Outer Space Asteroid Field (Iridion 3D, especially the Iridion 3D & II Arranged Soundtrack Perfect Selection version [2001/2003])

Some of the best the GBA has to offer in 2001! Germany’s hit space shooter was really ahead of its time! The arranged mix makes it more 80s than ever! At the point the original loops at, it keeps the momentum the original temporarily lost.

If you want another “git gud” shooter to test you, featuring cool 3D graphics and attack patterns, this is a solid choice

《原神》这个游戏，应该是通过着色器制作的，所以比较省电也省运算。

——

采用播放动画来当背景的游戏有GBA的《Iridion(伊登战机)》系列。

它是用一个比GBA屏幕略大的视频循环播放，当玩家的飞机移动到一边时，它就把镜头拉到玩家移动的方向，看起来就像视角移动了，产生了3D的感觉。

圆环一个接一个迎面而来，而在圆环中的BOSS顺着圆环前进，并独立摆动。

Citizen Discharged (Iridion II [2003])

Just because Iridion didn’t get a new game in 2002, didn’t mean it was falling behind the competition in the VG music department, far from it; it was taking extra time, preparing to blow the minds of anyone who played it.

With the stage itself set in a spaceport where you navigate giant spaceships that take up almost the entire screen, the 90s-sounding beat drop after 42 seconds of epic buildup, is some of the sickest shit you’ll ever hear in any space shooter to date, followed by fantastic sounds that almost stop sounding like a GBA game altogether, not stopping until near the 2 minute mark, but it doesn’t take longer than 16 seconds until it repeats the aforementioned beat drop for a nice loop back to the mind-blowing part again.

Unlike Iridion 3D, I can wholeheartedly recommend this space shooter to anyone, not just die-hard space shooter fans; its got enough difficulty options, game mechanics warranting different playstyles, 15 varied stages each with a unique miniboss + main boss for satisfying gameplay-length, and a really advanced yet short 5-character password system that saves everything, all good for anyone to pick up and play the game anytime they like! With good gameplay, fantastic presentation, timeless music, it’s a must-play, especially for the space shooter fans out there!
