Summer House Season 8 Premiere: Drama, New Connections, and Relationship Struggles!
Tumblr media
Welcome to the highly-anticipated premiere of Summer House Season 8! In the first episode, titled "Declaration of Co dependence," we witness a newfound camaraderie in the house as Carl and Lindsay are away for the weekend. Ciara hits it off with the new guy, while Kyle and Amanda face serious issues in their marriage.
The episode kicks off with the introduction of the new housemate, West Wilson, a sports journalist who already knows Carl and Lindsay. West joins Kyle and Amanda for their car ride to the Hamptons, and as they discuss the house dynamics, Amanda bursts into laughter at the mention of Lindsay not being everyone's favorite. It seems like Lindsay's reputation precedes her!
Meanwhile, Carl and Lindsay are packing for their trip to Washington D.C., where they will even be visiting the White House for the Fourth of July. Lindsay is relieved to take a break from wedding planning, as this might be her last summer before getting married. Carl, on the other hand, wants to leave the drama of the previous summer behind and enjoy this summer to the fullest. Good luck with that one, Carl!
Back at the house, Amanda confesses that she's not exactly upset that Carl and Lindsay are away for the weekend. She shares with Paige, Ciara, and Gabby that one of the reasons she returns to the house every year is to spend time with people other than Kyle. Ouch! That's not the nicest thing to say about your spouse.
Kyle, opening up about their marital struggles, reveals that they're struggling to feel like a team and have different views on work/life balance. He's working hard to build a future, but they seem to be on two different planets. To make matters worse, Amanda is not being very nice to him this summer. Finally, Kyle confronts her about her attitude, indicating that things don't look bright for their relationship.
As the dynamics of the house shift with Carl and Lyndsay's absence, new connections start forming. Ciara gets along famously with the charming new guy, West, who impresses her with his genuine interest n getting to know her. It's a refreshing change from the self-absorbed men she's encountered before. Looks like sparks may be flying.
The next morning, the housemates enjoy each other's company without the presence of Carl and Lindsay. They gather on Paige's bed, resembling a fun sleepover and filling the house with laughter and camaraderie. It's a different atmosphere, and everyone seems to be getting along splendidly.
With the arrival of Jesse Solomon, who bears a striking resemblance to Carl, the dynamics may be in for another twist. But West doesn't seem worried, as he seems to have it off with Ciara. However, Kyle advises him to play it cool and earn Ciara's trust, noting her guarded nature.
On the relationship front, Kyle confides in Paige about his concerns, hoping for her perspective. He yearns for a balanced partnership with Amanda, where they can support each other. Paige acknowledges the frustrations, but also hints at the clash of their personalities. Amanda, however, retaliates, claiming that Kyle makes things up and takes out his work stress on  her. It's clear that tensions are running high, and communication is crucial.
Summer House Season 8 is off to a captivating start, with drama, new connections, and relationship struggles taking center stage. Stay tuned for more fireworks in the Hamptons as this exciting season unfolds!

‘Summer House’ Fans Divided on Twitter Over Lindsay vs Danielle: “Narcissistic Sob Fest Is Disgusting”
The Summer House drama is heating up — and followers of the present have discovered themselves divided over Danielle Olivera and Lindsay Hubbard‘s friendship-ending feud. During Monday evening’s (May 8) episode of the hit Bravo present, Olivera utterly broke down when she discovered that Carl Radke (Hubbard’s then-boyfriend) failed to incorporate her in planning his marriage proposal to her BFF.…

Judgment Day in the Hamptons
Tumblr media
As much as Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s drama dominated this season, it’s almost surprising that their storyline didn’t dominate the reunion.
But thank God it didn’t!
We continue with Danielle Olivera’s confession of hating Ciara Miller.
I understand that Danielle has some resentful feelings towards Ciara, but hate? That’s rough.
In a more important part of the reunion, Andy Cohen talked about Ciara and Mya Allen’s talk about racism.
They were celebrated for addressing race in the Hamptons. And fans said that it was one of the best conversations about race on Bravo.
The housemates said that it had opened their eyes to what was going on around them.
But Danielle was unwilling to let Ciara have this one moment of peace and joy. She accused Ciara of not acknowledging her as a person of colour.
But Andy said that she was also silent while Ciara, Mya and Alex Wach shared their experiences.
It felt like she was shitting on the one thing that was positive about Ciara this season.
She’s allowed to feel how she feels, it just felt like a reach. Or was she blinded by her hatred?
Like, couldn’t Ciara have this one moment of peace?
Because she was judged by Andy – and silently by the entire room – for hooking up with Austen Kroll after that disastrous weekend.
“I’m super surprised to hear that you hooked up with him after all of that.”
Wow. That had to leave a sting.
A part of me would have wanted Austen and Craig Conover to show up at this reunion, because they played a huge part this season.
But the hostility at this reunion was already high enough, so it would’ve been a disaster to have Austen there as well.
At the end of the reunion, Paige DeSorbo still refused to look at Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard.
And she never gave a truthful reason for why.
Why would she feel that uncomfortable sitting next to Lindsay and Carl? Something’s up.
Maybe we won’t understand the reason behind Paige’s behaviour until we’ve seen season 2 of Winter House.
Now, where’s that trailer?

Total Drama Camp Island au
Fuck it. Au where Camp Wawanakwa is a Theatre camp. Chris is the director, Chef is the technical director. Mixing Gen 1 and Gen 2, the cast and crew splits up like this:
(PS, if two people have the same role, it’s just double cast.)
CAST
Alejandro - Joined because he enjoyed theatre as a class. He easily gets roles, though his charm is sometimes seen as an unfair advantage to others so he doesn’t audition much.
NOTABLE ROLES
the Phantom
the SQUIP
Emmett Forrest
Rocky
Kenickie Murdoch
Sierra - Joined because OBVIOUSLY she wants a place to nerd out! She gets good roles because she’s one of the only people who put all her emotions and being into her lines AND songs.
NOTABLE ROLES
Sandy Cheeks
Jenna Rolland
Columbia
Ronette
Delia Deetz
Duncan - I can’t decide whether he joined as a joke, or if his parents forced him to hang out with other teens. Maybe both. But surprisingly, he’s a good actor—AND can, surprisingly, do an incredible Mr. Krabs impression. He also constantly fights with crew to not wear a wig, keeping his mohawk onstage.
NOTABLE ROLES
Mr. Krabs
Jake Dillinger
Eddie
Orin Scrivello
Beetlejuice???
Tyler - Joined because he thought it would be like High School Musical. His roles are never big, but he has fun with them and always treats them like they’re the lead.
NOTABLE ROLES
Patchy the Pirate
one of the businessmen that purchases an Audrey II
Harold - He WOULD be a threatre kid if he could. He auditions with rapping EVERY TIME. And it works for him.
NOTABLE ROLES
Sheldon J. Plankton
Kevin G
Riff Raff
Geoff - Joined as a dare, and ended up loving it. He’s super chill about cast lists, and whatever he ends up with, he makes sure it’s including Bridgette.
NOTABLE ROLES
Patrick Star/Larry the Lobster/Gary the Snail
Damien Hubbard
Heather - She likes being in the spotlight. She expects roles, and she gets roles. .. not always. She’s typecast as the mean girl.
NOTABLE ROLES
Chloe Valentine
Regina George
Magenta
Vivian Kensington
Betty Rizzo
Lindsay - Loves movies and musicals and wants to be like that!! But she usually forgets her lines… and when she does, they’re all from Mean Girls. Even if she’s doing Rocky Horror, she’ll say her Karen Smith lines. Oh well.
NOTABLE ROLES
Karen Smith
Paulette Bonafonté
Frenchy Facciano
Leshawna - She has a big voice, so she’ll join to get big roles. Although, she’s never really cast in dance heavy roles…
NOTABLE ROLES
Pearl Krabs
Janice Ian
Audrey II/Chiffon
Elle Woods
Owen - He thought theatre camp could be fun! He has a surprisingly nice voice, and is just really good at embodying characters.
NOTABLE ROLES
SpongeBob SquarePants/Patrick Star
Michael Mell
Noah - “Joined as a joke”. He secretly really wanted to. He has the gay theatre kid energy here… his voice is also quite pleasant.
NOTABLE ROLES
Squidward Tentacles
Adam Maitland
Brad Majors
Warner Huntington III
Trent - Joined for fun since he had a free summer. He always brings his guitar, and sometimes plays it for script read throughs.
NOTABLE ROLES
an Electric Skate
Aaron Samuels
Cody - Family got him to join. They hoped he could get really cute roles, and he acts like he doesn’t care. He does.
NOTABLE ROLES
SpongeBob SquarePants/Old Man Jenkins
Seymour Krelborn
Bridgette - A friend suggested she signed up, so she did—tries to get a couples role with Geoff ever since they got together.
NOTABLE ROLES
Mayor of Bikini Bottom
Brooke Lohst
Janice Ian
Brooke Wyndham
Courtney - She’s done every subject and activity, of COURSE she’ll try theatre! She’s destined to be a star! She takes everything extremely seriously. And if she doesn’t get the role she wants… it’s scary.
NOTABLE ROLES
Christine Daae
Jenna Rolland
Gretchen Weiners
Vivian Kensington
Barbara Maitland
Crystal
Katie and Sadie - They picked a summer camp they wanted to do together, chose this, and auditioned for EVERYTHING together. They don’t really do roles that aren’t a duo.
NOTABLE ROLES
the Delta Nu girls
Justin - Decided to join because he assumed he’d get roles IMMEDIATELY for how he looked. He did not.
NOTABLE ROLES
an Electric Skate
Kyle the delivery man
Cameron - His mom suggested he joined a theatre camp because it felt “safe”—plus, he can actually sing and dance pretty well, since he grew up with his mom’s disco music.
NOTABLE ROLES
Seymour Krelborn
Anne Maria - She REALLY wants a shot at being a lead in a musical, but is painfully… tone deaf. But she’s pretty good at dancing, actually!
NOTABLE ROLES
Cha-Cha DiGregorio
Mike - His psychiatrist suggested he take a theatre camp, since his excuse for his switches is that he just “likes to act”. In reality, Mike… doesn’t really like acting. He’ll take one role, but all his others are usually done by… not. Him.
NOTABLE ROLES
Jeremy Heere
Beetlejuice (Mal)
Danny Zuko (Vito)
Zoey - She actually loves musicals! Big theatre kid! She can make her own costumes and knows way too much about the shows she’s in, but barely says anything about it because she’s nervous about appearing as weird.
NOTABLE ROLES
Karen
Christine Canigula
Cady Heron
Chutney Wyndham
Janet Weiss
Lydia Deetz
Sandy Olsson
Lightning - Joined by accident. He doesn’t know where he is. He likes the attention, though.
NOTABLE ROLES
an Electric Skate
Brick - He was too nervous to join theatre at school, so he tried a summer camp no one had ever heard of… and it was perfect!
NOTABLE ROLES
Perch Perkins
Dr. Scott
Scott - Joined as a joke. Auditions as a joke. Usually tries to get someone to mess up a line or say the M word onstage…
NOTABLE ROLES
Rich Goranski
Dakota - OOOFF COOUURRSEEE she has to be center stage! Of COURSE! It’s not Broadway, but this’ll do!
NOTABLE ROLES
Brooke Wyndham
Miss Argentina
Dawn - (is usually crew)
NOTABLE ROLES
Audrey
CREW
DJ - paints sets!
Eva - helps with exercises and choreography!
Gwen - head of makeup!
Izzy - she does the practical effects/special effects/visuals!
Courtney - she has FOUGHT with Chris and Chef to be allowed to act and do crew at the same time. she does lights. do NOT let her be stage manager.
Ezekiel - also pants sets!
Beth - assists in costuming!
Cameron - prop master!
Mike - when he can avoid acting, he helps Cam!
Dawn - she’s an assistant stage manager, and always knows who’s playing what before the cast list gets written somehow…
B - to save money on hiring various companies for flying or using other big machinery, he handles that himself.
Sam - sound master!
Brick - when he’s not acting, he works on being head of costumes!
Jo - stage manager!
PPS. I know most of these are adult shows, but do you think Chris gives a shit

Surprisingly Hostile Reunion Vibes
Tumblr media
I think the hostility at the reunion took a lot of fans by surprise.
Paige DeSorbo was seated next to Lindsay Hubbard, and she refused to look her in the eye.
I don’t really get where this hostility was coming from.
Paige claimed that Lindsay and Danielle Olivera were difficult to befriend, and she has felt like an outsider ever since she joined the cast.
And while I enjoy Paige on the show, there’s no doubt that there’s annoyance for her and Ciara Miller among the housemates.
They’re always in bed, gossiping. And they do minimum of chores and party preparations in the house.
They’re clearly not domestic creatures. Their room is always messy and untidy.
Ciara slammed a knife into the marble kitchen counter! To cut flowers! That was so embarrassing!
And while I agree with Amanda Batula’s concern for Lindsay after her miscarriage, it doesn’t seem genuine coming from Paige and Ciara.
It feels a little judgy.
And it was unnecessary of Paige to ask Carl Radke what he did this summer.
It’s just like the brothel comment and the judgy tone about Lindsay’s miscarriage. It’s insensitive.
Carl was 6 months sober during the season! What expected Paige of him?
Ciara threw a wine glass at Danielle which left Carl covered with red wine! I felt so bad for Carl at that moment.
But let’s discuss the wine glass throw.
Ciara was so wrong for throwing that wine glass at Danielle. It should never had gone to that level.
I agree with Carl. It was because Lindsay didn’t give her the reaction she wanted.
And having a relationship with Danielle or not, she should have reached out to Danielle when that episode aired!
Her silence made Danielle furious, and she told her she had grown a hatred for her after all of this.
If I’m going to play the devil’s advocate for a second though; Danielle helped escalating the situation.
She claimed that she tried to calm the situation, but her words were calming ones: “You motherfucker!” “Sit your ass down!”
However, nothing warranted that wine glass throw.
