It's funny to me (see also: "annoying" and "perplexing") to me that some people apparently think Jess is the kind of guy who would pretend to like certain books or musicians in order to seduce women. 😂 Like... No? Haha! I mean, yeah, he's opinionated and can be a pretentious snob sometimes, and he can be annoying about it if he's in a bad mood... but he's not a poser! You're allowed to not like him, but don't just make stuff up! I mean, the guy couldn't even make himself pretend to like Ayn Rand for RORY! He apparently had started reading the Fountainhead at some point, but admitted to her that he "had yet to make it through it." He could have pretended to have read the whole thing just to seem more impressive, but he didn't! When Rory argued that the Bangles were "great," he only begrudgingly conceded, "Yeah, they're ok." Like...? The guy likes what he likes and his reading, writing, and musical preferences have been pretty consistent over the entire course of the show, whether he's with or without Rory or Shane or Luke or by himself or at his new step-dad's strip-club bachelor party, so to imply that he's "faking it" to "impress women" or "get laid" is pretty blatantly stupid!
