UK PM tells Netanyahu Middle East escalation is in no one’s interest
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak urged his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu to show restraint and allow “calm heads” to prevail in the wake of Iran’s missile attacks, as Foreign Secretary David Cameron landed in Tel Aviv for talks on Wednesday.
In a telephone conversation, Sunak reiterated Britain’s “unwavering support” for regional stability and told the Israeli leader that Iran had miscalculated its actions, leaving it isolated on the world stage.
The Israeli minister reportedly thanked Britain for its “swift and decisive” support in the face of Iran’s unprecedented direct attack on Israel on Saturday. Downing Street said in a readout of the call on Tuesday evening:
“The Prime Minister [Sunak] said Iran had badly miscalculated and was increasingly isolated on the global stage, with the G7 coordinating a diplomatic response. He stressed that significant escalation was in no one’s interest and would only deepen insecurity in the Middle East. This was a moment for calm heads to prevail.”
Referring to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Sunak told Netanyahu that he remains gravely concerned about the deepening humanitarian crisis.

if i see anybody celebrating the fact that iran attacked israel, saying that they hope people died or anything similar, i am blocking you.
nobody should be expressing EXCITEMENT about bombs and killing and war. i did some research, and it looks like iran's bombs did not kill anybody (please correct me if i'm wrong), but even so, people are treating it like it's a good thing that israelis were at risk of getting hurt or dying.
i just don't get it. you guys condemn israel for killing palestinians (which is completely fair if you are only targeting the israeli government and not the innocent civilians of israel who did not choose to be a part of this conflict), and then turn around and clap and cheer at the mere possibility of israelis being killed the same way.
what the israeli government is doing is a (very morally wrong) act of retaliation against what happened on october 7, and then october 7 is an act of retaliation against an act of retaliation against an act of- when does it stop? at this rate, it will never stop.
we need to stop cheering and rooting for revenge and focus on trying to help refugees, do all we can to help keep more people from getting hurt, no matter what nation they belong to.
whether the person blown to pieces is palestinian or israeli or neither or both, it doesn't matter. the deaths all hurt the same. it's all people who are dying.
so don't you dare come online and say nasty things behind a screen about how you hope innocent israelis die.
because if you do, you are just as bad as the people wishing death on palestinians, and that's the truth.

Iran launches drones at Israel
As tensions escalate in the Middle East, reports emerge of Iran launching a barrage of drones towards Israel, further intensifying the volatile situation in the region. The incident has triggered widespread concern and condemnation from global leaders, raising fears of a potential escalation in hostilities.
The drone attack represents a dangerous escalation in Iran's ongoing confrontations with Israel and its allies. Such actions not only threaten the security and stability of the region but also undermine efforts for peaceful resolution and dialogue.
In response to the attack, Israel is likely to deploy its advanced defence systems and may retaliate, raising the specter of further violence and instability. The international community must urgently engage to de-escalate tensions and prevent a dangerous spiral of conflict.
Efforts to address the root causes of the tensions between Iran and Israel, including regional rivalries and geopolitical ambitions, remain essential for long-term peace and stability. Diplomatic channels must be utilised to find peaceful solutions to the underlying issues driving these conflicts.
As the situation continues to unfold, it is imperative for all parties involved to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue over confrontation. The consequences of further escalation are grave, with the potential to destabilize the entire region and inflict untold suffering on innocent civilians.

There has been major developments in the region in the past few days that indicates regional war is imminent. Again the tweets and articles will be in chronological order.
American war ships are in the Mediterranean and Red Seas. Russia responded to that by sending planes to the Black Sea and China by sending warships to Kuwait.
Tumblr media
We got our usual back and forth on the ground operation in Gaza
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The American media is not really reporting these recent attacks on their military bases. In fact, the military is downplaying the strength of the responses by Yemeni and Syrian groups to the Gaza genocide. This is either because they want to avoid regional war or because they want to be better prepared for regional war.
This statement below seems to indicate that Iran is coming to the conclusion that open warfare is the only thing that will deter America and Israel
Tumblr media
As for Yemen, they've declared Israeli ships will be targeted if the attack on Gaza continues (you'll see later that this is no empty threat)
Tumblr media
By the way, Israel bombed an Egyptian military site along the border and claimed it was an accident. The Egyptian people have been calling for their government to intervene militarily and I don't think this will ease the pressure.
On the 22nd, Israel sent a small team to infiltrate Gaza. They didn't get very far
Tumblr media
They're also struggling against Hezbollah
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This meeting by the Russian foreign minister is a big deal as you'll see later
Tumblr media
America responds to the escalating tension by deploying 'defensive systems' all over West Asia. It risks stretching itself too thin as multiple countries are already involved in the Palestian resistance with countries like Egypt and Jordan facing internal pressure to do something about the Gazan genocide
Tumblr media
Republican Mitch McConnell has recently called Iran, Russia and China 'the new axis of evil'. It seems this is the new angle that the West has chosen because Rishi Sunak has also been comparing Hamas to Russia. This can only lead to Russia getting close to Iran which would ultimately help Hamas.
Tumblr media
The situation in Iraq continues to deteriorate as America evacuates its embassy and warns its citizens not to use the Baghdad International Airport due to attacks by Iraqi military groups.
Here we have an Israeli commander admitting that Israel is largely on the defensive against Hezbollah and their soldiers are both traumatised and disheartened. Remember, Hezbollah has yet to officially enter the war
Tumblr media
Blinken said that the US 'will be prepared' if Iran escalates its attacks which gives weight to that idea that the US is only trying to deescalate because its not ready yet.
Tumblr media
A few hours ago, American bases in Syria were targeted. It's becoming clear that a major goal in the plan to defeat Israel is removing America from the picture in the region
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The White House then blames Iran for the attack
Tumblr media
More military bases targeted in Iraq
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile IDF is trying to infiltrate Gaza again. Reminder that a ground operation means that Hezbollah will officially enter the war and begun using its vast numbers of missiles and rockets. They're also attacking the West Bank, the resistance fighters have ambushed them
Tumblr media
Yemen follows through on the threats it made by attacking a US warship with drones
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ansarullah claims there was a direct hit but the US Navy says that all drones were intercepted (using days old pictures).
So what now? First, do not expect a ceasefire. Tbh the Palestinian resistance hasn't even called for ceasefire, just an exchange of hostages.
Tumblr media
Second of all, America itself does not believe that Israel can win this war so let's all stop acting like Palestine has already lost
Tumblr media
Thirdly, regional war is looking more and more like reality

Two Iranian IRGC aerospace staff suspiciously died
Tumblr media
Tehran (The Times Groupe)- Iranian state media reported that two Iranian IRGC aerospace staff died in separate incidents while on active duty.
In a statement carried by Iranian media late Sunday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) branch in Markazi province, Iran said Ali Kamani, a member of the IRGC’s aerospace division stationed in Khomein, some 320km (200 miles) south of Tehran, had died in a “driving accident” while on an unspecified mission.
In the early hours of Monday, the IRGC-run Fars news agency reported that another aerospace worker, Mohammad Abdous, had also died while on mission.
Later, Iran’s defence ministry confirmed Abdous worked there.
The two men worked for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force, a missile, air, and space force that was renamed from the IRGC Air Force to the IRGC Aerospace Force in 2009.
The labeling of both deaths as martyrdoms suggests that Iran believes the men were killed.
The details of Abdous’ death have not been published, other than the fact that he died on Sunday in the northern province of Semnan.
Kasani and Abdous’ deaths are the latest in a string of mysterious deaths in recent weeks.
According to state media, one of them, an IRGC Quds Force colonel named Ali Esmaeilzadeh, was killed in an accident earlier this month.
According to Tasnim, which is close to the IRGC, Esmaeilzadeh was eliminated by the IRGC over suspicions that he was involved in the assassination of another colonel on May 22.
Tasnim called the claim “psychological warfare and news fabrication” and said he fell from an unlocked balcony.
Israel’s Mossad is suspected of high-level Iran penetration. staff

Random thought brought on by seeing a veterinarian sign on the drive to Coffee Land, but I think Jesus would really appreciate people localizing his parable of the Good Samaritan.
Because, like, it's a good story, right? When the administrator-guy and the holy man wouldn't help the injured, the Samaritan went out of their way to make sure the injured man was able to get the help they needed, paid out of their own pocket. And that's good and all, but what even is a Samaritan? Do you know?
Well, they're a ethnoreligious group from northern Israel who follow Samaritanism, which split from Judaism sometime around the 11th century BCE. There's only about a thousand of them left. But around the time of Jesus, they were not very popular with your average Hebrew. Remember the Seleucid empire that was oppressing jews? There's a yearly celebration about it, involving a candle that lasted for 8 nights. Yeah. So at the time the Samaritans had taken the opportunity to point out they're not Jewish, they're Samaritans, so they wouldn't be persecuted. So they were seen as, like, selling out their brothers and sisters in the faith. Then by the time the Romans took over the whole area, the province of Judaea contained Samaria.
So basically the Jews and the seen-to-have-sold-them-out Samaritans were stuck in the same province, thanks to some Romans consolidating the areas they'd conquered. Tensions between the two groups were high, and I don't imagine either of them liked each other very much at all.
To a Jew of the first century CE, a Samaritan is basically the worst kind of person you could be, and that's exactly why Jesus used them in the parable of the Good Samaritan!
The parable isn't about Samaritans. It's about how the worst person you can imagine is a better person than the people you idolize and uplift, if that person takes care of their fellow man. It's about how you should love your neighbor as yourself, and who is your neighbor? Everyone. All people are your neighbors. Help them when they need help!
And that's why I say it should really be localized. You should tell this parable differently than it was told in AD 29 or whenever. Do you hate Samaritans? Probably not! You probably barely know who they are, even after I did some explaining up there. So why use them as your example? If Jesus was here, I don't think he would have done that.
So like, if you were giving a sermon on the good Samaritan in the 1960s to a white church, you should be like "so the policeman walked past, and the pastor walked past, but then a poor black guy saw the injured man, and got him help at the local hospital."
In the 80s, his rescuer is Soviet. In the 2000s, they're a Muslim, from Afghanistan or Iran.
Today? Maybe they're trans.
As an American, there's been many times that "Mexican" would have been the best choice. Maybe even today, especially if you specifically make them an undocumented migrant.
But yeah, the point is that you pick the group of people most hated by the audience you're talking to, and make the point that THEY ARE A BETTER PERSON THAN YOU and ALL THOSE YOU UPHOLD AS PILLARS OF THE COMMUNITY if they help their fellow man. If your worst enemy is lying injured in the street, you call the ambulance, you pay their doctor, you get them help. That's what Jesus says you should do. That's loving your neighbor, that's the Great Commandment.
And in the Roman province of Judea back in the first half of the first century, when talking to a Jewish audience, that meant the rescuer was a Samaritan helping a Jew. That was just the context for that one particular telling of the story. It shouldn't be told the same way today, or in the future. It should be an evolving parable, always changing, always adjusting the nationalities and situations and genders and everything. It's not a story about a specific event, it doesn't pretend to be history, it's a metaphorical lesson about what makes you a good person.
This parable is basically in the form of an "X, Y and Z walk into a bar" joke, and just like jokes, it should be updated over time. Those don't stay funny though the decades, as cultural attitudes shift. And this parable hasn't been updated in nearly two millenia, so it's long overdue.

For 6 months, Israel has been committing genocide in Palastine. They have also been attacking Lebanon and Syria, while sending their sugar Daddy after Yemen.
All this US politicians refer to as self-defense.
But when Iran retaliates after Israel bombed their embassy, they say Iran is "escalating tensions."

"Iran is escalating tensions in the Middle East!"
Okay sure, you can make an argument for that, but like, isn't destroying Iran's consulate in Syria also a huge escalation? Israel essentially attacked two countries at once and nobody is telling them "wtf what r u doing stop escalating shit!" But the minute Iran launches an attack....
Let me be clear: Iran's regime is legit awful and they don't deserve any support for their many many repressive policies and violations of human rights. Still, I totally get where they're coming from with this. You do not bomb other countries' diplomatic posts and get away with it. Unless you're Israel I guess. Then it's okay 😒
Also, now with all eyes on Iran, people are distracted from what's happening in Gaza which may very well be an intentional side effect on Israel's part. But don't forget: PEOPLE ARE STILL BEING KILLED AND STARVED IN THE GAZA STRIP.
Keep your eyes on Gaza

I truly don't understand how anyone can look at the tensions between Israel and Iran and not be scared shitless at how things got this bad in a short amount of time.
The US government is basically telling Israel "Yeah, you can commit a genocide, we're not going to stop you."
It doesn't take a fucking genius to realize that Israel's actions were going to create a domino effect that was going to lead to a global conflict.
And like I said before, all this shit could have been avoided had the US government just implemented a permanent ceasefire in October. But they just kept funding this genocide because they're that morally bankrupt.

Discussion of real world war crimes and brutality of Israel below, something I can't be silent about. If you do not want to be exposed to such topics then just scroll by.
Israeli military now aren't merely bombing the hell out of Gaza but are now rounding up civilians and holding field executions.
Little boys and men are being stripped and humiliated as hundreds are detained in a converted Gazan stadium.
Salt water has been pumped into tunnels and polluted scarce ground water.
IDF have filmed themselves riding the discarded bikes of dead or evacuated children and burning food supplies even as according to a UN report 570,000 Gazans are currently starving.
Netanyahu spoke in a Likud Party meeting about what his vision for Gaza was after the "war" and he has said he wants the Palestinians to be transfered.
Many top Israeli officials have stated that they want Palestinians to "willingly immigrate" to other countries. This is actually why they are destroying hospitals, schools, workplaces, water sources, food, roads, and homes. It makes it more likely Gazans will leave "voluntarily" after the war if there is nothing in Gaza for them.
And as always remember that the blockade is still there, food, water, and medicine aren't allowed in any sufficient quality into Israel.
More UN workers have died in under 3 months than in any other conflict.
More journalists have been killed in under 3 months than have died in the entirety of WWII.
All of these are flat out war crimes.
Tensions are mounting with Hezbollah, Israel used US supplied white phosphorus in southern Lebanon. The US told Israel that if Hezbollah got involved that the US would attack on Israel's behalf, ever since then Israel has been trying to goad them into an all out conflict.
In what is likely a bid at drawing Iran and the US into the conflict Israel has assassinated a high rank Iranian general in Syria.
President Biden has made headlines for saying that Netanyahu needs to change and his administration is pressuring Israel to lessen the brutality. But this is a farce. Empty words. For even as he speaks these words he put into action a gift of 14k tank shells to Israel that he circumvented congress to give them. And after that, even now, the US continues to cosign genocide by giving Israel more and more weapons.
Israeli Defense Minister and former IDF general Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has stated that Israel is fighting a seven front war and has struck back at 6 of them. He went on to say the fighting may take years.
If it is within your power go to protests, boycott Iraeli goods, and speak out against genocide by educating those close to you. Because if we don't hault this it could escalate into WWIII and this time the US seems firmly on the side of those committing the genocide.
