New Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles completed his first NFL Draft in 2022. Who did he pick? What was his strategy? How did he grade?
2022 Chicago Bears NFL Draft Recap
Let’s just say I was under-impressed by new Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles with the way he handled the 2022 NFL Draft. His draft picks and his strategy were underwhelming at best. I understand he’s in a poor spot, taking over after a disastrous end to former GM Ryan Pace’s final season. Poles has a lot of work to do to get the Bears back in a good spot. Are the…
Deja and Eli have been friends since elementary school (Demetri too but Deja didn't start hanging out with him until middle school)
They immediately hit it off because of Deja's little knowledge on the Star Wars, Star Trek, MCU, DC....anything other than Cartoon Network universe.
After the hour long recess explanation, Deja still didn't understand but she liked talking to Eli
When they hit middle school, they became closer than ever. They would hang out in Eli's basement and play whatever piqued their small brains at the time. Demetri was a bit skeptical (obviously look at the poor boy)
One day Deja mentioned something along the lines of how Cartoon Network was the best cartoon channel and that's when Demetri knew he loved her. "Honestly Steven universe is one of the best-" Demetri didn't even give her time to finish before he attacked her with a hug
~Flash forward to high school~
Obviously Eli, Deja, and Demetri were inseparable.
A lot of "So who's house are we going over today?" Always Eli's
Eli and Demetri would go to all of her dance shows to cheer her on, Deja would listen to their rants about any and everything.
Dej was the. protector of the two, she would whoop Kyler's ass (if she had the strength to do so)
When Eli joined Cobra Kai (after he met Miguel), she didn't agree with it first but she knew this is something he wanted to do
She waited outside of the dojo during the beginning but when he stormed out, muttering about how he was getting a "new look" she was (rightfully) worried about him
She told him that she loved him for who he was and that he shouldn't change himself because some alcoholic white man told him too. (She's liked him for a couple of months and has yet to open her yap)
Nonetheless she went with him to get his haircut, she actually picked the color because they matched her braids at the time.(Which Eli would have done because mans had been liking HEEER since they met)
He tried to convince her to get a tattoo which she shot down quick fast and in a hurry because her granny would slaughter her if she even INHALED the scent of tattoo ink, so she stuck to getting tongue ring ,simple silver ball.
(This is the good part people so pay attention)
Deja was literally balling when that needle went through her tongue and Eli was kissing her head "You're okay, I believe in you Dej, you're so strong you can do anything...That's why I love you."
Let her tell you, any ounce of pain that was in her left. Her grip tightened around his hand and her eyes met his.
(They very much did have a Disney moment)
It's not that he never told her that he loved her, it's just the way he said it.
When it was his turn to get his tattoo, she tried, keyword, tried to tell him that she felt the same.
"I- muh- moo-poo"
"Ah! What?"
"I thaid! I muh moo poo!!"
.....Yeah after that she just whipped her phone out and texted him, which he didn't see until 4 hours after he got the tattoo.
His back way aching and her mouth was all puffed up but they were together and that's all they cared about
A/N: I have never wrote a head cannon before so please have mercy on my soul
Caleb is going #1 regardless of which team drafts him. Teams in the top-10 like Washington and New England are sure to make juicy offers. Williams is the most prized QB prospect since Andrew Luck, and once the Bears shed themselves of Justin Fields, this was a done deal.
2 WASHINGTON - QB Jayden Daniels (LSU)
The Commanders will make every attempt to trade up one spot for hometown hero Caleb Williams, but the more likely scenario is they get stuck with their 2nd choice at QB. LSU coach Brian Kelly intimated that this would be their pick at #2. Daniels takes way too many big hits, so he’s going to remind Washington of Robert Griffin III. Let’s hope his career lasts a little longer.
I don’t get it, but apparently NFL GM’s love J.J. McCarthy’s potential. I’m trying to predict what WILL happen, not what I think SHOULD happen. The Vikings move aggressively and methodically up the board for their new signal caller.
Minnesota gives up their two first-rounders (11 & 23) and a 2nd-rounder next year. The Patriots - even without Belichick’s influence - continue their tradition of trading down.
4 ARIZONA - WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. (Ohio State)
The Cardinals would be profoundly lucky to be able to stay at #4 and still get the 2nd best player in the draft. Harrison seems to be custom made for NFL greatness. He’ll be the best in the league within three years… provided Kyler Murray gets his act together.
5 LA CHARGERS - WR Malik Nabers (LSU) !
Jim Harbaugh will certainly want to establish a run game in LA, so an offensive tackle might be the choice here. But Nabers is a tool too tempting to pass up. Mike Williams was a cap casualty and Keenan Allen was traded away, so they certainly have a need for him.
6 NY GIANTS - QB Drake Maye (North Carolina)
Maye is nobody’s first choice, and his bad tape is really bad. But the Giants are dead-set against Daniel Jones going into 2024 with no competition. They give Evan Neal a 2nd chance (which worked with Andrew Thomas after a lousy rookie year) and pass on Alt.
7 TENNESSEE - OT Joe Alt (Notre Dame)
The Titans commit to Will Levis and give him a valuable protector.
8 ATLANTA - EDGE Dallas Turner (Alabama)
The Falcons have addressed their offense in free agency so they can turn to the defense in the draft. Turner is the edge defender they’ve needed for years.
9 CHICAGO - WR Rome Odunze (Washington)
The new-look Bears offense will need some weapons for Caleb Williams. Keenan Allen isn’t exactly “new.” This could be a potent connection for years.
10 NY JETS - TE Brock Bowers (Georgia)
Another new toy for Aaron Rodgers. Or at least one he’ll watch from the sidelines after he ruptures another body part on the first drive. The Jets have diddly at the position and Rodgers loves his TE’s.
11 NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/MIN) - CB Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo)
The Pats have a plan for the QB position, but it doesn’t involve passing on all the great players available at #11. They’ll take their top corner off the board and pair him with Christian Gonzalez to hopefully form the best pair of young d-backs in the league. Mitchell has wowed GM’s this post-season.
12 DENVER - QB Michael Penix, Jr. (Washington) +
The Broncos couldn’t make a deal for a veteran QB and they don’t have the muscle to trade up. They’re stuck with Jarrett Stidham and Zach WIlson as their QB options so far. They may opt to trade down and still select Penix, but in this scenario, they reach for him.
13 LAS VEGAS - DT Byron Murphy II (Texas)
Signing Christian Wilkins will help the team’s interior greatly, but they still need some help there. Murphy says he’s guaranteed to be drafted in the top half of the first round. Could be BS; could be inside information.
14 NEW ORLEANS - OT Olu Fashanu (Penn State)
The Saints have a long tradition of selecting offensive linemen high in the draft, and what a great time to have so many draftable candidates at #14 - at a time of great need.
15 INDIANAPOLIS - CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama)
The Colts make the most of what they’ve got, but they really don’t got a lot. Just about every position is a position of need, and Arnold might end up being the best corner coming out this year.
16 SEATTLE - CB/S Cooper DeJean (Iowa)
DeJean may be needed at safety with the losses of Diggs and Adams, but he’s perfectly capable of playing corner. That may be his future.
17 JACKSONVILLE - OT Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State)
The Jags have been unhappy with their line play in recent years. Cam Robinson is average when he’s not on IR and Walker Little is little more than an effective back-up. Fuaga slots into RT immediately. He’s an excellent pass protector but he could benefit greatly by moving to guard eventually.
18 CINCINNATI - G/C Jackson Powers-Johnson (Oregon)
Adding Trent Brown helps fortify the outside of the Cincy o-line, but the interior still needs a hand. Ted Karras is a free agent after this season, so they draft his eventual replacement. Powers-Johnson can improve one of the guard spots until then.
19 LA RAMS - EDGE Laiatu Latu (UCLA) +
It’s been a long time since the Rams had a pick this high, so they need to make this count. They add to their youthful D-line with a boost to their pass rush.
20 PITTSBURGH - DT Jer’zhan “Johnny” Newton (Illinois)
Cam Heyward is just about done, and Larry Ogunjobi is easily replaceable. Newton teams with Keeanu Benton and DeMarvin Leal to form the Steelers line of the future.
21 WASHINGTON (PROJ. TRADE W/MIA) - OT J.C. Latham (Alabama)
The Dolphins have very few picks in this draft - including just two in the first four rounds. So they make a deal with Washington, and the Commanders select the left tackle they’ve been missing for years. They see the OT’s disappearing fast, so they package a few of their plentiful picks to move back into the 1st.
Washington deals picks #36 and 67 to move up to this spot.
22 PHILADELPHIA - WR Brian Thomas, Jr. (LSU)
A.J. Brown might have overstayed his welcome in Philly. If he’s dealt before/during day one of the draft, they might have a hard time passing up Brian Thomas.
23 NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/MIN FROM HOU THRU CLE) - QB Bo Nix (Oregon)
The Pats are fine with Jacoby Brissett as their temporary starter, but they love the potential of Nix. He developed incredible accuracy during his 47-year college career.
24 DALLAS - OL Graham Barton (Duke)
The Cowboys built their dynasty on the backs of their offensive line. Now that key parts of their 2023 line are gone, they’ll focus on a rebuild. Barton can train at all 5 position, but he’ll be immediately needed at center.
25 GREEN BAY - OT Amarius Mims (Georgia)
The Packers made the most of what they had last year, but their offensive line was in tatters. David Bakhtiari was elite, but injuries sapped his strength and now he’s gone. Time to rebuild.
26 TAMPA BAY - OT/G Troy Fautanu (Washington)
The Bucs keep getting hit along the interior of their offensive line. With Baker Mayfield getting the big bucks to re-sign with the team, he’ll need the help of someone like Troy Fautanu to protect him.
27 ARIZONA (thru HOU) - EDGE Jared Verse (Florida State)
The Cardinals need everything. Pick anyone. It’ll help.
28 BUFFALO - WR Troy Franklin (Oregon)
With the fire sale going on in Buffalo right now, it’s possible the team already believes they’ve missed their Super Bowl window. Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White were released, and both of last season’s starting wide receivers are gone. The restocking can begin here with a speedy Duck.
29 DETROIT - EDGE Chop Robinson (Penn State)
Aidan Hutchinson needs lots of help. They’re out of Okwaras and John Cominsky ain’t getting to the quarterback. Chop is a little smaller than ideal but he’s got great athleticism.
30 BALTIMORE - CB Nate Wiggins (Clemson)
The Ravens need to get younger at corner and quickly. Wiggins has outstanding instincts for the position, but his frame might not hold up.
31 SAN FRANCISCO - OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
Trent Willams says he wants to play for a few more years, but the Niners have an opportunity to train his replacement and acquire a top-tier backup.
32 KANSAS CITY - WR/KR Xavier Worthy (Texas)
With the legal troubles facing Rashee Rice - just about the only bright spot on the Chiefs wide receiving corps - Kansas City needs to grab one of this year’s elite WRs at #32. They might want to spend multiple picks on the position.
-
ROUND TWO
33 CAROLINA - WR Keon Coleman (Florida State)
34 NEW ENGLAND - WR Adonai Mitchell (Texas)
35 ARIZONA - LB Edgerrin Cooper (Texas A&M)
36 MIAMI (PROJ. TRADE W/WAS) - C Zach Frazier (West Virginia) +
37 LA CHARGERS - OT Jordan Morgan (Arizona)
38 TENNESSEE - CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama) +
39 CAROLINA (FROM NYG) - S Tyler Nubin (Minnesota)
40 WASHINGTON (FM. CHI) - EDGE Darius Robinson (Missouri)
41 GREEN BAY (FM. NYJ) - CB Ennis Rakestraw, Jr. (Missouri)
I know I post this almost every season. But, there's nothing better when it comes to football speeches...and the bottom line is we are at that point in the season. It's time gentlemen to start fighting for those inches. 3 more weeks till Playoffs! Will you be there?
MALIK MY BALLS vs TuPADRE
I am still in shock and disbelief. I think it's a bit like looking at the scores on Sunday and seeing the Patriots week after week. You just grow so use to the Patriots being great that you can't imagine them being bad. So it is with Andy Gullahorn. For years and years he was a tough match up. Someone to fear on the schedule...but now - the guy puts up under 80 points. Am I thankful? Yes. Of course I am. But, man it's hard to watch a dynasty like Andy Gullahorn / a fierce competitor at heart....fall into obscurity. Nice win Me! Nice F'ing Win!
MOOSES ON THE LOOSES vs TREE HUGGERS
Moose right now (Above GIF). He's dropped 2 in a row. Everything is working out...he's now 6-5. Can we get him to 6-6? Please Brett - Please stay focused next week and make this happen. Scott, what can I say about Scott. What a great week he has had. Survivor Champ....moves to 8-3 and if that wasn't enough he took the high point. I tried to take it from him but came up just a bit short. Big players for him - Tank Dell, Bills D and Kyler Murray. Nice win! Congrats!
TRADE WITH ME vs BOOMER SOONER
There he is!!!! There's Brett Rutledge. Week 11 and puts up 127.68 points! Amazing. And, he took down Stu Jones who was on a 3 game winning streak and looking like he was going to coast into the playoffs. Stu had a huge week from Purdy and a decent day from the 49ers D but it couldn't compare to what Brett had going with Love, Cook, Ridley, Gibbs and anytime someone puts up 17 from their kicker it's going to be a good week. Keep it up Brett. I believe. The Moose is next!
LANAKILA vs BACKDOOR BANDITS
Kyle has got to be in tears tonight, knowing that after 6 losses in a row - he finally grabbed a win. He also finally put up over 100 points...108 to be exact. Cliff saved most of his players for Monday night. His ring leader - Pat Mahomes, his trusty Running Back Pacheco and the Eagles kicker Jake Elliott.... Cliff would need 75 points out of these three to steal the win away from Kyle and I know Patrick Mahomes is good but I just don't see this happening - so I am in an early draft of the wrap up...giving this one to Kyle! Congrats! Enjoy the win!
HOWARD vs LONG LEFT BALLERS
Will Bebo ever lose again? This is crazy! Crazy I say! I don't even know what to write anymore. He is really really good. I am officially scared. That's all. Nothing about Rob either. Doesn't matter.
FUNK GUY vs MR AWESOME
Well, here we go...once again it's a monday night and once again Dana is in the hunt for a win. Gabe seems to have it all wrapped up - with all his player finished and 101.86 locked in. Dana has 78.70 and Jalen Hurts left to play. So Dana needs 23.17 from Hurts to grab his 3rd win in a row. The first half Hurts did absolutely nothing but by the 2nd half....he had it going on. Dana came close but in the end...it wasn't enough. Gabe wins in another close one! Congrats Gabe.
SURVIVOR
This is the winner. Scott Krippayne - winning in dramatic fashion as the Lions had to come back to win the game. Congrats Scott!
CHEERLEADER OF THE WEEK
Meet Korea's most popular cheerleader Park Kiryang. She cheers for the KBO (Korea Baseball Organization), She is 23 and I am a fan.
[ad_1] There's more undrafted rookie QBs starting in Week 10 (Tyson Bagent and Tommy DeVito) than former Super Bowl-winning QBs (Russell Wilson). That pretty much sums up the state of the NFL quarterback position right now. Pure chaos. An unprecedented youth movement, injury, uncertainty and great entertainment. Here's 10 things that stand out to me entering Week 10:The NFL is buzzing with QB injuries again. Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending ACL tear a week after Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles. Justin Fields was also ruled out on Thursday for a fourth straight game (thumb injury). On the plus side, Kyler Murray will make his return after tearing his ACL 11 months ago.It all means another weekend of backup QBs. Nine of the 28 starting QBs in Week 10 did not start in Week 1. Including Tommy DeVito, who will make his first career start in Week 10, there's been 48 different starting QBs this year. Well on our way to around 60 this year, and they might even flirt with the NFL-record of 68 set last year. There's already been 12 teams with multiple starting QB in 2023. Those teams have combined to make 27 starting QB changes, led by the Raiders and Browns, who have had to shuffle their starting QB five times a piece already (see all the movement below). The craziest run, though, belongs to the Cardinals, Giants and Vikings. Each of these teams will be starting a different QB for the third straight week! 2. Dobbs pulling off another Minneapolis MiracleA backup QB bonanza usually produces a lot of duds, but every once in a while a hero like Josh Dobbs emerges. Cody Benjamin recently chronicled Dobbs' career journey on seven different teams, culminating with Sunday's win off the bench after zero practice reps in Minnesota. Amazingly, Dobbs has now been on five different teams since last December (Lions, Titans, Browns, Cardinals, Vikings), tied for the most of any player in the NFL in that time. No other QB has been on more than three teams in the last year. Dobbs' underdog story could get even better now that Minnesota has a realistic shot at the playoffs. The Vikings are currently the seventh seed in the NFC and have a 50 percent chance to make the postseason (source: SportsLine) after those chances sat at just 11 percent after their 0-3 start. Only six teams since 1970 have made the playoffs after an 0-3 start, and none since the 2018 Texans. Minnesota winning four games without Justin Jefferson is crazy enough (SportsLine shared there was a 3.7 percent chance of that even happening), now you add the Dobbs story to the mix!3. Rookie QB historyThe QB youth movement has officially reached historic levels. Devito Tommy DeVito is the 10th different rookie starting QB this year, the most in a season in NFL history, breaking the record previously set in 2019. The Giants play the Cowboys in Week 10, who beat them 40-0 in Week 1. There are no moral victories in the NFL, but I think we should make an exception if New York can put any points on the board in Dallas with DeVito making his first start. If you're reading and still wondering who the heck Tommy DeVito is, Cody Benjamin has you covered.4. Stroud's ridiculous anticipation throwsNot every rookie is playing like one. By now you've heard C.J. Stroud rewrote the NFL record books in Week 9 by throwing for a rookie-record 470 yards against the Buccaneers. Watching the game back, I continue to be floored by Stroud's anticipation throws. He consistently throws his receivers open before they are out of their breaks, and on Sunday he did it in the biggest moments. The Texans had to go for it on fourth-and-nine with their kicker hurt so Stroud calmly delivered a perfect ball to tight end Dalton Schultz. Schultz had yet to turn his head around or come out of his break when the ball was released: It was a similar story on the game-winning touchdown pass to Nathaniel Dell. So far, four of Stroud's 14 touchdown passes this season have come when the ball is released before his target is out of their break. Stroud continues to play beyond his years and is on pace for an absurd 4,823 pass yards, 29 touchdown passes and two interceptions. The absurd pace is one reason Bryan DeArdo is already projecting Stroud to have one of the greatest rookie seasons ever. On the flip side, Stroud's interception numbers are sure to regress (he has eight turnover-worthy plays, per Pro Football Focus), plus he's not a threat with his legs and has been inaccurate at times, all reasons why Chris Trapasso provides a more sobering view of Stroud when compared to the best rookie QBs since 2010. One more reason I'm appreciating Stroud's efforts so far: His average pass travels 8.5 yards downfield this year (and it was 11.0 in Week 9), the fifth-longest rate in the NFL. Combine that with the lowest interception percentage in the league (0.4%) and he's the only player ranking top five in both categories this year. Simply put, nobody is stretching the field without making mistakes like Stroud. 5. Star QBs dealing with injuriesWe'll see if Stroud's historic play continues against Joe Burrow and the Bengals on Sunday. Burrow is one of several star QBs who has played through injuries early in the year, and one of the few now thriving. Burrow is finally in midseason form after injuring his calf in training camp. It shows as he leads the NFL in passer rating during the Bengals' four-game win streak after ranking last in Cincinnati's first four games. His performance against pressure has been a day and night difference, too, as he's been shrugging off sacks and making plays. He is 26 of 35 passing with an NFL-high five touchdown passes vs. pressure during the win streak (14 of 37, one TD vs. pressure prior). Josh Allen hasn't found success airing it out this year, and he's been especially stifled since hurting his shoulder in Week 7 against the Giants. He's 3 of 20 passing 20-plus air yards in that span (h/t @Benjamin Solak) and has one TD and six interceptions on those deep balls this year. That's one reason Buffalo is struggling, writes Tyler Sullivan.Justin Herbert has not played like himself since fracturing the middle finger on his non-throwing hand in Week 4 against the Raiders. He's 16th among qualified passers in EPA per play since then vs. third through three games. The dropoff in performance has more to do with his supporting cast, though. Mike Williams and Corey Linsley both played in the first three games, but haven't played since. Herbert's deep ball has been noticeably absent lately and he is the third-most pressured QB since Linsley got hurt. There was nothing sexy about his performance on "Monday Night Football" against the Jets, but he actually deserves praise for not turning the ball over despite being pressured on 60 percent of his dropbacks. It was the highest pressure rate faced without an interception thrown by any QB in a game this year.6. Is Herbert in danger of becoming Stafford with Lions? When the Chargers inevitably underperform against the Lions this Sunday, let the Lions' career of Matthew Stafford be a cautionary tale (or warning) to Los Angeles fans. While we all keep waiting for Justin Herbert and the Chargers to ride his arm to glory, it may take a while. At this point, Herbert has far too many striking similarities to Stafford. Both are heralded for arm talent. Stafford had the third-most passing yards per game (284.6) through four seasons in NFL history, while Herbert currently ranks fourth (282.7). Both had 5,000-yard seasons at age 23, two of four players to ever do that. Both with terrible defenses. The Chargers defense is what is mostly holding Herbert back, just like Stafford. Detroit allowed 26.6 points per game in Stafford's first four seasons, the worst support any QB has ever gotten. Herbert is sixth on that list, thanks to the Chargers defense (25.1 points per game allowed since 2020)Both played little brother to all-time great QB. Herbert may always be looking up at Patrick Mahomes in the AFC West just like Stafford played second fiddle to Aaron Rodgers in the NFC North.Justin Herbert had zero playoff wins and lost his playoff debut in his third season. Stafford had zero playoff wins with Detroit and lost his playoff debut in his third season. Silver lining for this comparison: At least Stafford won a Super Bowl with the Rams. I personally hope Herbert is on the Peyton Manning track. Manning put up historic numbers from the get-go but didn't win a playoff game until his sixth season. 7. 2020 class can doing something 1983 and 2004 classes never didHerbert is one of several star QBs from the 2020 class producing this year, and at this rate they will be in the company of the famed 1983 and 2004 draft classes.Between Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts, the 2020 class is on pace to have five players with 20 touchdown passes this year. No QB class has ever done that. Not even 1983, which famously featured six QBs in the first round (John Elway, Todd Blackledge, Jim Kelly, Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien, Dan Marino). 8. The Commanders are letting Howell cookThe Commanders appeared to mail in their season at the trade deadline when they shipped off edge rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat, and while that may be true, there's still one big reason fans should stay engaged. Sam Howell. The 2022 fifth-round QB is getting ample opportunity to flash his skills. The Commanders are dropping back to pass on 71.6 percent of their plays, the highest rate of any team since at least 2000. He leads the NFL in completions, attempts, interceptions and times sacked this year, while ranking second in pass yards. Let Sam cook! He has in the last two games. I watched all 106 of Howell's dropbacks against the Eagles and Patriots and came away impressed with his upside. He flashed big arm strength, made throws under pressure and on the run. This throw to Terry McLaurin on third-and-long to set up the eventual game-winning field goal was marvelous. Under pressure, perfect placement and thrown as his receiver starts making his break. These are the types of big-time throws Chris Trapasso raved about this week as he suggested Howell has the upside to be the best late-round QB since Tom Brady. Howell leads the NFL in touchdown passes on throws 20-plus air yards (four) and in pass yards when pressured (262) in the last two weeks. Howell drifted beautifully to buy time against pressure on this deep ball against the Eagles. His performance has been efficient at times, too. I loved how Eric Bieniemy scripted easy completions to start the game against Philadelphia in Week 8. 20 of Howell's first 22 dropbacks came with either some form of motion, play action or a screen. Howell was able to land plenty of jabs before dropping some haymakers. It was that combination in the last two games that helped Howell surpass Patrick Mahomes as the youngest QB in NFL history with a 70 percent completion rate, 700 pass yards and five touchdown passes in a two-game span. Both had Bieniemy as their offensive coordinator.Of course, there were bouts of inaccuracy and poor decision-making that you would expect from a QB with 10 career starts under his belt. There was a mini-meltdown toward the end of the Eagles game that included an interception into tight coverage and two inaccurate throws to a wide-open Terry McLaurin in a one-score game. His interception into the end zone to end the first half against the Patriots was also a really bad decision. Those are the growing pains you can expect from a young QB, and so far the good outweighs the bad. The outlook is promising in Washington as Howell has taken the surprise leap that many of us probably expected from Justin Fields or Kenny Pickett (among others) this year. 9. Lamar Jackson eyeing feat only accomplished by Steve YoungLamar Jackson took over the NFL's completion percentage lead with an efficient day (21 of 26 passing) in Sunday's blowout win over the Seahawks. Can you imagine if the most electrifying QB on planet Earth also is one of the most efficient, leading the league in completion rate? I wrote on Sunday about how Jackson can join Steve Young (1994) as the only players to lead all qualified QBs in both completion rate and rush yards in a season. It'd be a crazy feat when you consider the statues (exception Steve Young) who usually lead the league in completion percentage. Cody Benjamin says Jackson is the midseason MVP, thanks to this dual-threat ability. It'll be interesting to see if Jackson can sustain the improvement as Baltimore has the second-toughest remaining schedule in the NFL. The last two seasons are also a cautionary tale as Jackson was hurt in December in each season. 10. Hat tip to Daniel Jones and Ryan TannehillTwo teams who have had the same quarterback for the last five years or so are making changes this week, for different reasons. Daniel Jones tore his ACL last Sunday, meaning his first season of a four-year deal worth $160 million is cut short. It's possible, but unlikely, he has played his last game in a Giants uniform. It would cost the Giants $69 million in dead money to cut Jones this offseason. It could be spread out over two years with a post-June 1 designation. It would be cheaper to trade Jones, and anything is on the table, especially if the Giants get a high draft pick and are in position to draft a quarterback (which I'm sure their fans would love). Still, there's a good chance Jones is back in New York, and Bryan DeArdo laid out how the Giants can improve the situation around Jones. No matter how it shakes out, here's a hat tip to Jones, who had a surprise career year and led the Giants to a playoff win last year. Heal up!It remains to be seen if the Daniel Jones era, which began in 2019, is over in New York. But it's pretty clear, barring injury, the Ryan Tannehill era is over in Nashville. Tannehill replaced Marcus Mariota as the Titans' starting QB in 2019, eventually leading the Titans to the AFC Championship. On Tuesday, Tennessee announced rookie Will Levis would be the starting QB going forward. It was a no-brainer after his strong debut, coupled with Tannehill's injury and overall decline. That doesn't make it any easier for Tannehill, who acknowledged "It hits hard". Credit to Tannehill for being a class act and already taking Levis under his wing amid the demotion. As for Tennessee, Bryan DeArdo broke down what the move means for them. It all comes full circle as the QB carousel keeps spinning. Now the Titans will find out if Levis has what it takes to be a franchise QB.
San Francisco 49ers
Ilusiona: El novato Brock Purdy.
Preocupa: El novato Brock Purdy.
New York Giants
Ilusiona: Daniel Jones.
