#It's just that I've read several where Saiki is like this
Text
Y'all know those fanfics where Saiki is an asshole to Teruhashi or really rude to her until they start dating? Yeah, this is what I imagine what that Saiki meeting Canon Saiki would be like.
Canon Saiki: So do you still deal with Teruhashi?
Fanfic Saiki: I can not avoid that woman. The other day she was bothering me when a mob of her fans showed up so I teleported away and-
Canon Saiki, surprised: You revealed your powers to her?! I mean, her fans do suck, so I can understand panicking and teleporting the both of you away-
Fanfic Saiki: What? No, I teleported myself away and left her there.
Canon Saiki: You what.
Fanfic Saiki: I teleported myself away. Well actually, I was the one who kinda summoned that crowd so that she'd be too overwhelmed with them to go find me-
Canon Saiki, shaking with murderous rage: You what.

One thing that i've never saw talked about is the editor, until i stumble across your blog, what are the major diferences between the first one and the second one? Also, how do you think this new editor can affect the work of Horikoshi?
i honestly don’t know a ton about the editors - however, editors 2 and 3 (Monji and Yoritomi) have had probably the biggest influx on the story, and you can tell how the story shifted under both their editing.
the first editor Koike, was only editor for the conception of MHA as well as chapters 1-3, and i believe also helped a bit with chapter 4 in conjunction with the second editor, so his presence with the story isn’t that visible.
Monji was the second editor, volume 1 to volume 19, and from the looks of it he never wanted MHA it chart into very serious territory - a story that others could pick up even if they didn’t keep up with the story. I guess he intended for it to be more lighthearted? and you can tell this especially when it comes to the Overhaul arc, which suffered many things like pacing, characters themselves and the overall feel of the arc, not to mention Horikoshi’s own health. he seemed to be more hands-on in what went into the story and limited Horikoshi when it came to darker themes and gore. he didn’t want the series to be too graphic.
you can read an interview here that was had with Koike and Monji, concerning the series!
Yoritomi, who was the third editor...you can tell the pacing just changed. the Cultural Festival arc is fun but doesn’t feel like a drag, and it leads directly into the Pro Hero arc. several of the arcs under Yoritomi’s work are considered to be some of the best of the series (Pro Hero, MVA, Endeavor Agency and including the current one), and he on the other hand seems to let Horikoshi do what he wants - or rather, they work together and had similar ideas for where the series should go and how it should be handled. he previously worked as an editor on “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.”
the newest editor is Hikaru Taguchi! he seems to be either a newer editor, or hasn’t worked with many notable works, and here you can read an interview he had concerning the series he was last editor for, Samurai 8!
I guess there could be a bit of concern with this information...Samurai 8 was a very average story that never lived up to the hype surrounding it (coming from Kishimoto, who’s known for Naruto), and it got axed after about 40+ chapters? However, based off the interview he seems to be more like Yoritomi - he might be more willing to let Horikoshi run with his own thing, considering MHA is a pretty popular series. if anything, the pacing might feel different. (it might fall into a faster/slower pace), but until we see how the series feels with his editing, we won’t know for sure! he seems pretty laid back and tries not to sugarcoat his thoughts, so I trust the series will still be as good with him as the editor.
