ''Your Pokémon is safe with us, if you come willingly you will see him again.'' He told you calmly.
''NEVER. I'M NOT DOING THAT.'' You shouted back at him, grinding your teeth together.
''Whoever said you completely had a choice?" The man questioned as he grinned. The grunts came closer, now holding people-sized nets in between pairs.
These people were crazy- but what were you to do? Your head whipped around as you tried to survey your situation, but with the masses of grunts and Pokémon, escape was merely a passing thought.
Clasping your hands together, you turned your head to the ground, fighting back the near-to spilling tears. Please. You hoped, knowing how little you've paid attention to those above, it wouldn't surprise you if they ignored your thoughts, to let you rot in a cell for the rest of your life.
Thoughts of letting your close ones be let down were attached to you like chains with an anchor at the end, pulling you into the waters which surrounded your island of thought. If something didn't happen soon, you'd quickly be at the seafloor.
The grunts stopped, muttering something, and it took you all of your courage to look up, as they're all still standing surrounding you, but... in the corner of your eye, something golden glowed. Turning to face it, the hunting team now forgotten, your gaze fixated on the glowing golden ring in front of you.
There's not enough time to react as something shot out, taking you into its grasp and retreating back the way it came as the portal closed behind you.
-------
''Well, look who called for my almighty presence.'' A voice boomed, the sound so loud you wanted to put your hands over your ears just to muffle it to a more tolerable level.
There's a minute's silence, as your gaze slowly traveled up the being's oddly-shaped torso, which sported a gold ring with several tufts of purple fur, encircling a hole in the middle of its chest. You weren't sure if it was actually a hole, it was just dark in comparison to the rest of it.
Then to the grinning face of the Dijin Pokémon. ''Pardon for my voice, I wasn't too sure as to what volume I had to use when speaking to a mors-'' The Dijin hesitated, before continuing: "m-mortal. Things change.''
Your eyebrow lifted at the Dijin's hesitation, however, you let the words relating to the matter die on your tongue. A new question, borne out of worry, arose in your mind. Alastor. He was with them now, but that didn't stop your thoughts rushing into your head.
''Ala-Alastor!'' Your cry tore itself out of your throat, as you struggled in the Dijin Pokémon's grip. ''My Scolipede! He's back with them!'' Hoopa eyed you with concern, as a ring on one of the arms expanded in size, flying off and settling down near the ground.
Activating, a seemingly familiar Pokémon then walked through- but then you quickly saw it wasn't yours and squirmed in Hoopa's grasp. The Dijin Pokémon lightly exhaled, making the portal swallow up the Pokémon, trying again.
This time the attempt was successful, your eyes lighting up in happiness, relief flooding your senses. You wanted to bounce up and down as well, but found you couldn't since you were still dangling in the air, only held by one of the six detached arms of Hoopa.
''Please, let me down!'' You call to the Dijin Pokémon, who with a grumble, did so, and finally your feet met the cold stone ground.
Hoopa then uncurled the fingers keeping you in place, when you had the opportunity, you took it and sprinted towards your Scolipede. Once you reached the Megapede Pokémon's side, you bounced on your feet, flicking your fingers around before settling down at Alastor's side, a small smile on your face.
Distantly, a rumbling like thunder sounded somewhere nearby, and you looked at Alastor to see if it came from him. The Megapede Pokémon shook his head, and you then turned your eyes to Hoopa, who stared down at you expectantly.
''Is something wrong?" You asked, starting to feel nervous as your fingers find the cuffs of your shirt, tugging at it. You keep doing this as the silence continued without answer, your nervousness turning into anxiety.
Hoopa finally broke the silence with a small cough, seemingly embarrassed. ''It's just that... I've been expecting something in return for saving you.'' The Dijin Pokémon told you, eyes meeting yours. But the uncomfortable sensation behind your eyes arose as your gazes met, and so you looked away. ''What I may ask is- ugh, I'll go on with it-''
Without warning, Hoopa snatched your comparatively small form up, your mouth clamming shut as your emotions worked into overdrive. What was Hoopa doing?
The Dijin Pokémon clearly had no intention of telling you, beginning to hover the hand with you in its grip towards the face of the massive Pokémon. You began to squirm and then thrash uselessly in the grip, making the Dijin Pokémon pause for a moment, however the process continued much to your distress.
Your vision turned a light shade of purple, your body beginning to feel like it was being squeezed through the eye of a needle as everything began to hurt, overwhelming the last of your senses before it all stopped.
The room seemed a bit bigger than it was before, a small squeak escaped your even tinier form now that Hoopa was only lightly holding you in order to make sure you weren't finished off.
No words could escape your mouth now, over-stimulation made sure of that, mind on complete shutdown. Only when something warm and light brushed against your exposed skin made you look to the source was when you saw Hoopa's wide, gaping mouth, the teeth gleaming in the dim light of the cavern. You were dangling above it.
Another scream tore itself from your throat as your world turned itself upside down; limbs flailing uselessly by your sides as if they could slow the fall into the maw of the hungry god. Hoopa had let go.
With a squelch, you landed on the beast's tongue, the mouth quickly closing once you were inside, all light now extinguished you were helpless as the giant tongue of the Dijin moved you around, coating you in a thick layer of saliva.
Hoopa leaned its head backward once finished, feeling you slide from the front of its mouth to the back, where the Dijin Pokémon quickly took a gulp as you went past the uvula.
Your attempts to scramble back up were thwarted as the muscles of the throat took you and began your descent, squishing and pushing on all sides, almost relaxing weren't it for the fact this was a terrifyingly new experience for you.
But there was nothing else you could do, so you decided to let it happen, despair plaguing your feeble mind. Your parents weren't going to see you again, and neither were your friends. After all of that drama was over back with the hunters, you were going to go back to everyone and celebrate.
Guess you couldn't now.
Letting a few tears fall, you then felt your feet slide into a more spacious area, where the rest of your body followed. Warm, squishy muscle walls surrounded you on all sides and distantly you could feel the rhythmic beating... of a heart?
Curling up, you cursed your existence as you waited for the digestive fluids to come and take you already. Hey, you were in here, so it might as well happ-
One of the walls moved outward, hitting you in the side. You looked over to it as it continued, hearing something outside.
''I scared you, didn't I?" Came the voice of Hoopa, uncharacteristically soft. Frowning, you turned on your side, away from the Dijin Pokémon as it continued trying to get your attention.
Finally, you bite. ''Yes.'' A huff exited you once you say this, trying your best to cross your arms in the space you had. ''Yes, you did.''
A beat of silence passed, which wasn't so pleasant.
''You should be able to safely stay in there... Freaking you out was the last thing on my mind, I've never had anyone pray to me in... ages.''
Patting the squishy muscle beneath, you tried getting comfortable, listening to the distant beating of the Dijin Pokémon's heart.
''If it makes you feel comfortable, once you're let out... you can catch me.''
Silently, you nodded, the warmth catching up to you as sleep began to take its hold on your mind, lulling you into its depths. Outside, Hoopa exhaled, looking down to Alastor who was staying still at the wall of the cavern, staring up at the Dijin Pokémon with wide eyes.
The movements inside Hoopa's stomach had eventually settled down, so the Dijin Pokémon decided to take it easy and settle down too.
Perhaps tomorrow would be a long day.

Jorphdan previews the Spelljammer ship minis available for pre-order from Wizkids.
This (first?) wave includes:
Turtle Ship
Scorpion
Astral Dreadnought -- A monster first featured on the cover of the AD&D Manual of the Planes, and included in every edition since.  Earlier versions were known as the ethereal dreadnought.
Lamprey
Giant Gelatinous Cube -- This thing has got to be even easier to run away from in space, right?
Hammerhead
Esthetic -- The reason Jorphdan couldn’t find a ship card for the esthetic is because it’s technically a creature.  It’s included in the Monstrous Compendium Spelljammer Appendix I (MC7), and is created and flown by the reigar, who also have an entry in that book.
Three generic Asteroids -- Useful for set dressing.  Turn them around, let’s see if any of them have mouths!
Megapede -- Another monster on a ship scale.  The megapede was first published for Dark Sun, in Monstrous Compendium Dark Sun Appendix -- Terrors of the Desert (MC12).  I have lost count of the number of Dark Sun originated monsters that have been previewed for this upcoming Spelljammer set.  I think it’s five or six, now.
Wasp -- My post on the Wasp is here.  It’s a fairly sturdy ship, but in OG Spelljammer you had to salvage it or take it from the lizardfolk if you wanted one.
Living Ship -- I have no idea what this is.  It’s probably new.
Space Galleon
Bombard
Squid Ship
Ancient Gold Dragon
Shrike Ship
Star Moth (Elvish Man-O-War)
Ancient Solar Dragon
Ancient Lunar Dragon
Damselfly -- The damselfly is indeed a variation of the Dragonfly ship.  It’s an upgrade, to be honest, made of ceramic, fully enclosed, and with crew reduced to two.  It’s a gamble to try and board a random Damselfly, because you can’t tell what the crew is made of unless they come outside to fire their weapon(s) at you.
Adult Red Dragon
Swarm of Murder Comets
Tyrant Ship -- Tyrant ships are discussed here and beholders are discussed here.  I really, really want to see how they will handle beholders, seeing as a single beholder is already a CR 13 legendary creature, and really complicated to run.
Cosmic Horror -- Ia! Ia!
Flying Fish (Tradesman) -- Discussed here.  A step up from a beginner ship.
Nightspider (Neogi Deathspider) -- Neogi are discussed here.  A Deathspider is not for the weak of heart, or high of THAC0.  I expect that the Nightspider will be largely similar, although neogi no longer automatically come with umber hulk bodyguards.
Nautiloid
Also on offer are two battlemats, one for Wild Space and one for the Astral Sea.
