Lenovo Announces a Wave of Devices for 2023

"Ending the year with a bang" seems to be Lenovo's main objective as 2022 draws to a close, with the company announcing a multitude of new devices aimed at consumers and enterprises. A number of new tablets and laptops are now part of the brand's current portfolio, and with that said we're here to take a quick look at them - let's get to it! Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Series Lenovo has announced its latest wave of premium laptops with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11, X1 Yoga Gen 8, and X1 Nano Gen 3, which feature sleek designs with sharp 14 and 13-inch displays, as well as powerful internal hardware. In terms of performance, the laptops are built on the Intel Evo platform, with the latest generation of up to Intel Core Processors (up to the i7 series) with Intel vPro, alongside Windows 11. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 and X1 Yoga Gen 8 can also be configured with up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM, adding to their overall versatility. The new laptops also come with the advanced Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Voice with AI noise cancellation, and boast better privacy thanks to the ThinkShield security suite. Other specs include eSim and and Nano sim compatibility, IdeaPad Pro 5i and IdeaPad Pro 5 Up next we have the IdeaPad Pro 5i and IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 8, which are targeted towards consumers with their attractive design, which is available in Arctic Grey and Frost Blue with 14 and 16-inch display versions. The laptops come with a choice of Intel or AMD Ryzen processors, and an NVIDIA GeForce GPU, which allow for better productivity and multi-tasking capabilities. The new laptops also come with up to 120Hz refresh rates for an optimal computing experience. Adding to this is the Dynamic Display Switch (available on the 16-inch models), which enables users to change up the refresh rates on their displays for a more immersive viewing experience. IdeaPad Slim 5i and IdeaPad Slim 5 Lenovo also introduced the latest IdeaPad Slim 5i and IdeaPad Slim 5 Gen 8 laptops, which boast ultra-portable designs thanks to their sleek styling. Of the two variants, the 16-inch variant features up to 2.5K resolution, while the 14-inch model features an FHD OLED display with up to 400 nits of brightness and up to 2.2K resolution. The laptops will be available with the latest Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, and will be available in Violet, Cloud Grey, and Abyss Blue models. IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook For consumers interested in grabbing a Chromebook-powered device instead, Lenovo has also launched the the IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook, which comes with a 12-inch display. The laptop features a flexible 2-in-1 design, allowing it to be used in more ways either as a standard tablet, or in a laptop orientation. The Flex 3i Chromebook also comes with a choice of an HD or FHD camera with a physical shutter, as well as a designated mute key. Additional upgrades include the latest N-series Intel Processor, two front-facing speakers with Waves’ MaxxAudio tuning, faster connectivity via Wi-Fi 6E, as well as a battery that Lenovo says can last up to 12 hours. Lenovo Tab M9 If you'd rather go with something a lot more portable and geared for entertainment, then you might want to go for the Lenovo Tab M9. The new tablet comes with a 9-inch HD screen surrounded by a metal chassis, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 Octa-Core processor alongside Android 12. Video streaming sessions will also be a ideal on the tablet thanks to the Netflix HD-supported display, Dolby Atmos spatial audio experience, and a dual stereo speaker set-up. There's also 128GB of built-in storage, and up to 13 hours of battery life. IdeaCentre Mini Lenovo has also announced the IdeaCentre Mini, its take on mini PCs. It's a 1L desktop PC with a compact design, a built-in power supply unit, allowing it to be placed almost anywhere in your desktop set-up. Additionally, its chassis can be easily opened, allowing users to access its dual-vortex cooling fan and memory chip for upgrades or repairs. Inside you'll find an Intel Core i7 processor, two DDR4 memory chips, up to 1 TB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, allowing for powerful multitasking, productivity, and everything else you'd expect from a full-size desktop PC. Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2: A Powerhouse Mobile Workstation

With the addition of the newest Intel Core Ultra processors, an 8 GB RTX 3000 Ada Generation workstation GPU, and a 400-nit display option, Lenovo has updated the ThinkPad P16. The rest of the laptop, however, is essentially the same as the model from the previous year, save from some noteworthy internal upgrades.

With Intel Raptor Lake vPro CPUs, up to an RTX A2000 GPU, and a 16-inch 800-nit WQUXGA panel, Lenovo first unveiled the ThinkPad P16 last year. Lenovo is bringing a few significant upgrades this year while maintaining the same chassis.

Thinkpad P16 gen 2

First off, an RTX 3000 Ada Generation GPU and an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU are the maximum configurations available for the ThinkPad P16 i Gen 2. The Raptor Lake Core i9 processors that the Core Ultra 9 185H is replacing don’t perform any better, but the CPU does have a faster NPU, a far more capable iGPU, and increased efficiency. The RTX 3000 Ada Generation GPU, which has 20 TFLOPs of computing power compared to the RTX 2000 Ada’s 14.5 TFLOPs, will, however, deliver the significant performance boost. This board is located in the high-end ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 SKU (Get it now on Amazon).

The ThinkPad P16 G2 also boasts 4 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage with two 2 TB drives running in RAID 0/1 and up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 memory.

Next up, the 400-nit, 100% sRGB display option is a new addition to the Gen 2 ThinkPad P16 lineup of products. A 400-nit 100% sRGB option with an FHD+ resolution, an 800-nit UHD+ panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and two FHD+ panels with 300-nit 45% NTSC alternatives with and without touch input are now available to users.

The ThinkPad P16 G2 is nearly identical to the previous generation model, with the same chassis, port selection, 90 Wh battery size, 65.00 x 262.00 x 24.66 mm dimensions, and 2.22 kg (4.9 lbs) starting weight, save from these changes and the removal of the red strip at the back.
